Looking at the first 3 questions from the questionnaire. It shows that out of the 10 participants that took part within the questionnaire, only 7 admitted to reading newspapers along side the remaining 3 participants that admitted they do not read newspapers. This may be down to the results in chart 3. The 3 participants do not read newspapers due to the fact that they watch their news on either the television, or they read up on the internet for example 'Hotmail' 'Aol' who broadcast big time news or eithen the websites linking to the local news. This could be down to being easier and faster for that type of person. Therefore I need to develop an idea and a technique that could help draw in the audience that choose these options to read my newspaper over the ones they do today. Going back to chart 2, It shows that the 7 other participants that 'DO' read newspapers read them on either 1 day a week, through to either 2-3 or 4-5 days a week. Thats good results, the fact that people read newspapers on quite a frequent basis throughout the week time. Gives me optimistic thoughts about distributing my local newspaper around the areas of which this questionnaire was conducted.

These are the next set of results from the questionnaire. In these results it shows from graph 1 and 2, what subject the target audience likes to see inside a newspaper and what they dont like to see within the newspaper. From each graph it appears that news is the most prefered topic within the paper, which was stereotypical due to the whole paper being based on news. Followed by entertainment. This to me would be a great line up throughout the newspaper. It gives the reader the chance to have a break from the in depth reading from story to story with a piece of comi, it keeps the newspaper from becoming too monotonous. This not only makes the reader able to read on without being disfocous it helps give the paper a good, strong and well known name for itself. People will think of this paper as the information packed source with some comical techniques that no other paper has to offer. The results show from graph 3 that people buy newspapers over other medias for example television and radio because they feel its more reliable. Having the same paper constantly throughout the years, gives off a comfort zone around the reader. Its a preference to buy that paper over all as they trust the resources within that paper. Therefore for my paper to become sellable over other medias, I need to think about the conventions others use and make them stronger within mine.

Here are the final two graphs from the questionnaire that I conducted for further research gathering for the newspaper development. As it appears on the first graph. 6 out of the 10 participants prefer it if the newspaper was to become more casual in comparison to other newspaper companies who produce quite formal and classy newspapers. Making my paper less formal and more casual, it may help me attract the target audience I wish to attract, which is everyone. Reasons why in which I say this, is because. Younger people don't tend to read newspapers due to the fact that they feel it is boring and gets a bit tedious to them. Making the paper more attractable to the younger people as well as keeping some formality to attract to the older generation as in graph two it shows that half of the participants came out to be over the ages of 36, will give a strong newspaper that could become quite profitable on the market.
