An inclusive, professional organisation which cherishes its roots

Hi everyone, ACE dance and music has loads going on, and we want you to join in! Our professional company is on tour from October with our new production ICE, and we warmly invite you to come along to one of our West Midlands dates; at the Arena Theatre or mac. We are also hosting a Youth Dance event in partnership with mac, showcasing some of the most exciting young dancers in the UK and France. This offers a much-needed opportunity to celebrate talented teenagers and have a great night! Please buy tickets to support ACE and our dancers, check out the events calendar forinformation. After a successful spring term and a brilliant summer school we now turn our attention to autumn classes. If you know a young person with a passion for dance, please point them in our direction! We run sessions from our studio in Digbeth, the first class is free for new members. For adults we are starting a Revival with vibrant dance and drumming, creating a sense of excitement and pride in African and Caribbean culture. This will lead to the creation of a performance group. Come to a free taster at The Drum, all welcome! Or turn up at our studio at 6pm on 18th October, have a nibble, watch us dance and find out more. Looking forward to seeing new and old faces. INTERNATIONAL DANCE COLLABORATION BETWEEN ARTISTIC DIRECTOR GAIL PARMEL & JAPANESE CHOREOGRAPHER AKIKO KITAMURA

Six quicksilver dancers: movement, music, film and light ICE reflects on how technology infiltrates our lives, set in a clinical white space with powerful visual projections, fast paced streams of movement and bodies frozen in time. As the performance starts and the temperature drops to freezing point, ICE allows us to preserve the moment, and dream together of how the future might be. As the thaw comes, do we cross over and become something else? Or are we forever crystalised. Is this our future? Be touched and amazed. ICE is raw, vibrant and full of expression. With cutting-edge Japanese style, precise timing, strength, control and fierce execution. MUSIC AND DANCE TO ELEVATE THE SOUL Visit events calendar for dates & times

Groups of 20 then signed up to take part in free dance workshops over the 5 days in half term 2010. All participants performed at The Link Dance Space on Thurs 3 March 2011.
