Introduction
Laptops, smartphones, cloud computing and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) have completely changed how we define a job and, indeed, how we define the very enterprises that create them. But along with the indisputable benefits, and the fact that the enabling technology is mature, available and cheap, there is a downside to the march towards mobility: the corporate IT manager and security director risks losing control over the network.

For years, IT managers and security personnel have hammered home the need for a coherent security policy, appropriate security technology and the uniform application of both.
