Weather Radar METEOR 1500C

Introducing our high-sophisticated C-Band weather radar that makes klystron technology available to weather analysis: The fully coherent METEOR 1500C offers high accurate Doppler processing and clutter suppression because the transmitter and receiver always act on the same phase reference information.

Being a high-end klystron system, the METEOR 1500C offers phase/frequency modulation or pulse compression techniques and thus clutter suppression, sampling speed or range resolution can be improved. A klystron system together with a coherent receiver may offer up to 20dB improvement in stability and clutter suppression compared to coaxial magnetrons.

Reliable, unattended remote operation 24-hours a day, 365 days a year Full network capability Multi-radar and multi-user operation Large selection of integrated interfaces to other meteorological sensors Meteorological products suitable for all types of application

the highest acceleration rates and the best step response times available today. Our new RXC 1500 receiver consists of an ultra-low noise RF-front-end with Digital Receiver backend. The Aspen DRX is the most flexible and scalable device of its kind, offering sufficient performance margins for options like FFT processing, second trip recovery, statistical clutter filtering, pulse compression or dual polarization (further options on request). The Racon radar control system establishes an efficient and user-friendly control structure which is suitable for a single radar or a radar network. Based on COTS controllers and full integration of all processors into a standardized network architecture, remote access to any individual radar component is ensured. The Ravis standard radar control and maintenance tool allows for scan visualization and control of the full control and status display based on the comprehensive BITE information - all in real-time! As a major benefit, Ravis is fully programmed in Java. Thus, almost any PC in the network may act as a control and maintenance terminal by running Ravis.

Key Features
Latest state-of-the-art technology High precision and long-term stability Better clutter suppression compared to the magnetron system Less interference with other radio transmitters Options for 2nd trip recovery, pulse compression, etc Well-defined user access to codes, formats and data Open system architecture Low-maintenance design Full remote surveillance Comprehensive BITE system

Design principles
Based on AMS - Gematroniks proven experience with magnetron transmitters, we gained our practical knowledge in klystron technology leading to our METEOR 1500C design: Our new TXC 1500 transmitter features a solid-state modulator that drives the klystron tube. The klystron transmitter is a true power amplifier. The major advantages of the TXC 1500 are: high average and peak power, high gain, high efficiency, longer pulse duration and sufficient control of the waveform and frequency. The antenna design has recently been completely re-engineered. Our new robust, low-maintenance design offers
