SAN FRANCISCO USBC ASSOCIATION SENIOR OPEN DOUBLES TOURNAMENT RULES (55 Years of Age and Over)

1. This tournament is open to all bowlers who are current members in good standing of USBC and the San Francisco USBC. Participants MUST also have an established San Francisco USBC association average of 21 games or more. NO CARDS SOLD ON SITE. 2. All entrants must be at least 55 years of age at the time of participation in the tournament (date of birth MUST be on the entry.) NOTE: Failure to report the correct birth date may result in disqualification. 3. This tournament will consist of three (3) games. 4. The tournament shall be conducted on a handicap basis Doubles Event: 90% of 440 5. Bowlers need not belong to a senior league to be eligible for entry in this tournament. 6. Entrants may enter the open doubles event more than once; however you may only cash once with the same partner 7. The entering average shall be determined by the following priorities: 1) Highest certified league average (minimum of 21 games) dated as of APRIL 15, 2011. If none, 2) Highest certified league average (minimum of 21 games) dated as of APRIL 15, 2010. If none, 3) Highest certified league summer 2010 average (minimum of 21 games) NOTE: Any person who has an average in a USBC designated Sports Bowling League must submit his/her adjusted Sport Bowling league average utilizing the USBC Average Adjustment Scale See USBC Rule 202A 8. No other averages will be accepted. Bowlers are responsible for verifying their own averages. Any falsification of the highest known average will result in immediate and final disqualification. If a certified sport league average is the bowlers only average, then it will be adjusted per the chart in the USBC Rulebook to determine the correct entering average. Rule 319A3 & A4, failure to use the correct average shall disqualify score if submitted average is lower than correct average thereby resulting in more handicap will apply. Prize winning will be based on the submitted average if it is higher than the correct average. 9. USBC Rule 319A-2 (10 pin increase provision) and Rule 319D (reporting of prize winnings) will be waived. 10. Replacements for original entrants may be made providing the replacement meets eligibility and average requirements per Rule 7. 11. All prize money will be returned 100% in prizes. Prize ratio at least one prize for each 8 entries. All prize money will be based on total pins plus handicap. 12. Designated prize funds will be paid within 30 days upon completion of the tournament, except when USBC nationals has authorized delay in payment, pending settlement of any claim or protest which effects position standings. 13. In the event of first place ties, co-champions will be declared and prize money will be combined and divided equally. 14. Bowlers must check in 45 minutes prior to scheduled squad time 15. Bowlers arriving late shall begin play and the score shall count beginning with the frame then being bowled. Missed frames shall be credited with a zero. Frames may not be made-up. Bowlers not present to bowl when its their turn will be credited with a zero for that frame. 16. In the event a bowler cannot finish his/her series, zero points will be scored for the remaining frames. 17. This tournament will be certified by USBC. 18. The tournament director shall be the authority to interpret USBC and tournament rules, policies and procedures in deciding disputes. lf deemed necessary, the tournament director shall consult with the board of directors of the San Francisco USBC Association. 19. An appeal or protest of a decision involving eligibility or playing rules must be filed in writing with the tournament director and the USBC before tournament prizes are paid. The decision of USBC is final and binding on all involved parties. Any violation of tournament rules is cause for disqualification, loss of entry fee, forfeit of all prize monies and possible suspension from USBC membership.
