COMPUTER Is an electronic machine that receives and processes data to convert useful information.

A computer is a collection of integrated circuits and other related components that can perform with accuracy, speed and according as indicated by a user or automatically by another program, a variety of sequences or routines instructions are ordered, organized and systematized according to a wide range of practical applications and precisely determined, a process which has been called by the name of programming and performing it is called programmer. The main feature that distinguishes other similar devices, such as non-programmable calculator is that it is a general purpose machine, can perform very different tasks, according to the possibilities offered by programming languages and hardware. PERIPHERAL AND AUXILIARY DEVICES Applies to all tangible parts of a computer; its components: electrical, electronic, electromechanical and mechanical; their cables, cabinets or boxes, peripherals all kinds and any other physicist involved. TYPES OF HARDWARE One way to classify the hardware is into two categories: first, the "core" which covers all components necessary to grant the necessary minimal functionality to a computer, and Furthermore, the hardware "complementary", which as its name suggests, is used to perform specific functions (beyond the basic), not strictly necessary for the computer operation. 1. Processing: Central Processing Unit or CPU 2. Storage: Memories 3. Input: Input Devices (I) 4. Output: Output Devices (O) 5. Input / Output: Mixed Peripherals (I/O) 1. PROCESSING: CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT OR CPU The CPU, Central Unit Processing is the key component the computer responsible for interpreting and execute instructions and process data. In modern computers, the role of CPU is performed for one or more microprocessors. PERIPHERALS Are the units or devices that allow the computer to communicate with the outside that is, both income and externalizing information and data. The peripherals are those that allow the operations known as input / output. INFORMATION INPUT DEVICES (I) In this category are those that allow the entry of information, generally from an external source or by the user. Input devices provide the means key to transfer to the computer.

-Keyboard -Microphone -Scanner -Mouse -Barcode scanner -Webcam -Stylus -Digital Camera INFORMATION OUTPUT DEVICES (O) Are those that emit or allow the information to go out resulting from the operations performed by the CPU (processing). Output devices provide the primary means, and disseminate information and processed data, either the user or another external source, local or remote. -Monitor (normal monitor) -Printer -Fax -Sound Card -Speaker -Digital Projector (Data-Show) -Headphones MIXED DEVICES (I /O INFORMATION) They are devices that can operate both ways: both input and output. -Hard Drive -Recorder and / or CD -Recorder and / or DVD player -Scanner/Printer -Floppy -Touchscreen (monitor)
