Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) is in effect! The conference will take place from
September 21-24, 2011 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
Registration for ALC is open now.
ALC provides an outlet to highlight the mission of CBCF - to develop leaders, to inform policy
and to educate the public - by providing more than 85 high level, thought-provoking forums to
address the critical challenges facing the African-American Diaspora. Also offered during the
four-day event are free health screenings, a job fair, interactive nancial sessions, networking
opportunities and cultural activities.
This year, the Foundation is expecting thousands to reect on the theme: iLead|iServe. ALC
attendees will have opportunities to share their thoughts and experiences on leading and serving
- how and why they do it, the value of each, and the impact of each within their lives and their
communities.
The conference will use social media, a town hall meeting, brain trusts and personal interaction
to further encourage discussions and follow-up conversations among attendees.

NABOB is the first and largest trade organization representing the interests of African-American
owners of radio and television stations across the country. The association was organized in
1976 by a small group of African-American broadcasters who desired to establish a voice and a
viable presence in the industry and to address specific concerns facing African-American

he National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters, Inc. will hold its 35th Annual Fall Broadcast Management Conference,
September 21-23, 2011, in Washington, DC, at The Madison Hotel at 15th and M Streets. NABOB is the only trade
association representing the interests of the 245 Black owned commercial radio stations and 8 commercial television stations
around the country. Our member stations serve as the voice of the many communities in which we operate.
The Conference will present panels and presentations from an array of experts focused on developing ideas to improve the nancial
success and service to the community of broadcast stations owned by African Americans and other minorities, and to increase the
number of such stations.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Conference participants will hear from leading experts in all phases of the broadcast industry. For existing station owners, the panelists
will provide insights on new issues and new ways of addressing old issues. Our seasoned professionals will provide station owners
the latest knowledge and best practices for successfully operating one or a group of stations in todays very competitive broadcast
industry. The topics covered by our panelists will give an aspiring station owner a clear understanding of how to overcome the
many challenges that must be confronted in purchasing and operating a broadcast station.
