What are the living expenses in Germany for international students? Living in Germany is, however, quite expensive.

One of the conditions for being granted a residence permit for studies by the German Embassy is that you must prove that you will have enough money to cover your whole stay in Germany. Options to finance your studies 1) Blocked account with a German bank in Germany, amounting to at least 7,656 , marked with a special condition that only a sum of 638 will be available every month 2) formal obligation (declaration of liability) according to 66-68 of the German Resident's Act 3) German or foreign official scholarship If some one don't have bad habits (Smoking, Drinking, Parties, Girls etc...) then you can easily even live in 300Euro monthly in Germany, some time even less then that. Asif Bremen, Germany by Xiang on 01 Nov 2010 Keep in mind every state in Germany have different rules, even banks and visa officers are not strict in some states, The visa requirement is around 7,656 to show a bank draft of your name or account in Germany, but in some German states even if you have less money if you have reached in Germany your visa will be extended, but it is not the rule, it depends on area and visa officers. if your study is free and you will be allow to work as well, then you need to have around 7,656 for your 1st year, if your course is paid then full course fee + around 7,656 , by Xiang on 01 Nov 2010 Can I work in Germany as international student? As long as they do not work more than 19.5 hours per week, employers are not required to pay social insurance contributions for them, which makes them cheaper than "ordinary workers." The classic student job in Germany is taxi driver - an occupation that quite a few students find themselves pursuing even after they graduate. It's not unusual for taxi passengers to discover their driver has a doctorate in history or modern languages. But it's a student job with a noble tradition - even the former German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer was once a student taxi driver.

Hi, The real picture is different, then the above mentioned statement, in Germany most of the student work in McDonald, Restaurants, some Packing Factories, Pizza Shop, In my 6 years stay in Germany i have not seen a single student working as Taxi driver, taking License in Germany is not a easy talk, it cost more then 1000 Euro, and Taxi Drivers License are different then normal one. A student can only work 90Full Days or 180 Half days in a year, if you work with a non-Germany based organization then you may work more, but these people pay very less, i do suggest always work on papers, which gave you benefits in long run. For start off, I have a British nationality, but I live in China (incase it has something to do with my nationality or where I live). I heard from a teacher at school from Germany that their country offers free tuition for international university students. I would like to know if ......well......it is true, under what circumstances, if it is only any particular universities, if it includes subjects design or architecture......things like that. Thanks
