Immorality Leads To Loss Of Human Values

And a generation without manners and without meaningful morality is heading for disaster.... Admittedly, people find this incomprehensible, since they consider decency a mere human addition and that the times justify giving full expression to all instincts. And their points of view are encouraged by the completely wrong opinion that moral laws merely prevent people from enjoying life and therefore must be abolished. The cycle of sin is vicious, always promising something better the next time but actually causing even more harm than before. According to most of the ideals of all religions, forms of immorality include dishonesty, adultery, and lack of the ten gems of ones personality-certainty, faith truthfulness, tranquility, sincerity, kindness, generosity, contentment, submission and patience. The cause of increasing immorality is simply an increase in pride and sinfulness; a decrease in desire for true godliness. Effects of immorality: Loss of confidence Spiritual dullness, weirdness Hurt relationships Missed opportunities Barriers in connecting Possible health hazards Gods dismay Immorality has seen its influence in spreading the wings of terrorism, naxalism, crime, murder, and other social disasters. People, with no goal or

aim in life, except being themselves immoral, are seen seeking opportunities to inculcate those values through talks to illiterate and uneducated tribals which results in the latter forming a major part of the extremist army. Apart from this, students and adolescents lose their spirit and get confused with their main mottos of life. The wider aspects of immorality include corruption, bribery, and lack of patriotism in the most sections of the society. Only poverty gets enhanced along with the depression in the minds of people. Importance Of Morality: Mankind would not survive without morals. This is obviously the argument against morality in the bible. The mentally deficient personalities that use the Biblical argument for moral development need a serious education. The very foundation for society is based on moral development. Human beings do not have the speed of a cheetah, the strength of an elephant, the rhino's tough skin, the ability to leap from tree to tree like a monkey, the claws of a bear, the venom of a snake, or the ability to hide like a chameleon. What we do have is the ability to bond with one another and live in groups. This is morality. Morality is the natural consequence of group behavior. The eventual results of our moral development leads to zealots, law-abiding citizens, patriots, children trying to please their parents, and even Gandhis. Indian Scenario: Of late I have been seeing lot of news items in newspapers about thefts, vandalisms, and violence. Is it that people have started noticing and reporting these incidences more recently or is it that there is an increase of such cases recently. India has had a reasonably tough past with instances of violence strewn throughout history. Though India have been growing at a healthy rate of around 9% per annum, around 30% of the population is still illiterate. Illiteracy is the root cause of all social problems, which spreads immoral and dubious values in the society. Glimpse from ancient times on Immorality: Lets take the case of Ravana, the king of Lanka. Though he had earned the blessings of Lord Shiva to stay alive forever, his pride, unkindness and selfishness proved death for him. Although he had killed a no. of persons and tortured Sita, he himself got killed by Lord Ramah. Its clear that morality has once again defeated the realms of immorality.

Modern Examples depicting Immorality: The best examples of immorality as of now would be the functioning of all the terror groups in the world like LeT, HuJI, SIMI, Al-Qaeda, etc., who always strive to create terror, violence, murder and other social disorders thus killing thousands of innocents all over the world. Control of Immorality: Most of the violent/criminal/anti-social incidences that have happened in our system could have been prevented if their perpetrators had a good value system, a thinking mind and thought about their actions and their implications. Also most of the continuing social issues like poverty, hunger, unemployment can be tackled if more thinking individuals enter into the system to fight against these issues. Values are the guiding principles, decisive in day to day behaviors as also is critical life situations. Value education refers to inculcating in the children a sense of humanism, a deep concern for the well being of others and the nation. This can be accomplished only when we instill in the children a deep feeling of commitment to values that would build this country and bring back to the people pride in work that brings order, security and assured progress. Hence, moral education has to be made a regular part of the school curriculum. Prizes may be given to the deserving persons for showing honesty, bravery, truth etc. Contests may be organized on values of life to educate the masses on the essence of morality. No nation will ever survive if it does not implement and enact laws in the strictest manner as a guiding principle which gives people moral stability so that they will live their life within the framework of a certain social order. Unfortunately, the market forces around the world have not yet created a service, where you can pay a fee, and fight the practice of immorality, like a Bribe Buster Service or 1800 Fight Bribes. Such a service simply doesnt exist. Conclusion: According to the Father of the Nation, M.K.Gandhi, If wealth is lost, nothing is lost. If health is lost, something is lost. If character is lost, everything is lost. Thus, the best of all things is character. The fault in character and mind lead to all kinds of sins and forms of immorality. If we are to really conserve the values of humanity, its high time we make an oath to bring a positive transformation within ourselves and be a part of the social progress of the
