THE DESERT BIOME

A desert can have a climax of hot and dry deserts and cold deserts. A desert with the temperature of hot and dry temperature range from 20 to 25C and the extreme maximum temperature for hot desert ranges from 43 to 49C and in these hot and dry deserts there is very few animals. The animals in a hot and dry desert will dry if too many animals are there because the weather climate is too hot to survive with all the sun and heat. Cold deserts climax temperature in winter ranges from -2 to 4C and in the summer 21 to 26C. In a cold desert, it carries lots of snow and rain around spring. In a hot desert, the rainfall that is expected is often very low and concentrated, the average rainfall ranges from 2-4cm annually, and in a cold desert, the average rainfall that is usually expected is less than 15cm a year. Five plants and animals that are located in a cold desert is the big sagebrush, the tufted saxifrage, the rubber rabbit brush, the Utahs state flower and the sego lily. The animals that live in the cold desert are coyotes, gopher snakes, antelope, jackrabbit, and prairie dogs. In a hot and dry desert, some animals and plants that are located in the desert are ground-hugging shrubs, short woody trees, turpentine bush, prickly pears, and brittlebush. Some of the animals are big free-tailed bats, black widow spiders, bobcats, kangaroo rats, pack rats, and pupfish. The biggest desert is northern Africa's Sahara. A desert can be very hot in daytime and cold at night. Deserts cover about 20 percent of the surface of the Earth. Most hot and dry deserts are located near the Tropic of Cancer or the Tropic of Capricorn.

Cold deserts are located near the Arctic part of the world. Growing deserts are a global problem. Many people could lose their homes and livelihoods as the world's deserts expand because of climate change and unsustainable human activities. China is facing huge environmental conflicts and these conflicts include global warming, air pollution, water pollution, deforestation and desertification. There are energy conservation programs that are fighting these environmental issues.

The cause of global warming is the burning fossil fuels, and destroying land are ways of causing global warming. The effect of burning fossil fuels is that carbon dioxide is being released while plants are supposed to be using carbon dioxide and they cannot because of the people who are destroying the land to create buildings. Global warming affects the water, the living things, the people, and not last but least the climate, and the environment. Water is affected by global warming because global warming is the rising of the sea level causing things such as floods to happen.

In Chinas issues of air-pollutions is the cause of massive rainstorms and this can cause the flooding of fields and landslides. The temperature rise also causes acid rain, which can destroy vegetation and kill animals very quickly and this makes it even harder to feed China and to keep the environmental issues under control. In China the problem with deforestation, or the loss of forests is the despite that China has been desperately planting trees and expanding forest cover. In addition, Logging is a major problem for China. Lumber production has grown, and many forests are being consumed with just the great amount of lumber demands. Society is trying to solve or fix these problems as in air pollutants from fossil fuel use make clouds reflect more of the suns rays back into space and this leads to an effect known as global dimming whereby less heat and energy reaches the earth. By punching a bunch of holes in the foil, society can eliminate this problem and this would allow the satellite signals to pass through with little attenuation. Two of the master plans are to build a large solar array on the Moon to provide power to run everything and to build small EMPLs on the Moon to throw manufactured parts into Earth orbit. The problem is that many other animal species are less adaptable, and will probably go extinct before that.
