(a) The cartoon is trying to tell the people in Britain that to condemn the Appeasement Policy as it was only to benefit the Nazi Germany to achieve his targets as part of his foreign policies. In the catoon, Hitler was acting as a storyteller in a bar. The poster beside him was written with his plans. His 1st step was to break the Treaty of Versailles by exceeding the arms limits, in which he did to increase to 500, 000 men. For step 3, he supported Mussolini, the dictator of Italy, to take over Abyssinia using aggression. For step 4, he arranged with Japan for the same political ideology of Fascism and Nazism. For step 5, it was his plan to take over Austria, in which the LON had not reacted against Hitler. While for step 6, which in the cartoon it shows that Hitler was about to tick the step, was to scare away Britain from France and Russia. (b) Source B and C are different in saying the treatment of the Nazi Germany. In Source B, it states that Many people at the time of the september crisis thought they were only giving away the interests of Czechoslovakia, but with every month that passes you will see that they were also giving away the interests of Britain, and the interests of peace and justice. In Source C, it states that my main purpose has been to work for the peace of Europe and for the removal of those suspicions which have so long poisoned the air

( c) The source is reliable in saying that peace was maintained. Source D states, Be gald in your hearts. Give thanks to your God. People of Britain, your children are safe. Your husbands and your sons will not march to war. It is saying that there was peace. Similarly in Source C, it states, Now that we have got past it, I feel that it may be possible to make further progress along the road to sanityWe have only laid the foundations of peace. It is saying that after the Appeasement Policy, the people could make a progress to peace and freedom. The source is not reliable as it is biased. The source is an extract by the Editorial in a British newspaper, which was published on 30th September, a day after the Munich Agreement. Its purpose was to induce the people of Britain to support their British Prime Minister, Chamberlains idea of the Appeasement Policy. The source is a propaganda to tell the Britains that the Appeasement Policy was the cause of freedom and assured that there would be no more war ahead. Furthermore, it only provided a one-sided view. The source states, For the

Prime Ministers conquests are mighty and enduring millions of happy homes and hearts relieved of their burden. It is saying that the Appeasement Policy had allayed the worry of having an inevitable war. This source is thus biased as it is only a propaganda to the British people to support the idea of Appeasement Policy.
