as the 2nd most powerful man in the world, astutely placed right below Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple. Murdochs global media empire danger stems from its war on journalism. Rupert Murdochs ( hereafter referred to as RM ) total disregard for objectivity has undermined democracies across the globe by depriving the public from the truth and thereby the ability to make the well - informed decisions that democracy depends upon. RMs Fox News is a masterpeice of entertainment and theatre with alluring graphics that bring to mind a 4th of July celebration. Wonderful stuff, only it has nothing at all to do with investigative journalism or what used to be called news. Instead, every morning RM sends out a command detailing exactly what the news of the day will be and how it is to be spun - always far right wing. If anyone finds this to be a hard pill to swallow I invite you to watch a documentary in which many ex-Fox employees clearly state this is how the news is produced at Fox called OUTFOXED : Rupert Murdochs War on Journalism . News is a business and Fox has the highest ratings, as a result RMs spin ripples across nearly all corporate based news networks in a spineless game of follow the leader. For example, on Presidential election night 2004, while the nation was waiting for Florida to clear the thick fog around the ballot count to determine if Bush or Gore was to be the next President, suddenly Fox News announced that Bush had won the election. Miraculously within a couple minutes all the networks had also figured a way thru the thick fog surrounding the results and came to the same conclusion. How did all the different networks figure it out so fast ? They didnt ! They all simply followed the leader ( RM ) Only soon, overwhelming evidence proved nobody had any idea who won Florida. In the end - it never became clear, leaving Gore with a lack of evidence to overturn the Fox News outburst. So RM swung the U.S. Presidential election, and if he can do that, he can swing any election in the world. Being true masters of propaganda and spin there is no telling how much damage this media empire is capable of. I would be OK with the Fox News show if they called it by its correct name - a show supporting the Republican party. Instead, in a complete disregard for truth they present their information as news that is Fair & Balanced and in doing so, in my mind lose all credibility. How does this so called news program continue to receive the highest news ratings ? Has our ability to discern between lying and honesty vanished ?

Critical Thinking Skills is sorely needed as a required course in the public education curriculum. If this is not a lack of intelligence, it must be a lack of ethics. Are people subscribing to a point of view, even while knowing they are being lied to ? Either scenario points to a dire situation with truly grave consequences. RMs media empire is fully focused on making sure that the lowest common denominators in both intelligence and ethics continue to reach new lows, their future depends upon it.They have the most powerful media empire the world has ever known. Its mastery of dummy-down psychology, marketing savvy, propaganda and spin are exactly what is needed to effectively brainwash a great part of human consciousness for generations to come - if not stopped NOW. That is an insane amount of power, and therein lies the danger I refer to in the title of this article. Finally, a scandal has erupted within the empire and the world is NOW given an enormous opportunity to rid itself of The Grinch Who Stole Consciousness . Everyone who loves truth and the freedom it gives can protest / picket at any of the hundreds of News Corp. TV, Radio & Newspaper headquarters across the globe. Imprisoning the man and leaving his media empire intact is of no value. RM is 80 and will be handing the reigns over to his son anyway. It is the duty of the FBI and Dept. of Justice to see to it that the public is protected from future abuses and the only way to ensure that is to dismantle the empire thru the forfeiture of its assets. The News Corporation must be killed. Much evidence will be needed to be presented in a court of law. There is a vast network of Fox journalists hiding vasts amounts of evidence - for these are the terms of employment within RMs regime. There are many who have refused to abide due to their personal code of ethics and it is now their time to come forward and testify under oath. But will the news industry allow the eating of one of its own? Cannibalism occurs only as a result of very intense hunger. The journalists of the world did not become journalist to take dictation, they became journalists because they knew promoting the truth was important. Having been reduced to mere puppets simply repeating the prescribed spin of the day under RMs empire, they now have a very intense hunger to be actual journalists free to investigate stories objectively in hopes of discovering the truth. This is their opportunity to break the chains of censorship they are forced to wear under RMs regime. Human nature when given the opportunity will always choose freedom over censorship. That opportunity to choose has finally come for journalists. Yes, the news industry will happily eat one of its own. And, just as they always knew, it will be in the telling of the Truth that will set us free.
