What are the functions of Safety Management Committee? To investigate any safety & health matter brought to attention of employer. Carry out studies on the trends of accident, near-miss accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning or occupational disease which occurs at the place of work, and shall report to the employer of any unsafe or unhealthy condition or practices at the place of work together with recommendations for corrective procedures.

Review the safety and health policies at the place of work and make recommendations to the employer for any revision of such policies. Do a gather with every single department in the company and explain about what they got from the analysis .They will then understand their own responsibilities and the necessary actions to be taken towards upgrading safety and health at their respective workplaces.

Assist in development of safety and health rules and safe systems of work When we are in a company, the most important priority is the safety of every single employee. Manager can giving test used a formal procedure which results from systematic examination of a task in order to identify all the hazards to ensure the risks diminish. It should consider the provision of instructions, competence requirement or maybe role of supervision.

Perform inspections at work place and recommend preventive and corrective measures

Manager should give directions on the supervisor to conduct inspections in every single department, although some of them working in the factory or plant. And to make sure the conditions of employee is in protected from any type of hazards.

What are the roles played by the management in Safety and Health matters? There are a lot of roles that can be played by the management in Safety and Health matters that we can describe and I will list down a slight of it;

Training enables managers, supervisors and workers to understand the workings of safety management systems and legal compliance required.

Top management should allocated some cash to sponsored the Occupational Safety & Health training such as training of fire drill while the working hours.

Provided course each year to all levels of employees that working in the company to improve the quality of employees while working.

Keep reminding the employers that in charge on shall take all practicable steps to ensure that employees who do any kind of work, or use plant, equipment or deal with any substances. They must adequately train in the safe use of all plants, objects, substances, and protection clothes or equipment provided by the employer, that the employee may use while working time.

Employers shall ensure that employees have an opportunity to be involved in the development of procedures for health and safety.

Why the Safety training is important in the workplace? There is an on-going gap between what both managers and employees know about Occupational Safety and health and what they should know. The most devastating aspect is the gap in the area of hazard control and accident reaction. This undesirable knowledge gap can be reduced through effective training and effective communication. Safety Training is important to us because;

Safety training is the factor solutions in the prevention of work- related injuries, illness and death. - The safety training should be organized so that the order in which the material is presented will match the steps that should be taken on the job. Make sure every worker understands the training material; not just that they were present or a test was given.

When properly trained on safety procedures, employees will -Understand the importance of workplace safety while working hour -Know how prevent an any type of incident in the workplace by following workplace safety procedures that are given -Learn how to respond quickly if presented with a hazards situation.
