Eligibility/Referral Criteria 18 or over with current or previous problematic substance use, living in the Bath and North East Somerset area. Availability/Opening Hours Office hours 10-4, Mon-Fri. Many aftercare activities take place during the evening and there are some weekend activities, please contact us for further details.

www.dhi-online.org.uk Overview Aftercare at DHI focuses on assisting clients to develop a satisfying, balanced and meaningful life. The aftercare co-ordinator works on a 1-1 basis with clients to assist them to identify their own long and short term lifestyle goals, which may include, employment, voluntary work, training, education, skills development, health, social life and to provide and access support and funding. Signposting to education, employment, and training. We offer support with accessing and funding college courses. Access to some free or reduced cost courses at Bath College and community learning courses. Links with recruiters for employment opportunities. Advice, information and support with benefits, accessing grants and letter writing.

Accessing our Services


We have tried to make the service open and accessible to all. If you feel you may have difficulty accessing the service (e.g. disability, language, or child care) please contact us directly so we can look at what things we can put in place to allow you to take up the service. We have access to translation services and will endeavour to produce documents in other formats on request.

Social Activities
We can offer support with starting new activities, e.g. finding voluntary work, reduced cost access to leisure centres and other sports activities. Information, advice and guidance on help with funding activities.

Peer Groups
Our Social Club is involved in organising activities that service users can do together, e.g. the allotment project, walking groups, book club. Ideas and suggestions from service users are always welcome.

Complementary therapies
A changing menu of time limited alternative / complimentary therapies is also available. This includes homeopathy, creative visualisation, reflexology, reiki, polarity therapy and massage.
