Partner channel has been far more effective than online or print ads. Community organizations provided support by attending the Wing Luke forum and hosting their own CCF forum during their regular meetings.

Round 7 forum provided a great opportunity to reach out to diverse communities within King County
Including First AME Church, International District, Hope Place II, Eastern King County, Middle College, and students at the University of Washington!

While CCF survey responses in Round 7 (Equity & Economic Opportunity Across King County) were lower than Round 6 (Citizen Priorities for Government in Challenging Economic Times), we achieved a lot more DIVERSITY.
African-Americans increased from 6.9% to 16.6%, Asian-Americans from 6.5% to 10%, and Hispanic-Americans from 1.4% to 5.5%!

CCF also achieved a more even age distribution in Round 7 which more closely mirrors King Countys age break-down.

Age groups 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70-79 all increased in relative participation!

A combined 55% (31%+24%) of survey respondents believe that King County is focused Too Little or Way Too Little on ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY, and 48% (26%+22%) believe Too Little or Way Too Little focus is on Equity.
Both 20-29 and 50-59 year olds shared a higher than average belief that theres too little focus on Economic Opportunity, and higher numbers of 50-59 year olds believed theres too little focus on Equity.

A combined 61% (31%+30%) Agree or Strongly Agree that current funding should be shifted toward PREVENTION programs
Especially among 20-29 year olds and those who work for non-profit organizations or any government.

What services or conditions are necessary for your community to be more successful?

Two-thirds (66%) overall believe that access to higher quality PUBLIC SCHOOLS is necessary or very necessary. And more than 74% of African-Americans and 78% of Asian-Americans believe this is necessary or very necessary for their communitys success!
Just under half (49%) of respondents believe that stronger environmental regulation is necessary or very necessary for their communitys success.

T27: Lower Taxes across our county so that residents will have more disposable income to spend. [Necessary (45%), Unnecessary (30%), Neutral (25%)]

45% respondents also believe that LOWER TAXES are necessary or very necessary for their community to be successful. Strikingly, MINORITIES are twice as more likely to believe this as White/Caucasians!
More than twice as many African-Americans, Asian-Americans, and Hispanic-Americans believe that lower taxes are Necessary vs. Not Necessary.

T26: Raise Taxes to pay for more or better government services. [Necessary (35%), Unnecessary (43%), Neutral (22%)]

Conversely, 43% of respondents believe that it is NOT NECESSARY to RAISE TAXES. Interestingly, STUDENTS were more than twice as likely to believe that higher taxes are not necessary.

What services or conditions are necessary for your community to be safer?

70% of respondents believe that more PREVENTION programs for at-risk YOUTH is necessary or very necessary. And more than 77% of AfricanAmericans and Hispanic-Americans believe this is necessary or very necessary for their community to be safe!
61% of respondents also believe that better Community Corrections opportunities for non-violent offenders is necessary or very necessary.

What services or conditions are necessary for your community to be safer?

Over two-thirds (68%) believe that better OUTREACH between POLICE and residents is necessary or very necessary. The percentages are even higher in some specific racial or ethnic groups.
Over two-thirds (68%) of Asian-Americans also believe that More Police in the community is necessary or very necessary for their communities to be safer.

What services or conditions are necessary for your community to be healthier?

72% of all respondents believe that access to AFFORDABLE HEALTH INSURANCE is necessary or very necessary! And more than 80% of HispanicAmericans, Asian-Americans, and African-Americans believe this is necessary or very necessary for their communitys health.
And large majorities overall (71%) also believe more Preventative Medical Care is necessary or very necessary. These percentages are generally higher in non-white ethnic groups.

What services or conditions are necessary for your community to be healthier?

63% of respondents believe that more access to HEALTHY FOODS is necessary or very necessary. 20-29 year olds and 40-49 year olds especially believe this is very important for their communitys health.
Half (50%) also believe more access to green spaces is necessary or very necessary, especially among respondents aged 20-29.

Determinants of equity are the social, economic, geographic, political and physical environment conditions in which people in King County are born, grow, live, work and age that lead to the creation of a fair and just society. This chart shows the distribution preferences of 489 respondents to the necessary determinants (conditions) for equity and their perceived primary responsibility for each one.

T11: To what extent do you agree or not that King County is providing equitable access to government services and resources?

T10: To what extent do you agree or not that issues of equity & economic opportunity are linked?

Women respondents generally disagreed or strongly disagreed (17%+9%) that King County is providing equitable ACCESS to government services and resources while men respondents, in general, were split on the topic (14%+1% agree or strongly agree and 10%+4% disagree or strongly disagree)
And again more women (17%+18%) than men (11%+9%) agreed or strongly agreed that Equity & Economic Opportunity issues are LINKED.
