Sales and Distribution:

Major operations carried out in this department is based on SAP. There are two types of distribution channels which carries out the process a)Bulker (15 ton & 20 ton) b)Bags (10 tone =200 bags, 100 tones=2000 bg) In bulker 15- 20 tones are two limits of caring cement in loose. Bags contain 50Kg of cement each . There are couple of taxes applied on the final delivery like, 1) Vat 12% 2) Ces 1% 3) Excise duty 10% 4) Education 3% 5) F.O.R 180 rs per tone. There are 3 types of buyers 1) Trader: Retailers set buy the company through a distributor 2) Non trader: Builder 3) Bulk: RMC user Execution to these people are done buy F.I.F.O method. Vendor code is finally provided with a delivery invoice to allocate goods to the transporter.

Responsibilities of H.O.D S&D :

Oder checking. Segmenting dispatch. Allocation of orders. Follow up with production and marketing. Keeping reports ready. Solving problems of order execution. Achieving targets.

Transactions:
1. OPC: Ordinary Portland cement (bulk) .Fly ash added with ppc. 2. PPC: Pozzolonal port land cement.

Shipping details:
A ship normally loads about 3800 metric tons cement. It takes approx 6-8 hrs to unload. Flow rate of empting a ship is measured in flow rate.

Packing process:

Packing process takes place in bags for retail use with all details mentioned like Mrp, Date of manufacture, logo of company .

1. Quality :

Every hour lab and physical testing of bags is done to assure quality. 2. Quantity: Period of packing and procured qty checking. 3. Whole sale: There is no mrp printed in bulk which is supplied to direct party. Minimum supply should be 50 tones. Credit supply also provided on agreement Where a commitment of 400-500 mt is compulsory.

4. Packaging: In packing mostly 90% OPC and 10% PPC cement is done.

SALES AND DISTRIBUTION DEPARTMENT

Sales and distribution are one of the major aspects in a company. They are important component of Logistics & Supply chain management. Distribution in supply chain management refers to the distribution of a good from one business to another. It can be factory to supplier, supplier to retailer, or retailer to end customer. It is defined as a chain of intermediaries, each passing the product down the chain to the next organization, before it finally reaches the consumer or end-user.

S&D Operations at Ambuja :

Major operations carried out in this department is based on SAP. There are two types of distribution channels which carries out the process a)Bulker (15 ton & 20 ton) b)Bags (10 tone =200 bags, 100 tones=2000 bg)

In bulker 15- 20 tones are two limits of caring cement in loose. Bags contain 50Kg of cement each . There are couple of taxes applied on the final delivery like, 6) Vat 12% 7) Ces 1% 8) Excise duty 10% 9) Education 3% 10) F.O.R 180 rs per tone. 6) Bulk: RMC user Execution to these people are done buy F.I.F.O method. Vendor code is finally provided with a delivery invoice to allocate goods to the transporter.

Transactions:
Companies transaction in cement are of two types: 1. OPC: Ordinary Portland cement (bulk) .Fly ash added with ppc. 2. PPC: Pozzolonal port land cement.Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC)

The Portland Pozzolana Cement is a kind of Blended Cement which is produced by either intergrinding of OPC clinker along with gypsum and pozzolanic materials in certain proportions or grinding the OPC clinker, gypsum and Pozzolanic materials separately and thoroughly blending them in certain proportions. Pozzolana is a natural or artificial material containing silica in a reactive form. It may be further discussed as siliceous or siliceous and aluminous material which in itself possesses little, or no cementitious properties but will in finely divided form and in the presence of moisture, chemically react with calcium hydroxide at ordinary temperature to form compounds possessing cementitious properties. It is essential that pozzolana be in a finely divided state as it is only then that silica can combine with calcium hydroxide (liberated by the hydrating Portland Cement) in the presence of water to form stable calcium silicates which have cementitious properties. The pozzolanic materials commonly used are: 1) Volcanic ash 2)Calcined clay 3)Fly ash 4)lica fumes The OPC is environment friendly as well as economical Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC-53, OPC-43, OPC-33) OPC-43 GRADE The 43 grade OPC is the most popular general-purpose cement in the country

today. The production of 43 grade OPC is nearly 50% of the total production of cement in the country. The 43 grade OPC can be used for following applications: General Civil Engineering construction work RCC works(preferably where grade of concrete is up to M-30) Pre-cast items such as blocks, tiles, pipes etc Asbestos products such as sheets and pipes Non-structural works such as plastering, flooring etc. The compressive strength of cement when tested as per IS code shall be minimum 43 MPa. The physical and chemical properties of this cement are given in the table: Physical Characteristics of 43 Grade OPC (BIS Requirement) Is Code Finene SS (sq.m/k g Min) Soundness by Setting Time Compressive Strength Lechatlier (mm)max Auto clave Max (%) Initial (mts) min Final (mts) Max 1 day Min Mpa 3 day Min Mpa 7 day Min Mpa 28 day Min Mpa (IS 8112- 1989) 225 10 0.8 30 600 Not specified 23 33 43 Chemical Characteristics of 43 Grade OPC (BIS Requirement) Is Code Lime Saturation Factor Alumina Ration Min Insoluble MgO (%) Sulphuric Anhydride Loss ignition (%) Max (IS 8112 - 1989) 0.66 Min 1.02 Max 0.66 3 6 2.5% Max when C3A is 5 or less. 3% Max when C3A is greater than 5 5.

WEIGH BRIDGE:
After getting the order placed and executed the packed cement bags goes to weigh bridge. It is the place where trucks are measured in tones before loading and after loading. Approx empty truck weights 6 ton and can carry 10-15 tones of weight.

A ship normally loads about 3800 metric tons cement. It takes approx 6-8 hrs to unload. Flow rate of empting a ship is measured in flow rate.

Packing processes:
A ship normally loads about 3800 metric tons cement. It takes approx 6-8 hrs to unload. Flow rate of empting a ship is measured in flow rate. Cement is then stored in silos. the cement industry these storage silos are very important because this allows a continuous production while the cement dispatch can be discontinuous. Largest cement storage silos in the cement industry are built with diameters up to 30 m while typical silos for the storage of 20000 t cement have 20 m in diameter and 60 m height. It becomes clear that such silos require an efficient and trouble-free emptying. Accordingly highest requirements are given to overall plant reliability and practically 100% availability. From the silos cement is then packed in bags white & yellow through packaging machines and loaded through a belt into the trucks.

Project execution:
It involves project which are above Rs 9 lac. For example road construction, Machinery maintenance ,replacement, up gradation etc. Execution is done on basis of budget allotted to various department of the company . Procurement department will first decide on the tender that is placed by the of it .Finally when decision is made as to whom the contract should be provided to execute the work project execution takes place.
