Editorial Blog Entry How we know human activity is causing global warming. We as humans know the planet is warming and scientists with the information they have a clear understanding why. Scientists have examined all the factors that can affect the Earths temperature. There are essentially three factors that could be responsible for recent rapid global warming: 1. the sun 2. Earths reflectivity 3. Greenhouse gasses. (edf.org) I do consider global warming to be a moral issue. I think that many people think about global warming. One issue that I think that people think about is the effect of global warming on our animal population. With the polar bear population especially. Global warming has caused the melting of the ice needed for polar bears to survive, the polar bear population is becoming less and less all the time. With global warming affecting more than just the human population, it is definitely a moral issue. I would think that Americans could achieve a better job in keeping the earth cleaner through the efforts of all who resides in their respective communities. Renewable sources such as solar,

geothermal and wind could provide up to 98% of total heating demands (Greenpeace USA, 2010). All communities need to come together and make small changes such as turning off lights not in use, winterizing their homes, and if affordable purchasing energy saving appliances. If the people around the world would practice these energy saving moves, the reversal of global warming could begin. Global warming is a large issue that affects both humans and animals. The moral position that is part of the reason why the earth is facing global warming crisis is not true. An industry, through greed, has played a significant part in the change in our climate. The toxic fumes are released into any area is dangerous and should be govern and controlled accordingly. I feel that it is society or humanitys responsibility by starting to keep their communities clean and free from known toxics that may hinder a growth of a new generation. (usactions.greenpeace.org). I would tell how the use of fossil fuel has resulted in deaths, water pollution, and air pollution. I would also add how changing to natural sources of energy such as wind and solar would diminish the effects of global warming. With greed and politics in the equitation, we may never see enough change to halt the warming of the climate as we know it. I, agree that in terms on how we obtain fuel today through fossil extractions, should be our industry first course of action of eradicating such toxics in the air. That would include gas carbon dioxide into our atmosphere. (usactions.greenpeace.org).
