The bourse ended the day on a negative note. There was strong interest in the counters such Rs.(mn) as Malwatte Valley plantations and Browns the latter recording the highest turnover for the day. 6000 5000 4000 3000 2000 1000 0 Volumes increased by 22.3% to 57m, whilst turnover increased by 13.8% to Rs.2.3Bn. The gainers list was led by Malwatte and E - Channelling while Guardian Capital and Industrial Asph. led the Losers. Browns topped the turnover list with Rs.1m to the day's turnover whilst Piramal Glass dominated the volume list with 8m shares. A total of Rs.24m net FII outflow was witnessed for the day.
