Matrix Organization
Q: 1) Will the company have a need to view employees in an alternate view other than the primary view (Line of Business)? Explanation: A: Currently, it is expected that a functional view will be required. The exact details are not fully known. Employees in Rohm and Haas also have dual reporting relationships (regional/business, business/project,etc...) . This may also need to be captured. Matrix reporting is a recognized need in the Rohm and Haas organizational structure. The matrix view that will be initially implemented will be a functional view of the organization versus a line-of-business view. Line-of-business view is the primary view which will be implemented within SAP. To implement a matrix view the following items will be used; Q: 2) What relationships will be used to reflect matrix views?
Explanation: A: Custom relationships will need to be created. Relationship 250 - Is Responsible for / Is responsibility of This is an Organization to Organization relationship, which will help to minimize maintenance.
