INTRODUCTION:
ELECTRICALLY OPERATED LIFTING BARRIER
Working voltage of motor is110v A. C. or 24 VDC. The motor torque is converted to the
boom shaft through a belt and train of gears.
Friction clutch is provision to protect gears and boom from excessive shocks. Boom is
made of aluminum sheeting and balanced by counter weight. Boom has a section of eight
feet crank handle facility and has provisions for manual operation in case of emergency.
Crank handle disconnecting contact and electrical circuit controlling contact are
provided which can be adjusted to make and break at different position of boom. These
contact controls the motor feed and barrier open or closed indication circuit. Boom is
provided with mechanical or electro-mechanical locking arrangement to lock the boom in
closed position to prevent manual lifting.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

For “TANIRA” Electrically operated lifting barrier

1. Prepare the foundation.
2. After properly setting up the foundation, bring the pedestal and put on the
foundation. Tighten up all the four foundation nuts firmly.
3. Put declutching bolt from the side and declutch the friction clutch.
4. Make the boom actuator horizontal by hand and give the support from front and
rear to keep firm in that position. Take out the declutching bolt.
5. Assemble the complete length of boom separately.
6. Join the boom with boom actuator in position. Naturally the boom will be
supported at far end also.
7. Fix the fringes to the boom in proper position.
8. After putting the counter weight bolts on the rear side of the boom actuator, the
counter weight plates should be loaded one by one. Please note that heavier
plates should come first while loading. After putting all the plates and tightening
the nuts the balancing can be done.
9. BALANCING:
The barrier must be balanced perfectly before operation. The counter weight can
be shifted backward or forward to achieve perfect balancing. The friction clutch
should be declutched by declutching bolt and the boom now will be free to move.
By putting one hand pressure on the counter weight, the barrier should be able to
move. Once this is achieved, take off the supports and move the barrier to 45
degree position by hand. After receiving the blank pressure, the barrier should
have the tendency to come down (rather going up) very slowly. Once this is
achieved, it means that the barrier is perfectly balanced.
NOTE:
1. That if the barrier is not properly balanced, it will give excess load on the
gear system and motor. This may damage the bearing, gears or electric
motor. The barrier is designed to take unbalanced load (such as wind
pressure) for a short time only or else it may damage the barrier.
2. Ensure all the parts to be free for rotation and properly lubricate before
giving the electric supply.
3. Foundation bolts and counter weights must be firmly tightened otherwise
any shifting of the pedestal or counter weight will damage the barrier in
operation.

“LUBRICATION SCHEDLE”
