During the ten years of my United Arab Emirates professional experience in the electronics company, I have taken numerous

tasks in Accounting and Finance. This has exposed me to the various aspects of the accounting field and prepared me to achieve my career objectives. In November 1996, I started my second job as a Manager in Accounting & Finance department in Electronics Company. I worked under the supervision of Chief Accountant. My activities within this position included 1. Prepares journal entries and reconciles general ledger and subsidiary accounts; prepares monthly financial statements, including distributing monthly revenue and expense reports to departments; Analyzes and reconciles revenue and expense accounts 2. Makes wire transfers and journal funding transfers and reconciles monthly bank statements. 3. Monitors grant revenues and expenses, ensuring data is recorded in the Vision financial accounting system; Calculates and prepares reimbursement billings and tracks receivables; reconciles monthly accounts receivable; Prepares audit schedules for external auditors. 4. Assists with the preparation of the annual and mid-year budgets; Assists with the fiscal year-end and fixed asset accounting; 5. Responsible for processing credit card transactions, if required and Responsible for daily balances of both AED and RMB petty cash funds. 6. Report on a regular basis to the Chief Accountant on the balances of the petty cash and other related tasks. Through this job, I got accounting theory knowledge from my Chief Accountant, which has helped me broaden my horizon and give me courage to continue pursuing further education in accounting field. After five years of working as a accounts Manager, I was employed by another Electronics company in Sharjah, UAE as a Accounts and Sales Manager. This job required not only sufficient marketing background but also analytic capability. As a Manager who offered services for more than thirty local companies. I must know my customers well by means of examining companies' financial reports and checking their business documents to ensure that they had legal background and business relationships in order to prevent our bank from fraud and money laundering. Furthermore, I must ensure that all my performances were compliant with bank policies and procedures. In addition, I was responsible for the branch's IT maintenance because of my proficient computer skills. With this capacity, I got the chance to be familiar with a number of software used to facilitate accounting procedures. The four years Sharjah Company experience provided me great wealth in my early career: the communication and negotiation skills, the knowledge of general accounting procedures, the hands-on experience in risk analysis, especially, the real interest in the accounting field. In May 2005, I resigned the company and immigrate to the United States. The true personal reason is to utilize this chance to improve my English and pursue my master's degree Accounting and Finance in United States. Since arriving in U.S. in May 2005, I have been enjoying the satisfaction of knowing that I can accept challenges, remain focused and achieve what I set out to accomplish. While keeping my aims constantly in view, I took some courses at New York City College Of Technology, New York to enhance my English and computer skills for the future education. Through my effort, I have developed excellent communication skills with people of different cultural backgrounds. I also got "A" grades in all my registered courses.

My long-term goal is to pursue a career as a CPA in a public accounting firm. For this reason, I am seeking a professional accounting program that will further my professional objectives and fulfill my educational requirements. I sincerely believe that, my ten years working experience in financial department, coupled with my education in finance and my strong desire for professional growth in my interested area, will enable me to successfully fulfil the Master of Science in accounting program.
