Advanced amalgam technology: The higher wattage versions of Biax™ 2D

incorporate the latest amalgam technology. Introducing a tiny amalgam
pellet into the lamp rather than liquid mercury means that lamp output is

consistent in any burning position, at either high or low ambient

Energy Saving: Biax™ 2D brings all the energy-efficiency and long life
benefits of compact fluorescent in a design conscious and highly versatile
format. With 10,000 hours average life and up to 80% energy saving over
incandescent lamps, 2D really is the ideal lamp.

Widest choice of wattages: The Biax™ 2D also offers a wide range of

wattages, from 10 to 55W, for most applications. Both 2 and 4 pin versions
can be used with standard or electronic ballasts.

Outstanding versatility and flattest format: The superbly engineered

shape of Biax™ 2D is unique amongst compact fluorescent sources,
enabling the design and production of fittings with much flatter, less intrusive
profiles. Biax™ 2D is suitable for a wide range of fittings, including uplighters
and wall or ceiling-mounted fittings, whether used in exterior or interior
applications and the same lamps can be adapted for functional emergency
lighting or more decorative installations.

Wide range of luminaires: Luminaires with 2D lamps are normally supplied

with starter circuits (lamps with built-in starter has 2-pin caps, without
starter 4-pin caps), which ensure correct operation at temperatures of down
to -10°C. If quick starting is desired, replace the FSU starter in luminaires
using 4 pin lamps with an electronic starter, thereby permitting starting at
temperatures of down to -15°C.

BRIO Emergency
Autonomous fitting for emergency lighting either for non permanent operation
(10W) or for permanent operation (16W and 28W), with built-in recharge unit,
sealed batteries.
The fitting is powered by mains and operated by switch like a regular light. In
the event of blackout, the luminaire automatically switches to battery power.
Regular mains power
supply is indicated by a small lamp (10W) or by a red LED (21 and 28W), which
also indicates that batteries are re-charging.
Batteries: sealed, Ni-Cd 3.6V with 1.2Ah (10W), 2Ah (16W) or 4Ah (28W)
capacity. Emergency operation guaranteed for 1 hour following minimum
recharge period of 24 hours at operating temperature of 25°C.
Inverter: comprises electronic recharging unit, with possibility of inhibiting
emergency operation by connection of terminals 1 and 2 (10W) or 11 and 12
(21W and 28W) to a remote switch. These two terminals can be disconnected
without battery discharge.

Recessed luminaire for BIAX/D/G24d/2p type energy-saving compact

fluorescent lamps. Lamps are positioned horizontally in twin-lamp models,
vertically in single-lamp models. Ultra slim height.
Type TOP/DBX 126 is equipped with built-in power supply unit housed in
polycarbonate compartment, the other types are provided with CSA power
supply unit as a special
accessory, wired for 230V 50Hz with power factor correction; fitted with jacks
for quick electrical connection.
Luminaires can be installed on surfaces, which are normally inflammable.
Body: lower part: white self-extinguishing polycarbonate V0-UL94; upper part
containing lampholder: black self-extinguishing polyamide V0-UL94.
Reflector: aluminised polycarbonate (99.90% pure aluminium for TOP/DBX
126). It is designed for low brightness and extreme visual comfort. Between the
Ø 190 louvre and the body, a clip-fit black polycarbonate ring can be found for
Ø 210 hindering of reflections, which must be removed when using other accessories.
