Learning communities reconfigured


Effective immediately, changes have been made to the structure and supervision of the districts learning communities. Central Secondary Learning Community David W. Maceo Smith New Tech High School Skyline High School George Bannerman Dealey Montessori International Academy (grades 6-8) Harry Stone Montessori Academy (grades 6-8) Dallas Environmental Science Academy Henry W. Longfellow Career Exploration Academy William B. Travis Academy/Vanguard for the Academically Talented and Gifted The Department of Magnets and Special Programs will be supervised by Vickie Mitchell. In addition, Regina Jones will now be the senior executive director for the Southwest Elementary Learning Community. Gilberto Gonzalez will be the senior executive director for the Northwest Elementary Learning Community. Shirley Ison-Newsome will continue as the senior executive director for the Southeast Elementary Learning Community. Lisa DeVeaux will continue as the senior executive director for the Northeast Elementary Learning Community. Alternative programs will continue to report to Deardra Hayes-Whigham.
