The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) requires that anyone planning to sit for a Level 2 or higher collection system (C) license examination complete and pass the 45-hour Advanced Collection Systems course. Specic topics will include: NJDEP rules and regulations governing collection systems Hydraulics and ow measurement Inspection techniques for new and existing sewers Math and calculation reviews Sewer cleaning, repair and replacement and Grease and odor control. The theory and science behind each topic will be explained and accompanied by examples of practical applications in the eld. A practice exam will be given and the results discussed in class. The class consists of 15 three-hour sessions which meet from 6:00 to 9:00 PM on Monday and Thursday evenings from January 9, through March 8, 2012. The course cost includes all textbooks and course materials.
This class has been approved for 45 TCHs for wastewater license holders only. Approval #01-100301-20 TCH Deadline - September 30, 2012

Please note that all registrants must have already passed Introduction to Water and Wastewater Operations. Those who have already taken Advanced Collections Systems may wish to take it again as a review for a C3 or C4 licensing examination. This course will provide a maximum of 45 TCHs for any currently licensed wastewater operator (NJ). Course Instructor: Jerry Haimowitz (PE, S-4, C-4, T-4 and W-4). Mr. Haimowitz has over 25 years experience in operating collection systems.
