Secularism

Having read numerous topics about secularism which is really abroad and influential one I come across an article about the images of secularism in India, since it cannot be covered in just few minutes I decided to summarize my words into the following points. First let me give you a hint on the definition of :secularism from experts Secularism is defined as the principle of separation between institutions and the persons mandated to represent the state from . religious institutions and religious dignitaries So secularism has many positive and negative aspects in the . society to which it is applied So application of this idea in a country where the worlds most multi religion and cultural society dwell is a matter of special interest ,the challenges of castism, communalism ,and religious fundamentalism involving separatism and violence have been pointed out as the major threat to the implementation of secular policy in India , these things hindered and weakened the stability and smooth running of India's secular federal system which is the basic principle governing the national life of the . identity of Indian people India national movement was the biggest and the most wide spread anti imperialist movement in the world history because it was a movement of all patriotic elements from diverse regions ,language groups religious communities, castes and tribes , .urban and rural segments Inter communal and inter caste tensions and violence over the years have disturbed national peace and orders , to eliminate all these hindrances and bring people into a main single stream , secularism have selected as the primary tool for building a .compact , united society for national development

So today in the Indian society secularism is a sign of modernity , plurality , co existence ,rationalism and developing with a fast .growing multicultural society While every society must have some common aims which implies there must be agreed on and common frame work of law under which all peoples rights in a society can be considered . positively Thus the implementation of the secular policy in India has created a mood of equality , freedom , respect , and indiscrimination in such amulti religion society with no group being violated as religious or cultural minority, so India is a real example where the words most multicultural and religion society dwell under a single rule of law without any inter .religious clashes As a result of this today Indian people enjoy a complete independence from the barriers of class and caste , unity , equal opportunities in the job fields and utilization of the natural .resources The Indian constitution prevents discrimination on the grounds of religion ,caste ,sex, race and imposing taxes on the grounds of religion alone The constitution also establishes a single citizenship and ensures equality before the law and enjoyment of legal ,cultural and educational rights for linguistic and religious minorities In general secularism assures that human activities and decisions especially political ones not to be unbiased by religious influences with no special privileges granted to a religious group, so secularist entirely opposed to discrimination against people because of their religious beliefs, that is why life has become possible in a country where more than hundreds of .religions and cultures co exist Laws in secular states like India is put according to civil rights in the name of the people not in the name of the religion even if .it is taken from a religious book

My point of view towards secularism

First, I understood from this article that secularism is simply defined as the principle of separation of church or mosque and the state with a principle of equality before the law for people belonging to different faiths and sections of a society, thus bringing all its members under a single constitution and .government policy I do believe that the idea of secularism is not applicable in every society because of its concentration on the policy of complete independence from religion when it comes to decision making ,putting laws and the general political issues as there are strong values based on particular religious obligations ,so it not an easy task for some societies to give up such religion based cultures . and rules in an easy manner Due to this reason the idea of secularism may not enjoy a welcoming face from many societies especially the Muslim .world But in countries where it is widely accepted , I believe that people will enjoy with its social benefits ,i.e. equality , unity ,respect indiscrimination , and positive social interactions .towards a common aim
