What it all means

A cell phone's SAR, or its Specic Absorption Rate, is a measure of the amount of radio frequency (RF) energy absorbed by the body when using the handset. All cell phones emit RF energy and the SAR varies by handset model.

Keep away

In May 2011, the European Union proposed a ban on cellphones in schools because of "potential e ects on health. " Russia, Great Britain, Australia and Canada also seek to regulate or even prohibit children to use cell phones.

Nobody follows the manufacturers recommendations to keep the phone at least 25 mm from the head during a call. Speaking in a noisy bar is almost impossible without pressing the phone against his head, which could exceed the limits of radiation. The University of California suggests using headphones and keep the camera a few feet away from the head.
