riodet electric Aluminium detonator

riodet Aluminium
RIODET electric detonators are designed to be used in mining, quarrying, construction and underground applications. RIODET are provided in three delay period series, Instant (Z), Micro delay (M) and Long Period delay (D): RIODET Micro delays are provided in 25 delay periods providing flexibility in short period blast designs. RIODET Long Period delays are provided in 16 delay periods providing flexibility in long period blast designs. RIODET is offered in two different types of sensitivity. I - Insensitive: standard sensitivity for normal applications. H - Highly Insensitive: for applications that involve a potential risk of accidental ignition. RIODET wire is easy to deploy, and features an easy to remove shunt cover. To facilitate identification, the delay period of each detonator is stamped on the bottom of the detonator and on the identification tag. RIODET are rigorously tested with 100m water column pressure for 48 hours, making the RIODET series optimal for difficult conditions.

rioseis P seismic booster

rioseis P seismic booster

High-energy booster for seismic exploration uEBs seismic booster is specifically made for seismic explorations. It is manufactured with a rigid plastic cover and is sensitive to the detonator. Among its properties we can outline the following: use of the boosters is not affected by long lasting storage, provided that they are kept in proper dry conditions. It is a more stable product than dynamite. High density* (1.6 gr/m3), high velocity of detonation* (7,500 m/s), and high detonation pressure* (225 Kbar). Boosters function very consistently, regardless of the hydrostatic pressure to which they are subjected. Optimum balance between high and lowfrequency signals, essential to achieve optimum interpretation and resolution of seismic data. Attenuates low frequencies and strengthens high frequencies. Reaches peak speeds of several millimeters. uEBs extensive product line also includes the Biobooster (biodegradable booster). *Rated values.

riobooster cast booster

riobooster cAst booster

RIOBOOSTERS are high energy explosives designed to produce high velocity of detonation and high detonation pressure, ensuring reliable initiation of bulk and cartridge explosives such as RIOFLEX, RIOMEX, RIOXAM and RIOGEL. RIOBOOSTERS have been designed for maximum protection of the RIONEL non electric detonator. RIOBOOSTERS will accept all MAXAM RIONEL non electric detonators, RIOTRONIC electronic detonators and RIODET electric detonators. RIOBOOSTERS must always be initiated by an #8 strength detonator, and some (as specified in the characteristics table), by RIOCORD 10 and 12 g/m. RIOBOOSTERS are made up of a mixture of high-powered explosive products. This highly stable composition gives the product an approximate density of 1.6 g/ cc, making lowering the RIOBOOSTER down the blasthole easier. ADVANTAGES Safe and reliable and user friendly. Cast design protects detonator. Variable size to suit application. Accepts all MAXAM initiation systems. High detonation pressure output. Oil and water resistant. RIOBOOSTERS are also less likely to be lifted up the side of the hose during bulk loading operations. RIOBOOSTERS have been designed for simple handling. Their oil and water resistance, supplemented by a slow aging curve, gives it characteristics that make it suitable for use in extreme working conditions. The shelf life of cast RIOBOOSTERS is dependent upon the product being stored in moderate temperatures in dry, well ventilated magazines for Class 1.1D explosives.

rionel duAl delAy

The RIONEL DDX series is composed of a detonator and a connector in the same unit. It includes both the down-the-hole detonator and a surface connector. It is equivalent to using a RIONEL MS and a RIONEL SCX together. RIONEL DDX allows the user to sequence blasts in a very easy and efficient way, especially when blasting a large amount of blastholes. RIONEL DDX is composed of a shock tube of different lengths with an in-hole detonator at one end and a plastic surface connector at the other end containing a low-charged detonator of high precision that minimises noise and shrapnel. The connector can accept up to 6 tubes and is colour coded depending on its delay time. This connector is used to connect to other DDX units in nearby boreholes, providing delayed initiation timing. ADVANTAGES Safe, reliable and user friendly. It allows quick connections in blasts composed of a large amount of blast holes. Shock tube designed to resist high traction strengths and elongations, avoiding being damaged under normal use conditions. Safe against extraneous electric currents. The design, colours, labels and packaging ease its visibility and identification

rionel scX non electric detonator surface connector

rionel surfAce connector

The RIONEL SCX series has been designed for blast sequencing, introducing intervals of delay time in between blastholes, by means of easy surface connections.
4 3

RIONEL SCX series provides sequencing different charges between blastholes or different rows of boreholes. When used together with RIONEL MS, LP or DDX, they offer great versatility in the timing design of any blast. RIONEL SCX is composed of a shock tube of different coiled lengths. It also has a plastic connector containing a lowcharged delay detonator of high precision that minimises noise and shrapnel. The connector can accept up to 6 tubes and is colour coded depending on its delay. RIONEL SCX is the ideal type of connection for the MAXAM RIONEL system. ADVANTAGES Safe, reliable and user friendly. It allows multiple firing sequences. Safe against extraneous electric currents. Shock tube designed to resist high tensile strength and elongations, avoiding being damaged under normal use conditions. The design, colours, labels and packaging ease its visibility and identification.

1. Shock tube with 3 layers coiled in a figure 80 configuration which eases deployment and avoids tangles.

2. Colour coded connector will accept up to 6 tubes.

3. The fastening band is easy to break manually in order to achieve a quicker loading operation.

lloyds register backs up mAXAms environmental management system worldwide

MAXAMs commitment with the environment has been a constant factor since Alfred Nobel Founded the company at the end of the 19th Century. A fact that today translates into a global alliance with the worlds most important environmental certifying body.

Continued efforts made by all of MAXAMs employees in environmental matters translate into a very satisfying behavior. This great effort does not only reveal itself in the environmentalrespect we have in the production activities we develop, but more so by the results that MAXAMs solutions offer society in general to decrease the amount of fossil fuels used in mining, civil works, etc., substituting the conventional mechanical methods used in blasts for even more efficient energetic materials. The use of these materials, also considerably reduce the gas emissions that create a greenhouse effect. Regarding the environmental impact of our production activities, MAXAM is an international leader. To achieve this, the company has been developing, on a corporate level, a management system adapted to its environmental policy. This management system complies with the international norms ISO 14001. With the aim of showing our clients, and society in general, MAXAMs firm commitment with the environment, the company has decided to progressively certify its environmental management system in the locations in which it has manufaturing activities. To obtain those certifications, MAXAM has signed a global agreement with the worlds most important environmental certifying company: Lloyds Register, with the head officed in London. The alliance helps obtain certificates for all the branches in a much quicker way when they apply the environmental management system, previously certified by Lloyds Register, under very strict conditions. Lloyds Register Lloyds Register is an independent institution that celebrates its 250th anniversary this year working towards safety and the environment. The owner, Edward Lloyd, invented a system to exchange information regarding a vessels history circulating an information leaflet with the news that he received about these ships (shipwrecks, breakdowns, mutinies,

changes of ship-owner, etc.). In 1760 he established a vessels register to give an idea of the conditions of these vessels were in to the insurance companies and clients that used them to transport their goods. Its success over these two centuries and a half responded to the reliability of the information it provided to third parties. Today, they have 238 offices in 186 countries and an undoubted prestige in the ships registering activities, in certifying activities, law and in regulation. Aims These two companies that are centuries old are searching with their alliance, to guarantee first, to our clients and to society in general, that the practices and methods with which it develops its industrial activities are environmentally respectful in any part of the world.
