WOODEN BOARD:- MUGHAL DYNASTY Wooden artifacts show the usage of wood as a material for writing and drawing.

During the time of the Prophet, wooden boards were used to copy down the text of the Quran. This was later followed by students studying the Quran and sunnah to practice writing. Usage of wooden th th boards can be traced from the 6 Century up till the 19 century. Wooden boards were even used in Malaya

BRUSHES, CRAFTING ITEMS, MUGHAL DYNASTY Islamic calligraphy remains one of the most renowned arts in the world. Styles of writing have evolved from Quraishy scripts to Kufic arts and Khat writing. The tools of the trade are crafted meticulously to produce art with close to zero defects.. For example, artifacts from the Mughal Dynasty unearthed brushes made from Ivory. The fur of animals were once used to make the brush tip.

In the early stages of Islam, Muslim armies were outfitted in full-plate mail and armed with swords and spears. The swords of the prophet Muhammad S.A.W , currently housed in Topkapi Museum, Istanbul prove the connection between designs of weaponry with future dynasties. Muslim armies favoured speed therefore they started adopting chainmail. Archaeological findings depict the development of the feared Muslim cavalry archers and th their weaponry, including composite bows and arrows from the 15 Century. Further studies uncovered early gunpowder weaponry which made the Muslim Caliphate and Dynasties one of the most formidable armies of the age.

Quranic manuscripts and other scriptures were commissioned by Royal Alteliers and played a central part to society today. Writings of Islamic scholars wrote masterpieces for example the Al-Muwattak and other books from the 4 great Imams that led to the creation of Mazhabs. Al-Khawarizmis works contributed to the growth of Mathematics and Physics and Avicenna led the growth of medical science. Malay scriptures like Hikayat Ali Hanafiah and Hikayat Nabi Membelah Bulan proved to be examples of Islamic tales that were passed down to the Malay Archipelago as a way of teaching.

I see artifacts as a sort of gateway to the past. A physical portal for one to transport oneself back to the past. Therefore by looking at Islamic artifacts, I transport myself back to the days of old, when Islam was treated with respect and honour. I suppose that is what Islamic artifacts act as for me, a reminder, of what we once had

I am proud of the Islamic figures who greatly contributed to world civilization today. They open up opportunities for other figures to explore science and technology. I am utterly impressed with past Islamic military equipment. No wonder they were a force to to be reckoned with.

Islamic artifacts and the Islamic Art Museum Malaysia provide us the true history of Islam. It is also one of the alternative ways to prove the history of Islam. It is a good place to be visited as it can remind us o the Islamic community from the past..,. Plus, The IAMM also provides various information about Islam and the Islamic artifacts for malaysian muslims.
