Control Panels

Why is my PGM output always active? Because the PGMs are in a "Normally Closed" state by default, changing their state to "Normally Open" would clear this.

Why is my PGM only activating for a few seconds and not following my Stop Event? Because the PGM timer in the "System Timers" section does not have "000" programmed, therefore the PGM will only activate for the time that is programmed into it's appropriate PGM timer section. By default it will activate for "005" seconds.

Can I change my reporting codes when I am reporting in "Contact I.D. All Codes"? When selecting "All Codes (automatic)" in section [136], the panel will refer to an internal library and will automatically generate Contact I.D. Report Codes for every event in sections [160] to [213].

Why doesn't my central station receive a "0" when I'm reporting in "Contact I.D. (programmable) codes"?

to enter a "0" value.

When reporting in "Contact I.D. (programmable) codes", you must press the "FORCE" key

Will a 24HR buzzer sound off the siren output? No. It will only sound off on the keypad.

Will a silent 24HR fire zone sound off the siren(s)?

Yes, the sirens will sound off because a fire zone cannot be program as a silent zone.

Can you use two different exit delays on a single partition? No. Only one exit delay is available per partition. Exit delay 1 for partition 1, section [071]. Exit delay 2 for partition 2, section [072].

Can you use two different entry delays on a single partition?

Yes. The Spectra series panels include 2-different entry delay definitions that can be assigned to multiple zones. Each entry delay has its individual delay timer that can range from 001-255 seconds.

At what state is a maintained keyswitch in an arming or disarming position? 1Kohm= disarmed 0ohm= armed

Infinite= disarmed

With what panel(s) (model and version#) can the expansion inputs begin at zone#4 or 5? All 1759/EX and 1728/EX v2.0 and higher panels. assignment. Option #7 and #8 in section [126] determine the location of the expansion inputs zone

Assume there is a 15-minute no movement auto-arming timer, and only one zone remains open within this timeframe. Will the system successfully arm, or will it only attempt?

Any type of auto-arming method will arm in FORCE mode, therefore, bypassing all open zones until they are closed.

If the Lock System Master Code (section [127] option#4) is ON, is there any way possible to delete it? Yes, through installer programming mode (SECTION [301]), and by Winload if you know the correct Panel ID and PC Password.

Can I sound a buzzer for a certain amount of seconds to follow the opening of 2separate zones or events? Yes. Two different timed events can be used per PGM output. Once a timed value is entered for a PGM, its deactivation event can be used as an activation event.

Is it possible to use Contact ID all codes for tel#1 and Ademco Slow for tel#2?

Yes. Contact ID All Codes refers to a predetermined set of codes in the panel and does not refer to any of the values located in SECTIONS [600] [718] as Ademco Slow does.

How many Master Codes exist? When partitioning is enabled; There are a total of 3-master codes for all spectra panels. The first is the System

Master code; this code will always have access to both partitions and all the codes. assigned to partition 1. assigned to partition 2.

The second master code is Master code 1, and only has access to partition 1 and codes The third master code is Master code 2, and only has access to partition 2 and codes When partitioning is not enabled; The System Master code and Master Code1 have rights to all codes in partition 1.

Can a User Code and Installer Code be programmed with the same code? Yes, but the installer code will have programming priority. The code although will function as an arming/disarming code.

Keypads
No zones are open on my Spectra 1686 keypad but I am not getting my ready light. A zone from 11 to 16 is open or programmed into the system in section [011] to [016] if you are not using these zones.

My keypad Chime no longer works and my exit and entry delay no longer make any noise on my Spectra keypad. All Spectra keypads have a mute feature that is enabled by pressing and holding the hence, allowing the chime, entry and exit delay to sound.

[CLEAR] button for 3 seconds. A rejection beep indicates that mute has been disabled;

What is the maximum amount of keypads that can be connected on a Spectra panel? The number of keypads that can be installed on a Spectra panel is unlimited. Power consumption limitations although need to be obeyed.

Is the chime and mute feature on all Spectra keypads the same? Spectra keypads.

Mute can be activated/deactivated by pushing the CLEAR key for 3-seconds on ALL

Chime however, has a different process depending on the keypad; 1686H/V - Press on the desired zone number from the keypad for 3-seconds to 1689/1641 Press and hold the number 9 key for 3-seconds, and enter the zone you
enable/disable chiming for that zone.

wish to chime.

Please note: that the 1686H/V keypad is a 10-zone LED-keypad; therefore, zones 11
16 cannot be chimed or displayed.

How do I modify the NOTES labels in my 1641 keypad? 1- Press and hold the 0 key for few seconds 3- Select labels [1] 2- Enter the correct 6-digit keypad programming code. Default : [000000] 4- Enter section [500] to [507] 5- Enter the notes that you want and press ENTER to save.

Wireless
I have a 1725/28 (EX or ATZ) and I wish to use a Parakey for arm/disarm. put the 1K resistor.

Use the PGM of the Parakey to trigger the keyswitch input of the Spectra, dont forget to

Program the Parakey as follow:

1. Assign remotes between section [09] to [16]. (Depending on number of remotes) 2. Turn option [4] ON in sections [17] to [24]. (Depending on number of remotes) 3. Define if the PGM is to be Timed or Latched in sections [27] to [30].

4. Define which button to activate the PGM in sections [31] to [34] 5. Turn option [2] OFF in section [35].

What are the consequences if a wireless motion has the intellizone feature?

All Paradox wireless transmitters will fall into energy save mode for 3-minutes after a

movement has been detected (except for the OMN-PMD75). If the intellizone option has been enabled on a wireless motion detector, the zone will not transmit its zone status to the panel due to the increased time delay between the energy save mode and the intellizone delay.

What wireless module can be connected to a 1758/EX panel in order to gain wireless zones? None. The 1758/EX does not support any type of Wireless expansion modules.

Yes. Note that the inputs of the APR3-ZX4 will only be available for the first 4-input zones

Can an APR3-ZX4 and an OMNIA receiver be connected on the same system?

Can an SPC-319 and OMNIA receiver be connected to the same system? No. Only one wireless module can be connected per installation.

How do I assign OMNIA remote controls to a panel with version 1.23 or lower? 1- Enter sections [721] to [728] accordingly, instead of [731] to [738]. 2- Enter value 111111, the keypad will then sound a long rejection beep. remote was properly assigned.

3- Press twice on the remote and the keypad will beep 3 times indicating that the

Can two APR3-ZX4s be connected to the same system? Yes, but you can only use a total of 4-zones (First 4-inputs), and not 8.

Can an APR3-ZX4 and an APR3-ZX8 be connected on the same system? zones

Yes. Note that the inputs of the APR3-ZX4 will only be available for the first 4-input
