1. Swami's Messages

Christmas Message
We shall quote Swami’s brief discourse on Christmas day. “I am killed by my children
on the cross. Revenge is mine. My revenge is not to kill them, but to kill their
ignorance. My most powerful weapon is infinite love. If you love me I will allow myself
to be loved by you so that at last you find that you loved yourself by loving me.
Similarly if you deceive me I will allow myself to be deceived by you and at last you
will find that you deceived yourself by deceiving me. Your real love is proved by
money only. You love your children really. Therefore you are giving your money to
your children. Similarly if you love me you will give your money to Me for My work.
This is the practical fire test of your real love. Prayers by words and meditation by
mind are just like the pickles (side dishes) in the plate. Sacrifice of a part of the fruit
of your work (money) and sacrifice of a part of your work at least consists, the central
bread in the plate. Both these two parts put together is called divine service. Without
this practical divine service there is no use of mere prayers and meditation. Without
the divine service if you are offering only prayers and meditation to Me you are
offering Me a meal plate with pickles only and without the central bread. When I eat
the pickles only My stomach burns and I become furious, i.e., the reason why I am
not answering your prayers and meditation when there is no service. Of course if you
are incapable of sacrificing the money to my work, at least sacrifice your work for my
work. If you are incapable of sacrificing both these, then only I will accept your prayer
and meditation, because you cannot do any thing more than that. In such case the
pickles offered by you will become pieces of sweet fruits and I shall answer you
positively”.

Good Friday Message

My father and I are one and the same. Father means the Creator who is beyond
words, mind, intelligence and even imagination. This Father is called as God and has
different names. Christians call Him as Jehovah. Muslims call Him as ‘Allah’. Hindus
call Him as ‘Para Brahma’. Buddha kept silent about the God because the God is
beyond words. But followers of Buddha misunderstood the silence as negation and
interpreted that Buddha denied God. This God incarnates on the earth. He creates a
human body and pervades all over that human body as current pervades all over the
metallic wire. Since God created His human body for incarnation, the God is called as
Father and the human incarnation is called as His Son. The electric wire is Current
because wherever you touch the wire it gives the shock, which is the property of
current. For all the practical purposes the electric wire is the current. Similarly the
human incarnation is the Creator or God. Therefore the Son is the Father. We can see
the human incarnation and we can talk with Him. We can touch and can live along
with the Son. Thus Vision, conversation, touch, and co-living are the four fortunes
given to the devotees. By any human effort God cannot be even imagined. But by
infinite kindness He is not only seen but also talks, touches and lives with us. If you
cannot utilize such infinite kindness of God shown to us and if you neglect the human
incarnation due to your egoism and jealousy you are loosing everything forever.
Neither you attain the unattainable God nor you retain the human incarnation that
approaches you. You are looser on both sides. Such human incarnations come to
various parts of the earth and they are Jesus, Krishna, Mohammed, Buddha, Mahavir
etc., Therefore Jesus is Jehovah. Mohammed is Allah and Krishna is Parabrahma. The
Electric wire is the current. The Son and the Father are one and the same. One should
not extrapolate this truth by saying since every man is His Son and so every man is
the Father. If every Son is the Father there is no necessity of preaching.
God has to come in human body only to preach the human beings. But there is
natural repulsion between the human beings as in the case of like charged particles
due to jealousy and egoism. The crusification of the Lord Jesus is the best example of
such jealousy and egoism. Holy Jesus suffered for the sins of the real believers of God
only. One of the basic ideas of the human incarnation is to suffer for the sins of
deserving devotees. For such purpose only the human body is selected for
incarnation. The human body of the incarnation suffers like any other human body.
Then only the real transfer of sins is fully justified. The incarnation can avoid the pain
during suffering by using the super power of God. But God never deceives the justice.
Therefore Jesus really suffered all the punishments of deserving devotees as any
other human body suffers and fulfilled the justice in the transfer of sins. This is the
real reason why the God selects a human body and gets identified with it. If it is inert
statue such suffering cannot take place. Though the Son is suffering on the Holy
Cross, but actually the Father who pervaded all over the Son suffered. This is the
essence of saying that Father and Son are one and the same. The Father does not
suffer for the sins of the wicked people who will not change at all. Those who are the
real devotees and those who served the Lord without aspiring anything in return are
only liberated from their sins. Such devotees never pray the Lord for the liberation
from their sins because they never desire that the Lord should suffer for their sins.
Therefore, they never agree for the liberation from their sins. If they come to know
they will object such transfer of sins because they are the real devotees of the God.
Hence the Lord suffers for their sins without any information to them. If you are not
turning towards the Lord, you have to carry all your sins with you and go to hell. If
you turn towards the Lord, He will liberate you from all your sins provided you change
and continue your future life in His divine service. His work is to bring peace in this
world and see that every human being gets the salvation. He wants the hell to be
permanently closed. But you should turn towards God without aspiring for your
liberation from the sins. You must participate in His service and yet you should be
ready to undergo the punishments of your sins as per the rule. You should not ask
Him or even desire for such liberation from your sins. Once you desire for such
liberation you are indirectly asking the Lord to suffer for your sins. In such a case you
are not His real devotee. He takes your sins and liberates you when you serve Him
without any aspiration for such liberation. We are sending herewith the photo of
Swami decorated as Lord Jesus. On this day Swami suffers all the pains which He
underwent on the Cross from 10 A.M., to 3.00 P.M.,

Religions are Rivers but Spirituality is the Ocean

All the religions in the world are the feathers of the same bird i.e., God with different
colours. There is only one God and there is only one universe. Similarly the man is
also only one. Man should aim that one God and he should belong to all the religions
in the universe. He should pick up the diamonds from all the religions and use in his
spiritual path. One can have love towards the nationality. Every nation has some
physical boundaries. The people who are living in that nation have that nationality.
Thus there is a meaning in the nationality because it has physical sense. But in the
case of religion and spiritualism there is no physical sense. Every religion belongs to
every man. Therefore in religious and spiritual matters all the religions can be used.
The human incarnation in every religion announces that He is the universal preacher.
The message of Lord Krishna i.e., Bhagavat Gita is for the entire world. The message
of Jesus i.e., Bible is for the entire world. The message of Mohammed is for the entire
world. So there is no need of conversion of religions. Just like in science the invention
of Einstein is useful for the whole world, every religious preaching is for everybody.
Different scientists belonging to different countries have discovered different
scientific inventions. The subject science contains all these inventions. If any
invention is removed the science become discontinuous. Similarly the spiritualism
consists of the preaching of the preachers belonging to various countries. The
spiritualism must be built up by the preaching of Lord Krishna, Jesus, Mohammed,
Buddha, Mahavir etc. Spiritualism means truth like science. Different religions are
following their preachers and they have taken the essence of their scriptures into the
practice. Such traditional practices are like different experimental parts of Science.
The scriptures of different religions are like the different theories in various chapters
of science. In science the student does not distinguish the scientist based on his
nationality. Similarly in spiritualism one should not have repulsion or attraction to any
scripture or tradition in the World.

The spiritualism requires divine virtues, which are emphasized in various religions.
The firm faith of Islam, the infinite love of Christianity, the tolerance towards other
religions of Hinduism, the social service of Bhuddhism and the non violence of Jainism
are important virtues of the spiritualism. These are the practical traditional aspects of
various religions, which are more precious than those scriptures. Tradition is the most
important essence of the scripture.

One must praise the firm faith of a Muslim on God associated with strict regularity
and discipline. People are worshipping God either in the leisure time or on a holiday.
But a Muslim worships God on every day whether it is a holiday or not. He worships
God regularly at some intervals of time whether it is leisure or working time. The faith
on God and the importance to God supercedes everything and every activity. This
aspect is a page in the book of spiritualism.

Another page in the book of spiritualism is a tradition of Christianity, which is the

infinite love. Bible says “revenge is mine”. The Christians love even their enemies
proving that love is infinite. Love is God. God is infinite and so Love is infinite. Such
infinite love can only attract the God. The proof of love is sacrifice in service.
Christians sacrifice lot of their money for the spiritual works. Their love is so unlimited
that they sacrifice money even to the spiritual centers of other religions. Even if some
religion is opposing their religion they fund the other religion and this shows their
love even to enemies. Their love in the family bonds is very weak. So the love is
stored in their hearts without flowing. This concentrated love in the heart flows
entirely towards God and so they sacrifice lot of their earnings for the work of God.
They do not store the wealth for their children, and they ask their children to earn
and live after certain age.

Hinduism should be another page. The house of every Hindu contains photos of
different forms of God. At the same time they find only one God (Para Brahma) in all
those forms of God. They treat the different forms of God as the different dresses of
the same actor. This indicates that there is only one God for the entire world and Lord
Krishna, Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha, and Mahavir are only the different dresses of the
same God. This brings the brotherly hood of all the human beings in the entire world.

Another page must be Buddhism. Buddha kept silent on God because Veda says that
God is beyond even imagination. His silence is misunderstood as atheism. He
concentrated on the society, which is entire universe. All the human beings in this
universe must be uplifted through right knowledge. Buddha means knowledge. Any
incarnation of God does the same work.

Jainism is another page. They do not kill any living being. The highest justice
(Dharma) is non-violence (Ahimsa). God has given life to any living being. What right
you have to kill and eat it? You can kill even a human being if he disturbs the peace
and justice of a human society. Lord killed evil people in that way. But to kill a living
being which does not harm you in any way is the highest sin. God has given sufficient
vegetarian food to all the living beings. Science proves today that non-vegetarian
food is not good for health.

Similarly there are precious traditions of other religions, which should be copied on
different pages of the book of spiritualism. It should be just like a book of science.
Spiritualism is the most important practical line to achieve the grace of the God. As
the Science is the universal subject, spiritualism must also be the universal subject.
The nations may have physical boundaries but the spiritualism is the single ocean in
which all the religions mix like rivers. Every human being in this world must enter this
ocean through a river and settle there as a sea fish. The man should not stop the
journey while he is in the river. He should follow the journey of the river up to the end
where he can find the sea with unlimited boundaries. The man is not moving along
with his religion and is becoming stagnant as a river fish only.

2. God has to come in human form in every generation

God has to come in human form in every generation because as soon as God exits, selfish
people misinterpret His message constantly. The misinterpretation satisfies the majority
of the people, which is incapable of practicing in the right path. For example God decides
that 70% is the distinction. When God exits, the majority of the students, which is
incapable of getting the distinction like to bring down the percentage so that they can also
have the satisfaction of the distinction.

A student who gets 7% wants to have distinction. Now the misinterpretation is given like
this. In the number 70 there are two numbers. One is 7 and the other is 0. Since 0 has no
value, 70 must mean 7. Therefore, the student getting 7% can get distinction. Such
misinterpretation by a mischievous teacher is admired by a large majority of students.
Now he is the greatest teacher with large majority of followers! This is the present
situation of false preachers misleading the vast majority. The distinction can be neither
given by the teacher nor by the students. The board of interview selecting the students of
distinction for service has the acknowledge of the distinction for which only there is real
fruit.

Hence, God gives the divine fruit only to the real distinction since He is well aware of the
marks of distinction, which were prescribed by Him only. Therefore, God had to come
again and again and also everywhere simultaneously (especially when there was no
electronic communications in the world) to establish the correct interpretation in the
entire world. This correct interpretation attracts only the merit students and the majority
consisting of incapable students will reject this. God is also not bothered about such
majority because even if the truth is established to them, there will be no use in the case
of such students. Krishna never preached spiritual knowledge to many people in His life.
In His entire life, He chose only one occasion to preach Gita to just Arjuna only.

3. Whether God require our service and love?

Swami: What do you mean by the real worship? Worship means service and sacrifice of
every body and every thing for the sake of the Lord so that the Lord is pleased by such
real love to Him. Worship means practical expression of the divine love or devotion
towards God. The main essence of such divine love is the sole aim to please the Lord and
not to please himself or any other related soul. This means that the essence of worship is
sacrifice for the sake of God and not sacrifice to please yourself or any other related soul.
Such divine sacrifice is like the light.

When the light disappears, the darkness enters. The darkness is the selfishness which is
extended towards ones own family or relatives or caste or Nationality or religion etc.
These are the grades in the darkness only because all this is related to souls only and not
to God. The darkness is getting diluted as you proceed from yourself to the society. The
weakest darkness is still not light. But since concentration of darkness is decreasing by
such dilution, it is appreciable. But you should not forget that you are still within the
boundaries of darkness only. Thus, the power in your social service cannot save the
society. A spoon of sugar cannot change the taste of the ocean. Only the Lord can change
this ocean of salt-water in to the ocean of nectar.

Questioner: How may I give the real love to God? You say by sacrifice of work and
fruit of work. What does this mean? How shall I work in service to Lord so that only He
may be pleased? And to whom shall I make the donation of the fruit of the work? My sole
aim is to please Lord only; there is no selfishness in it. Even if I am beaten in Hell I will
still love Lord and seek to serve Him.

Swami: The word karma in the case of a human being means the work done to earn
money, which is essential for his food and offering the food to the guest. Money required
for the self and his family is called ‘sareera yatra’ in Gita. Money required to prepare
food to offer to the guest is called ‘yajna karma’. The word karma in Gita was used in
these two meanings in the context of a human being (sareera yatra pichate, yajnah karma
samudbhavah). Therefore the fruit of the work means only money.

The first mantra of the first Upanishad speaks about enjoyment and sacrifice of money
(kasyasvit dhanam). The mantra says that the entire creation is the wealth of the Lord and
one should store the money for his minimum enjoyment and the rest should be sacrificed
to the Lord who comes in the human form for His mission to uplift this world. The
second mantra says that one should continuously work and earn. Vasista said that money
is the root of all this worldly family bonds (Dhanamulamidam jagat). When money is
absent all the family members will leave you. All the family members and relatives
approach you only due to money just like the frogs are present in the tank when it is full
of water.

The ‘Srichakram’ means the wheel that surrounds the money. Therefore when the
sacrifice of money comes into the picture, all the fraud devotees will run away because in
their hearts the attraction to the family bonds exists as solidified darkness. Only the true
devotees will stand, in whose hearts the darkness is removed and the light of divine
knowledge exists. The Lord came in human form and tested ‘Saktuprasta’ in the sacrifice
of the food, which is another form of money. In draught he could secure a little flour and
he was fasting for the past ten days. He was not tested in any other way of words and
mind (japa, parayana, dhyana etc.). A real devotee will stand in this root test and this is
the real fire test.

If the bond with the money is cut, all the worldly bonds are cut, since money is the root
of this whole ‘samsara’. The fraud devotees want to escape this test and therefore
interpreted the ‘karmaphala’ as the fruit of prayers, japa, parayana, dhyana etc. The eyes
in this world not at all see such fruit. Therefore such fruit of work done by words and
mind is unreal. There is no difficulty to sacrifice such unreal fruit. Therefore they
misinterpreted the ‘karmaphalatyaga’ as leaving a spoon of water in the plate after doing
such work by words and mind. Some people have fooled the ignorant people by doing
such works and get the ‘Gurudakshina’. They are selling the unreal fruit for the real
money, by promising that the fruits of their sins will be removed and results of good
deeds, which were not done, will be attained.

In the state of theoretical devotion any view is right, since there is no difference between
drinking two different drinks in a dream. The point is whether your devotion is theoretical
(Songs, Meditation etc.,) or practical (Service). The practical devotion is possible only in
the case of the present live human incarnation. When you are sprinkling rose water on the
shirt of a present live person, the person receives and enjoys your service. The shirt is the
human body and the person is God in present live human incarnation.

The past human incarnation existing as a statue or photo is like a photo of the non-
existing past shirt of the same person. You will not sprinkle the rose water on even the
existing shirt if the person is absent in it and not to speak of a non-existing shirt seen in a
photo. If you sprinkle rose water on a photo in which a person who is away in a foreign
country, it is also virtually the same.

Similarly the service to a photo of Vishnu existing in the upper world is as good as the
service to a photo of Rama who existed in the past. Krishna asked Arjuna to surrender to
Him only (Mamekam…Gita). Here Mam (Him) means the human incarnation. The word
Ekam (only) means the present live one existing before the eyes of Arjuna. It means
Krishna who was the contemporary human incarnation. Direct service to God is possible
only in the case of present human incarnation.

When you divert the service or practical devotion from the world (family and society),
which consists of the live human beings to God, the God must also be in live human form
so that the service like feeding is diverted practically from one side to the other side. If
your world contains only the photos or statues of your forefathers, who are not alive
today, then you can divert your service of cleaning the statues of your forefathers to the
statues of God. The diversion of service should be in the same phase i.e., either all in
alive human forms or all in forms of statues. There cannot be diversion of practical
devotion from one phase to the other phase.
Suppose you have offered ten kg of food to a statue of God and offered half kg of food to
your son, you cannot say that you have twenty times more devotion on God than your
son. Here, the comparison is not in one phase. If God comes in human form, will you
offer half kg of food to Him daily as you are offering the same to your son? Therefore,
the proof of diversion or transformation can be in a single-phase system only. Hanuman
left His alive mother and worshipped alive Rama. He did not leave His alive mother to
worship a statue in the temple or to meditate upon the formless God in a forest or to serve
Himself feeling that He is God. Gopikas left the bonds with all alive forms (parents, in-
laws, husbands, children etc.) only to worship a specific alive form, who was Krishna in
their time and one should note that Krishna was not having any relationship with them.

Questioner: Are you saying I am to leave behind everything (society, 'family') to come
worship and serve you practically in live human form? Are not the duties in regards to the
maintenance of the body and family part and parcel to the main divine duty?

Swami: You are working day and night for the welfare of your family. Then, is it not
your duty to work for their eternal spiritual welfare? By this if your family members
become devotees, they will not oppose you, instead, they will support you. Even if you
leave the family and go out, you have to live in association of devotees only. Ignorant
people leave the house and go to forest where even the normal behavior of human beings
is not seen and instead they see the animals and birds, which are always trying and
fighting for food.

Shankara left His mother and did not go to forest. He went to Shri Govinda Bhagavat
Pada to have spiritual association. Through out His life, He was wandering in the world
only with spiritual debates. I do not understand the significance of forests in the spiritual
field. If you say that peaceful atmosphere exists in forests, it is zero. Plus which is the
association with devotees and Satguru is far better than zero. Zero is only better than
minus which is the disturbance in the world.

Therefore, the sages took the advantage of zero and plus by living in forests together.
Hence, the association with devotees is main and not mere forest. If you can convert your
family members in to devotees, you need not go out. Thus, the obstruction in your
spiritual path is removed and simultaneously you have also done the work of God. It is
best because it is double edged due to simultaneous work of your self and God. In spite of
your best efforts, if the family does not change, then only you have to leave the family for
the sake of God (Yadahareva virajet….Veda). But this step should be the last resort and
should not be the first step it self. This problem becomes most serious if God is the
contemporary human incarnation.

Hanuman did not get such problems because His mother and father were divine with full
spiritual knowledge and encouraged Hanuman to leave the house to serve Rama. He was
not married and therefore the problem from the side of wife and children did not arise.
But in the case of Gopikas, the problem was very serious because their husbands and
relatives were ignorant also. It was a fire test for them because that was the last worldly
birth for those sages. The detachment from the world should be done carefully without
haste. As a last resort only the extreme step of sanyasa should be taken up for the sake of
God.

Once Sri Rama Krishna Parama Hamsa was killing the bed bugs present in a cot. The
devotees were surprised at that. He told that anything that comes as a hindrance in the
spiritual path should be cut down mercilessly. But He took such extreme step because the
bed bugs will not realize the truth even if He preaches the bed bugs. Similarly, when the
family members stand in the level of animals without realization, in spite of your best
efforts, then only you have to discard them to save yourself from drowning in the world.

A swimmer tries to help the person who is drowning. But in such effort, if he finds that he
is also getting drowned, he will leave that person and will save at least his life instead of
drowning of two persons. The word samsara means only the strong family bonds, which
are constantly penetrating into the mind day by day (Samsarati iti Samsarah). You have to
cross this samsara and not this physical world, since samsara does not mean this physical
world. If you mean this physical world, you can cross samsara by death and for that no
effort is needed.

The renunciation (Sanyasa) cannot come by emotions if the cause is quarrel in the family
and cannot be real if the aim is to earn the lively hood. Arjuna ( a devotee of God) wanted
to take Sanyasa based on emotion developed in killing his grandfather. Sanyasa means
detachment from the bonds of family. But Arjuna wanted to take Sanyasa due to
attachment to the bonds of his family members like grandfather etc. Sanyasa is a natural
consequence of the intensive attachment (devotion) to God. The emotion should be in the
devotion and should not be in the detachment from the family.

The emotion in the devotion will spontaneously detach you from the family. Shankara
(Human Incarnation of God) did not leave His mother just based on emotion or some
family problems like poverty etc. He left the house to go to the Satguru called as Shri
Govinda Bhagavat Pada and to proceed further for the propagation of the correct divine
knowledge in the world. Sanyasa should come as natural and spontaneous consequence
of your intensive interest on God. If one asks whether he should take Sanyasa or not, such
Sanyasa is not real because sanyasa happens naturally and spontaneously without any
enquiry or doubt about it. Shankara never had any debate about His Sanyasa from the
house. It is just like a mad fellow naturally getting detached from the worldly matters.
Will he discuss with any body that whether he should be detached from the worldly
matters or not?

4. Swami Answers Christian Devotee Questions

Questioner: I am a true Christian. I do not believe the human rationality and introduction
of God through the human body. Can you explain?
SWAMI: What is the meaning of human rationality? Does it mean

• What ever the human being says, rational (Reasonable) or irrational (Reasonless),
should not be accepted
or
• Whatever reasonably said by the human being should not be accepted.

If you take the first case, since you are a human being, what ever you say should not be
accepted, whether you say reasonable or reasonless. If it is the second case, you should be
accepted because whatever, you said is reasonless. Then you should be a mad person
because only mad people speak reasonless. If you say that you are not mad person, then
you should have spoken reasonable, in which case you should not be accepted, since, a
reasonable saying of the human being should not be accepted according to the above
version (b).

You say that God should not be introduced into a human being. Then you are not a true
Christian because Christians believe that God is introduced into the human being just like
the blood of father is introduced into the son. Christian believes that Jesus is the son of
the Godfather. If you say that Jesus is only messenger of God and not the Son of God,
then you are not a Christian and you belong to Islam. Islam says that a messenger is not
Son of God but he is only a servant of God. At this point only Christianity separated from
Islam. Originally both Islam and Christianity were one religion only. Islam treated Jesus
as the messenger like Mohammed. Christianity is separated from Islam because they
treated Jesus, closely related to God like a son to his Father. In fact Christians of higher
order believe Jesus directly as God because Jesus told the same " I and my Father are one
and the same ". This saying proves clearly that God and the human incarnation are one
and the same. Therefore, being a true Christian, you should accept that God enters the
human being or even temporarily becomes the human being. In both the cases, God either
enters or pervades all over the human being. In the case of human incarnation, if you
deny both these possibilities, then your Christianity becomes Islam and you are not at all
the Christian because you are denying the very fundamental of the Christianity.

In Hinduism all the three concepts are present

1. Advaita of Sankara says that the Lord and the human being become one and the same
in the case of human incarnation. Example is Rama. In this case God pervades all over
the human body.

2. Visishta Advaita of Ramanuja says that the Lord is present in the heart of human being
as in the case of human incarnation, for example Hanuman, who tore His heart and
showed Rama in that

3. Dwaita of Madhvacharya says that the Lord is separate in the heaven and sends His
servant to this earth as a messenger. For example, Balarama is the Adi Sesha who is the
servant of Lord Vishnu in heaven and is the human incarnation.
Thus, Hinduism contains all the three concepts. The first two concepts are called
Christianity and the third concept is called Islam. The Mahayana branch of Buddhism
worships Buddha in the form of statutes as God or the devotee in whose heart God is
present. In fact according to Hinduism Buddha is directly the Lord since he is treated as
one of the ten human incarnations of the Lord. Just like Christianity arose from Islam,
Buddhism arose from Hinduism. The Heenayana branch of Buddhism treats Buddha as a
preacher of divine knowledge and treats Him as an ordinary human being. This concept is
the concept of Islam or the concept of Madhvacharya in Hinduism. Thus, Hinduism is a
mini model of the entire universal religions. The Science represents atheism. Even this
atheism is represented in Hinduism by the sub-religion of Charvaka (Nastika Matam). All
the sub-religions of Hinduism are the religions in the world. Whatever is in the world, it
is present in Hinduism.

Universal spirituality brings the unity of all religions in the world and thus it brings the
unity in all the sub-religions in Hinduism also. Rationality is the essence of the science.
The scientist will laugh if you speak any thing irrational (Reasonless). Even in the small
matters of this world, we analyze with reason and logic before we follow it and we say
that we should not be emotional in taking any decision. Then how much logical we
should be in such great spiritual effort, if you want to attain real success?

In Christianity Jesus is called as Emmanuel, which means that God comes down from
heaven to live with us. Only a human form can live with us and guide us through
knowledge. The Popes at that time also did not believe Jesus as God or at least as Son of
God or even as messenger of the God. They did not like the God to be introduced in
human being as you say now. They believed only the dead messengers and not Jesus, who
was the then messenger. The same logic applies today also. You believe the messenger
who does not exist now. You do not believe the messenger who now exists before your
eyes. Jesus told that He would come again. It means that the same human incarnation will
come again and the same story repeats. The same Jesus is present today and the same
people who were blind with egoism and jealousy are present again today. Therefore, I
say, the history repeats. As Jesus was insulted, then, today also the egoistic and jealous
people will insult Jesus. Jesus will come in every human generation to give His direct
contact. Otherwise, God Jesus becomes partial, because He gave direct contact to one
generation only and not to the other generations. He clarified the doubts of one
generation only through His direct voice and now He allows the immature human
devotees to answer the doubts directly in the other human generations. He provided the
fortune of touching His feet in one generation only and other generations are deprived of
that fortune. This makes Jesus totally partial and you say that God is impartial. All the
religions also say the same. How can you justify this important statement that God is
impartial? Therefore, we have accepted that God is coming in human form like Jesus in
every human generation. To avoid answer to this, you are saying that reasoning should be
avoided. When reasoning is discarded, you need not answer any question. Whatever you
say that must be the truth. You are rigid without any logic and this is the blind
conservatism. This cancer is present in every religion and humanity is always is divided
by this cancer. You are opposing the unity of humanity and want to disturb the world
peace. God will not tolerate you, and you will be thrown in to permanent hell for
misleading the ignorant people.

If you see Bible, Jesus gives reason everywhere in His concepts. For every statement He
gives the reason. When the priests asked Him that He should not have saved the animal,
which has fallen in the pit on the festival day, He gave the reason for His effort to save
that animal. He analyzed the Old Testament and gave logical interpretations. He did not
mind to cut some irrational blind statements present in the Old Testament, by giving
rational modifications. He has fulfilled His duty to be the true guide of the humanity.
Whenever He leaves the world these rigid people twist and pollute the meanings of
scriptures. To rectify He comes again and again. When the teacher leaves for a few
minutes the class becomes undisciplined. The teacher comes to the class again and again.
For teaching, the human form is essential. A statue cannot teach you. If you think Him
formless, He is not speaking to you from the sky or space or air. The human body is most
convenient medium for the human beings to hear preaching of the God. The main goal of
God is to preach the human beings and correct them to put in the right spiritual path. For
beginners, He does some miracles as signs for His presence in the human body. The
realized souls will detect Him even without those signs. Sheep see the shepherd and come
near by recognizing him with eyes. Some milder sheep come near by hearing his voice,
which is a miracle. The mildest sheep try to go away and are punished by the stick of
shepherd, which is nothing but permanent hell.

Therefore, if you keep Jesus in the place of the present human incarnation and place the
same blind priests in the place of present blind followers, you can understand the truth
because the same story and the same cinema is repeated with different actors having
different names. This is the best way of understanding the truth. Those priests also
opposed Jesus, when He argued with wonderful reason. The duty of the teacher finishes
by teaching clearly to the class. It is up to the student to grasp it and pass or twist it and
fail following the sweet emotional advises of bad blind friends. The Lord is not worried
about the percentage of pass because there is no fault in His teaching. He should not be
blamed for the pass or failure of the students. A student himself is to be blamed. When the
messenger comes to the earth, he delivers his duty so that the God is pleased with him in
the upper world. He is not bothered about the fame in this world or the number of
followers. God will not find fault with the messenger if the human beings did not pass.
He finds fault with the messenger if the message is not properly delivered. Jesus never
bothered about propagation of His knowledge. His aim was only to sit on the right side of
His pleased Father after doing the duty assigned by Him. He never cared even if the
people rejected, insulted and even crucified Him. His aim was God but not the world.

For ignorant people the personality of Jesus is a human being crying on the cross and
shedding the blood. This personality will kindle the heart of any human being. Initially
this will be the attraction for the beginners. But if you stick to this personality only, that
body has gone once for all. You can now only worship an imaginary statute of His form
on the cross. That human body will never appear again in the same physical level. For
such ignorant people Jesus will never come again because the same physical body will
never appear again. Only an energetic form can appear to the eyes for a few moments. If
you say that you have seen the same physical body, now also, you cannot show it to
others. When Jesus was alive and some one told, "He is the Jesus", every visitor saw Him
with his eyes. Now that same situation is not present. The real inner personality of Jesus
is His divine knowledge, which is the Holy Bible. That divine knowledge is inseparable
characteristic of the inner unimaginable God. Then that inner God comes in another
human body. This divine knowledge appears again, as it is the inseparable sign of the
God. Jesus is the inner personality for the realized scholars. Similarly the beautiful
Krishna with flute attracts the beginners but His inner personality is His divine
knowledge, which is Bhagavat Gita. When Jesus told that He will come again and
Krishna told that he would come again and again whenever there is necessity that refers
to the inner personality. The unimaginable God along with His inseparable sign, which is
the divine knowledge, is coming again. This interpretation is reasonable. The inner God
by himself is unimaginable or irrational and is beyond reason. When such inner God
wants to give His experience to the human beings, He cannot follow the irrational or
unimaginable ways, in which case, He cannot be experienced. The purpose fails.
Therefore, the irrational God adopts rational procedures and enters rational medium to
give experience to human beings. God is unimaginable but His experience should be
imaginable. For this purpose He enters reasonable medium i.e., human body that can be
seen and touched. Only the human body can live with us (Emmanuel) and we can clarify
our doubts only with the human body.

You blame me that I am introducing God into human body, but what have you done? You
have blended God with the human body of Jesus and say that only Jesus is God. You say
that Jesus became alive again since the dead body disappeared. I agree. He might have
controlled His life for some more time. It is against the rules of nature and science, if you
say that the same physical body is alive even today. It is completely irrational because
you should show the physical body of a person even to a non-believer. Now to avoid my
argument you say that the rationality must be rejected. I apply the same argument even to
the body of Krishna. It was cremated by Arjuna and cannot return back. Of course the
Lord can use His special power to make it permanently alive. But that will violate the
rules of His own administration. All the rules in the creation are His rules only. No
sensible administrator will violate his own rules, when an alternative is possible. The
alternative is to come again in another human body. The body is like a shirt as told in
Gita. The person is not the shirt and shirt is not the person. Gita says that the God is not
modified into the human body (Avyaktam Vyakti Mapannam……). The person did not
become the shirt but He wares the shirt as said in Gita (Manusheem Tanum …). The Lord
wares the human body and does not become the human body. If you touch the shirt
present on His body you are getting the experience of the inner body. Similarly the inner
God gives His experience through the external body. You are blaming Me for introducing
God into human body but you have made the God to become the very human body itself.
You have made another mistake by saying that God is that particular human body only,
called as Jesus. It is a mistake because in such a case when the human body is destroyed,
God is not destroyed. The shirt is torn into pieces but the person is not cut. Recognition
of this inner personality in all the shirts of various religions, which are various human
incarnations, is universal spirituality. You may change any religion but you are in the
house of universal spirituality. You have gone from one room to another room of the
same house. If you go out of the house, then you have become atheist and then only your
case is miserable. As long as you remain as theist, you are in our house only. In whatever
room you may be, my advice to you is that you should recognize the same air, the same
space and the same light present in every room. Also, all the walls and roof of every room
are made of the same material. In whatever room you may be present you must realize
the truth and awake with divine knowledge, but should not sleep with ignorance. The
sleep and awakening are also common in every room. Every religion contains both the
ignorance (sleep) and the divine knowledge (awakening). Every religion contains the
same human incarnation having the same external physical body and the same internal
unimaginable God. Change from the ignorance to awakening in whatever room you may
be present.

You are not Jesus, who is the judge and whose statement should be taken without any
logic. Both of us are devotees of Jesus and the statements of both of us cannot be the
judgments. We have to argue like advocates in the court, to find out the true version of
the statement of Jesus. No human being has the right to reject the logic in finding out the
truth. The judge can say "No argument. Here is my judgment". But the advocate cannot
say this to another advocate. When the truth is found out by the mutual arguments of both
the advocates, both are benefited because the truth is now known to both. Therefore, you
should take My knowledge in the search of truth and should not take it as personal defeat
or personal success. We both are colleagues having a common aim, which is finding out
the truth.

Without medium no fruit can be achieved. Without the wire, you cannot move the fan
with the help of the electrons (Electricity) flowing in the atmosphere. Even for an abstract
thing, a physical medium of expression is needed. When you love some body, you are
giving a gift to him. The gift is the physical medium through which abstract love is
experienced. Abstract means imaginable but unseen. God is unimaginable and also is
unseen. Therefore, the physical medium is very essential for experiencing God. Even if
you treat the messenger as an ordinary human being, he brought the message to you from
God and He is the only person who can take your prayer to God. The Sun is in the sky
and the lens is on the earth. The power of Sun entered the lens. Both the Sun and the
illuminated lens are the sources of the solar energy. Both can be treated as one and the
same. If you insult a policeman, the I.G. feels insulted. Thus, God identifies Himself with
the servant. Adisesha was the servant of Lord Vishnu and came as the human incarnation
called as Balarama. Balarama is one of the ten incarnations of the Lord. When the divine
power (Holy Spirit) dawned on Jesus, He became God through out of his life. By this,
God pervaded all over the body of the Jesus. God lived in His body and so He said that
He and His Father are one and the same. When the body is ready for destruction on the
cross, God left that human body and so He cried " Oh! Lord why did you leave Me?"
Therefore, the eternal God leaves one human incarnation and enters another human body
for the next generation. Without the physical medium, one cannot directly approach the
unimaginable God and so He told " One can approach my Father through Me only". Here
the word Me means the human body and not that particular human body only. If God is
that particular body only, it was the God that was crucified and so God was destroyed
then itself. Then " Jesus will come again" becomes false. Here the word Jesus indicates
the internal eternal God through body of Jesus.
If you follow anyone with blind faith, who exploits you by kindling your ignorance and
emotion, one-day or other your inner consciousness will repel and rebel. Jesus never told,
"Follow Me blindly. Ask me no reason". Those priests told like that, and blind people
followed them and discarded Lord Jesus. But the preaching of Lord Jesus convinced a
few people. They always addressed Him as preacher. A preacher will always teach the
subject with logic and analysis only. Only military officer will say "No argument –
Follow me". God is fully capable of preaching through logic and analysis with fine
reasoning. What is the necessity for Him to stoop down to the level of a layman or a mad
man to avoid the reasoning? In catching the Lord you must analyze thoroughly.
Otherwise there is a danger of catching a false blind preacher.

Once you are sure of the Lord, your faith should start, which should be above the analysis
and logic. The reason is that He is above logic. But to filter the fraud preachers, analysis
is essential. Your faith should not contain logic, but it should stand on the firm logic. You
must achieve the faith through logic and stop the logic after attaining the faith.

The human incarnation is never accepted in past, present and future because the egoism
and jealousy of the human beings are never crucified. When God is fully revealed in the
human incarnation, people reject Him due to egoism and jealousy. If God is hidden in the
human incarnation, then also they will reject by treating Him as an ordinary human being
with negligence. Therefore, the human incarnation should neither express God fully nor
should hide the God completely. He should express the God to that extent only, which can
remove the negligence but should hide God to that extent, which cannot raise the egoism
and jealousy. The behavior of the human incarnation is thus a balance point of the
mixture. The human incarnation itself is a balanced mixture of the unimaginable God and
physically perceivable human body. The unimaginability or inexplicability of the God,
called as Brahman or Jehovah or Allah, which is expressed through the silence of
Buddha. Buddha kept silent about God to indicate that God is beyond the words and
imagination. Some followers immediately misunderstood Buddha as an atheist and the
most pitiable point is that He Himself is one of the ten incarnations of the Lord.

You can neither reach God directly due to His unimaginable nature, nor recognize Him
when He comes to you in human form due to negligence. The final result is only total
loss in any case. I pity this unfortunate humanity in this ultimate spiritual point. This
makes the souls to rotate in the cycle of creation continuously for the entertainment of the
Lord forever and perhaps that is the intrinsic wish of the Lord!

5. Spiritual Knowledge Should Come Directly From the Lord

The spiritual knowledge should come directly from the Lord. If He sends His messenger,
the messenger is not capable of delivering all the points as told by the Lord and is also
incapable of explaining in excellent manner as explained by the Lord. Therefore, the
knowledge delivered by the messenger is not as excellent as delivered by the Lord
directly. This is the main reason for the Lord to enter the human body to preach the divine
knowledge. But if the Lord in human body declares that He is the Lord directly speaking,
people become jealous because they think the human incarnation as human being only,
since they always see the external body only. They misunderstand that the human being is
claiming himself as God.

They cannot tolerate this due to their inherent jealousy and egoism towards the co-human
beings. To solve this problem of majority of the people, the human incarnation has to say
that He is only the messenger of God. Prophet Mohammad was really the human
incarnation. But he never claimed himself as God due to this problem of majority. He
said that He was only the messenger of God and that Q'ran was massage of God.
Therefore, this Holy Scripture belongs to the angle of majority. The devotees who can
realise the human incarnation are always very few only. To this minority the prophet can
personally say that he is God or at least he is son of God. The message to minority need
not be recorded, which can be orally delivered in person. Thus, Q'ran is a scripture for the
majority. On the other hand Gita was the scripture of extreme minority, since Gita was
told to Arjuna only.

In Gita, Krishna told that He is the Lord. Here you must realize that the Lord is speaking
through the human body of Krishna. In between the Q'ran and Gita lies Bible. Jesus told
that He is the messenger of the God, which is the message for the majority. He also told
that He is God, which is the message for extreme minority. In between lies the minority
for which He said that He is Son of God. Thus, Bible is the message covering all the three
phases of public, which are majority, minority and extreme minority. As we pass from
one end to the other end in the above order, the egoism and jealousy reduce from 100 to
50 to 0.

For majority dualism (Dvaita), for minority (Visista Advaita) and for extreme minority
monism (Advaita) are preached by the human incarnation. Thus, in Christianity and
Hinduism you can find all the three concepts. But in Islam you can find only Dvaita. You
should not mistake that Islam is incomplete due to absence of the other two concepts. The
merit in Islam is that no human being can claim himself as God and thus there is no
danger of false human incarnation. But in Hinduism and Christianity there is always
danger of fraud human incarnations. Again you should not criticize Hinduism and
Christianity due to this danger. Assuming the possibility of danger of accident, will you
avoid journey by bus or train or aeroplane? Thus, the positive and negative angles must
be understood according to the context. However, in Christianity also, the danger is
avoided because the Christians do not accept any other human incarnation as God except
Jesus. Hinduism accepts every human incarnation as God. Thus, you can pass from Islam
to Christianity to Hinduism.

There is no danger in Islam and Christianity. In Islam no human incarnation is accepted.

This is extremity to avoid the danger. In Christianity Jesus was accepted as human
incarnation but no other human incarnation was accepted to avoid the danger of
exploitation of fraud human incarnations. Thus, in Islam the concept was not admitted. In
Christianity the concept was admitted but was limited to Jesus only to avoid the danger.
In Christianity the statement ?Jesus will come
again? completes the concept because it indicates that the human incarnation is again
possible. Thus, the concept is completed in Bible. But by believing that Jesus comes only
at the end of this creation, all the other human incarnations till the end are rejected.

Thus, the concept is completed in theory but not completed in practical. In Hinduism the
concept is completed in theory as well as in practical. Gita says that Krishna will come
again and again whenever it is necessary (Yadayadahi..). This means that the human
incarnation will come again and again in several places and in several religions in even
one human generation, because there is necessity for such facility. Thus, in Hinduism the
concept is completed in theory and practical, but the danger is always full.

Thus, Hinduism recognises several human incarnations of Lord Datta (Krishna) as in the
case of Sri Pada Vallabha, Sri Narasimha Saraswati, Sri Akkalkota Maharaj, Sri Sai Baba,
etc. Hinduism recognises Buddha also as the human incarnation. Broad minded Hinduism
recognizes even Jesus, Mohammad, Mahaveer etc., also as human incarnations born in
different religions. The universal spirituality is such broad minded Hinduism which is the
broad minded Christianity, the broad minded Islam, the broad minded Buddhism and
broad minded science. The Universal Spirituality contradicts and is prepared to argue
with all religions limited with conservatism, provided these religions are prepared to
accept the truth with open mind. The science with conservatism is atheism. When you
realize all the three religions, namely Hinduism, Christianity and Islam, you will achieve
the total concept, which is the universal spirituality. All the
religions are different angles of the same central concept. You must observe the centre
through all the angles from all the sides. Then only you can realise the total
comprehensive central concept. Now you must see through the angles of Buddhism and
science also.

Buddhism speaks about the God present in the human incarnation by keeping silent about
God. Silence means that God is beyond words and imagination. It does not indicate the
absence of God. Buddhism is misunderstood as atheism. The time wheel (Kala Chakra)
and the revolving bright wheel (Sudarsana Chakra) indicate that the time is constantly
moving and that you will meet the death certainly one day or other. It indicates that you
should hurry in detaching yourself from the world and that you should attach to the Lord
as early possible.

6. Complete and Comprehensive Analysis of Soul

The individual soul (Jeeva) is a bundle of various qualities, which are different
proportions of the three basic qualities called as Sattvam, Rajas and Tamas (Nanyam
Gunebhyah...Gita). The material of these qualities is awareness or nervous energy called
as Chit and this material is known as soul (Atman), which is beyond these qualities
(Nirgunam) and the same is stated in Gita (Gunebhyascha param....). The individual soul
is always contains the basic material and hence can be called as Jeevatman, which is like
calling water-waves. The awareness is a special work form of inert energy and this inert
energy is produced by the oxidation of food. This inert energy on functioning in the
nervous system becomes the awareness. When the nervous system takes rest as in deep
sleep, the awareness is not generated in the deep sleep. In the state of dream, the
awareness is generated and the qualities play as the dream. In the awakened state, the
awareness is generated, which contains the qualities but the awareness is in interaction
with the external world. In the state of perfect meditation, the awareness is generated but
the qualities are subsided temporarily.

All the qualities constitute the plane of mind (Manomaya Kosha). These qualities may be
strong or weak. The strong qualities constitute the eternal Jeeva (Ajo nityah..Gita). This
Jeeva leaves the gross body in the death (Manomayah Prana Sharira Neta...Veda,
Utkramantam...Gita) and the individuality of the Jeeva is maintained which is eternal.
This Jeeva undergoes the enjoyment of its good and bad fruits. The individuality of each
and every soul is thus protected and maintained in this divine system of creation.
However, the weak qualities disappear after some time, which do not materialize into
actions. Thus, the weak part of Jeeva or mind is not eternal and disappears every day after
the deep sleep (Manastejasi... Veda, Natvam vettha..Gita). Gita refers to this weak part
when it says that Jeeva is born and dead every day (Atha Chainam Nitya Jatam...). Thus,
Jeeva is eternal as well as non-eternal in view of the qualities, which are strong and weak
respectively.

In the deep sleep all the qualities exist as impressions in the plane of inert energy. Mind is
the plane of qualities, which vary, and intelligence is the plane of qualities, which are
fixed due to decisions. The impression of individuality (Ahamkara) is also a quality only.
In deep sleep the mind, intelligence and individuality exist as impressions on a cassette
even though the current is absent and hence mind, intelligence and the individuality are
categorized under the inert nature only (Mano Buddhirevacha Ahamkara Itiyam...Gita).
The awareness-current is called as Paraprakruti, which is the Chit or Chittam. The
awareness is transformed in to basic inert energy in deep sleep and thus it is not eternal.
Even the qualities are not really
eternal because the Advaita Philosopher attains the complete destruction of qualities in
the state of Avadhuta (Manolaya Yoga). The Avadhuta after death dissolves here itself
completely and the individuality of the soul is forever destroyed. His awareness is
transformed into inert energy and thus such a soul is dissolved here itself (Ihaiva Pranah
...Veda).

In the case of an ordinary soul, all the weak qualities and the awareness are converted in
to inert energy in the body and finally the individual inert energy merges in the general
cosmic energy (Tejassati... Veda). However, the individual soul and the awareness
existing within the individual soul as the material is not destroyed, which leaves the gross
body to the upper world. But in the case of Avadhuta, the individual soul is also destroyed
because even the strong qualities are destroyed and the awareness existing in the
individual soul is also transformed into inert energy, which merges with the cosmic
energy. The Advaita Philosopher claims such complete destruction of the individual soul
as the complete salvation and this is the climax of foolishness! Burning the house
containing the rats is the final solution of Advaita Philosopher!

He removes misery of the soul by destroying the soul completely and forever! The
solution is to capture the rats with the help of a cage and live in the house with happiness
and enjoyment. The Advaita Philosopher praises the primary state of God or Brahman
before creation (Nirguna Brahman) and such state of God was without any entertainment,
which was neither praised by Veda nor appreciated by God (Ekaki Naramate..Veda). The
advanced state of God is association
of God with His own creation containing both happiness and misery like sweet and hot in
the meals. If the meals contain only sweet, one gets bored. The hot dish is created to
remove such boring and therefore you should like the hot dish also. You do not like the
hot dish (Misery) and you are bored with continuous sweet dish (Happiness). The
solution of Advaita Philosopher in this case is to fast by avoiding the meals completely!
The real solution is to enjoy both happiness and misery like God. God created both
happiness and misery to have real and continuous entertainment. If you are trying to
avoid the misery, you are criticizing God for His activity of this creation, which contains
both happiness and misery.

A person (God) cooked food containing sweet and hot dishes (created world containing
happiness and misery), served it on the plate (rules the world) and eats the entire food
(destroyed the world). An ant (the human being) entered the plate (exists in the world)
and tastes the food. The ant criticizes the hot dish and likes the sweet dish for some time
but gets bored with the sweet. The ant can neither cook nor serve and nor eat the entire
food. If the ant enjoys both sweet and hot dishes, the ant resembles the person at least
qualitatively in this one aspect of enjoyment. Similarly, the individual soul can neither
create nor rule and nor destroy this world. If the soul is able to enjoy both happiness and
misery with equal attitude, at least in this aspect the soul can resemble God in a micro
scale (Matbhavayopapadyate..... Gita). Otherwise, the soul does not resemble God in any
way and if the soul says that it is God; it is the climax of foolishness. The soul can attain
God at least in this one aspect and such attainment is called as Yoga (Samatvam
Yogauchyate..Gita). The human beings should understand that God creates this world for
His own entertainment and this is not for the entertainment of any soul. If some ants
criticize that the person does not exist, the criticism of such ants is not even heard by the
person. Similarly, God is not at all bothered about the atheists or theists who criticize the
misery.

The human being is like a tape recorder and the current in it is like the awareness (Soul).
The recorded cassette in it is Jeeva. A recorded cassette without current and the current
without recorded cassette is useless. The cassette may contain a good song or a bad song.
You have to replace the bad song by a good song in the cassette. Similarly, you have to
replace the worldly qualities by the divine qualities in your mind. You are trying to
destroy the cassette and tape recorder to
remove the bad song and you are not prepared to enjoy any song. This is the state of the
Advaita Philosopher. First, he is removing the song from the cassette by erasing it and
maintains the current in the tape recorder, which does not generate any song. Similarly,
he is erasing all the qualities from the mind and the awareness without any quality is like
the current with a blank cassette. After erasing the bad song, you have to record a good
song in the cassette. Similarly, after erasing the worldly qualities in the mind, you have to
fill the mind with devotion to the God. Instead of doing this, you are keeping silent with
the pure awareness (clean mind) after removing the worldly qualities from mind.

Your spiritual effort stopped in the middle stage only. First, you have to erase the worldly
attachment from the mind. First, you have to clean your house by removing the waste,
which produces bad odor. Such removal of waste is work (Karma) and this is the first
step in the spiritual path (Arurukshoh Muneryogam Karma Karanamuchyate...Gita). Now
the house is clean without any bad odor and in this state even the good scent is absent.
This is the intermediate state of pure mind, which is devoid of both bad and good
qualities, which is termed as perfect peace (Shama). This intermediate state is the pure
awareness without any quality and is called as Nirguna Brahman or pure Atman. Here the
word Brahman does not mean God. Any greatest item in a category can be called as
Brahman. Veda, the greatest among the scriptures is called as Brahman in Gita.
Awareness (Soul or Atman) is the greatest item in this world due to its special quality of
knowledge and hence is called as Brahman. This possibility of calling any soul as
Brahman was exploited by Shankara to attract the atheists towards spiritual path.
Remember that Shankara was surrounded by lot of atheists in His time. Shankara called
this intermediate state as Chitta Shudhi or purity of mind, which is a pre-requisite for the
knowledge and attachment to God. The cleanliness of the house is a pre- requisite to
sprinkle scent in the house. If the scent is sprinkled in a dirty house, there is no use of it,
because the good odor of scent cannot be enjoyed by any one in the house in the presence
of bad odor created by the dirt. Removal of every thing in the house refers to the removal
of bad material only. When Shankara used the word Nirgunam, it means only removal of
worldly qualities from the mind. If the ultimate aim of Shankara is only Nirguna Atman
or Pure awareness without any quality, He should have stopped His message with the
commentaries only. Shankara composed several prayers on God, which represent the
good scents to be sprinkled in the house after complete cleaning. You must take the total
personality of Shankara and should not confine to His partial activity of writing
commentaries only. You cannot confine yourself only to His composition of
commentaries and neglect His composition of prayers on God. The God referred in His
prayers was with qualities (Saguna Brahman) and this proves that the God associated
with world for entertainment is a better-advanced state than the primary attribute less God
(Nirguna Brahman). The commentaries represent the process of cleaning the mind and
attaining pure awareness by removing the worldly attachment. The prayers represent the
next process of filling the clean mind with devotion. You cannot enjoy the devotion when
the mind is contaminated with the worldly attachment, as you cannot enjoy the scent in
the presence of bad odor produced by the dirt. Therefore, the reason for your enjoyment
of devotion is only the cleanliness of the house as stated
in Gita (Yogarudhasya tasyaiva shamah karanamuchyate...). The perfect peace of the
mind after removing the dirty attachment to the world is responsible for the bliss that is
enjoyed in the devotion. Shankara, in His commentaries referred to the primary state of
God before creation, which is the perfect peace without any quality or thought. His
commentary was aimed at the atheists (Buddhists and Purvamimamsakas) who were
attached to the world denying God other than themselves. First, Shankara wanted to
remove the attachment to the world from their minds due to which only they were not
interested in God. If you want to change the ignorant fellow in one aspect, you must
accept to his other ignorant aspects. This is the psychology of ordinary human beings. For
any teacher, the psychology is very important which gives the tactful plan of removal of
ignorance in a gradual way. You have to remove the layers of ignorance one by one only.
When you are removing one layer, you must accept to all the other layers. Then only the
ignorant student will come in to your grip. For a preacher (Guru), the ultimate aim is not
to establish the total truth in the beginning itself, by which there is no use in any way. His
ultimate aim is to uplift the soul and for that, He follows the gradual process of removing
the layers of ignorance one by one and in every stage He accepts to the other layers.
Shankara, being the incarnation of God is the real Guru (Satguru) and His aim is only to
uplift the souls, which are His issues. Therefore, Shankara accepted to one point i.e., the
soul is God and there is no God other than the soul. Even here, Shankara being the top
most genius used the word Brahman, which stands for God as well as the greatest item in
any category. Shankara told that the soul is Brahman. Atheists took the word in the sense
of God and were satisfied. They became friends to Shankara and liked Him. This brings
the grip of the teacher on the students. Now Shankara proposed the primary state of God,
which is devoid of all qualities. It is obvious that God is having no quality or thought
before creation. Therefore, to become God, one has to clean
himself from all the qualities. Since, all the qualities in the atheists are worldly items
only, all the qualities mean worldly
qualities only in the context of atheists. Therefore, the word Nirgunam (devoid of any
quality) means removal of worldly qualities only since in the context of atheists, all the
qualities were of world only. After Shankara, this word Nirgunam is misunderstood for
removal of all good and bad qualities because the context of atheists disappeared.
Therefore, you can understand Shankara only if you can understand the context in which
He existed.

You are leaving the misery of the world and on attaining God, you think that you will
derive the bliss, which is the eternal happiness. By leaving the worldly attachment, you
have left the minus. Then, you have attained the intermediate state of absolute peace,
which is zero. Now on attaining God, you have attained the plus, which is bliss in your
view. The plus is a double minus in which, two signs of minus are arranged one over the
other at right angles. This double minus indicates that you have to work more and face
more misery in the service of God. The work and misery in the worldly affairs is very
much less compared to the misery in work of God. The plus sign indicates the cross and
the servant of God has to sacrifice even his own life to please God in the divine mission.
You need not sacrifice your life for the sake of your family at any time. Unless you have
developed the attitude of enjoying the misery, you cannot face misery in the service of
God. Sugriva lost his wife because Vali has taken away her by force. Sugriva did not go
to Vali to fight with him for the sake of his wife due to the fear for his life. His life is
more valuable than his wife. But the same Sugriva went to Lanka to fight in the war
taking the full risk of his life for the sake of getting back the wife of Lord Rama from
Ravana. Thus, one has to sacrifice even his life for the sake of God even though he may
not sacrifice the same life in any worldly matter. Jesus says that unless one is prepared to
carry on his own cross for the sake of the Lord, one cannot be His dearest disciple. The
plus sign appears as double negative to threaten you by its facial expression. The final
result of plus is not negative at all because its value is only positive. Similarly, if you are
prepared for the double minus and intensive sacrifice in the case of
God, you will derive the bliss at the end. God tests you to find out your attitude. God
wants to know whether you have approached Him for bliss or to work and do the total
sacrifice for His sake. Once God is fully convinced about the reality of your attitude, the
result is quite different from the test. Finally Sugriva was given a place in Brahma Loka
(Vaikuntha), where Sugriva lived with bliss. Ramayana is always taken as guidance in
pravrutti (worldly life) by taking Rama as a good son, good husband, good father, good
friend etc. Rama was always taken as a human being externally and the inner form of
Rama as Lord was always hidden. All the monkeys were incarnations of angels and hence
they could recognize Rama as Lord. No Advaita Scholar has become Brahman so far
except Hanuman who served Rama as the Lord in the form of the contemporary human
incarnation. Only Hanuman became Brahman, who still says that He is the servant of
Rama. Therefore, Ramayana, which gives the path to any soul to become Brahman, is the
only scripture of Advaita Philosophy in practical sense.

The total surrender of your self is possible if you know that you are a tiny part of His
movable property. A goat is a part of the movable property of the butcher. Every drop of
the blood and every bit of the flesh is the property of the butcher only. The butcher is
going to enjoy the entire flesh and blood of the goat and therefore there is no
individuality for the goat. Similarly, every atom of your gross body and every wave of the
energy in your gross body belong to the God. All your qualities (subtle body) and your
entire pure awareness (soul or causal body) belong to God only. Hence, total surrender of
your self is the complete justice (Tameva Sharanam Gachcha....Gita). To signify this
concept, the Lord is called as Pashupati or the owner of the souls, which are like the
animals.

7. You Are Not God

Veda says that the soul should be seen (Drashtavyah). In Gita it is said that ordinary
people cannot see the soul but Scholars with knowledge can see the soul (Pasyanti Jnana
Chakshushah). All this means that you can see the soul with the help of the analysis. In
the olden days there were no scientific instruments and therefore it means that the soul is
imaginable but invisible. By this you should not say that the soul is God because God is
both invisible and unimaginable. But today through electronic instruments you can see
the soul as basic inert energy. Exactly the soul is a special form of work done by the inert
energy in the nervous system. Work is invisible. If you take the soul as work it is invisible
but imaginable. If you take the soul as inert energy you can even see it through
instruments. In any case the soul is not God because God is both invisible and
unimaginable.
Soul is not God. God is not within us. God is only present in the present human
incarnation. If you are already God what is the need of spiritual effort. You are mere soul
only, and not God. Soul is a created item and God is above soul.

God is unimaginable, incomprehensible and beyond logic. The creation is the imagination
of the Lord. 1%(qualitatively) of His imagination was converted into 'pure awareness' and
does not contain God and 100% of this pure awareness has become the universe. Thus
God does not exist in the creation. The creator is above creation and is unaffected by it.

The aim of the creation was the entertainment of Lord. God enters the creation through
the finest item of the creation, i.e. human being. He enters the human body for giving His
presence to the world. By doing so, He is not modified into that human body or soul. He
is then known as 'Human Incarnation". He gives the facility of touch, talk and seeing to
His dearest devotees who really wished to serve Him. Only His devotees identify Him
and the rest will mock Him seeing His human body.

The identification mark of Lord in Human form is the 'True Divine Knowledge', which
removes our ignorance without any trace. He also does miracles whenever there is an
urgency, and not for 'crowd pulling' or 'show'. He Himself is the founder of the rules of
nature. By doing miracles He is violating His own rules, it is a violation of His own
administration, thus He performs miracles whenever there is a great necessity. He should
be identified by His divine knowledge.

God comes in every human generation in human form for the upliftment of Souls.

At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami

8. Soul can never be comparable to God

God, called as Brahman so far and to be called as Parabrahman hereafter (to differentiate
God from the Brahman is essential because the word Brahman is not confined to God
only and is used in other items like Veda, due to its root meaning of greatness) is
unimaginable. Therefore, the soul, which is knowable or imaginable, can never be
compared with the unimaginable God either in qualitative sense or in quantitative sense.
The water present in two cups of equal volume is equal in both qualitative and
quantitative senses.

The water present in a cup and the water present in a pot are equal in qualitative sense
but differ in quantitative sense. The qualitative comparison comes when the quality of the
two items is known. When the nature or quality of God is unknown, there is no
possibility of qualitative comparison. In the absence of qualitative comparison, the
quantitative comparison does not arise which exists only between two different quantities
of the same item qualitatively known. The soul is a work form of inert energy and work is
a form of energy. Therefore the soul is energy, which is inert in its basic form and such
basic form of the soul is realized in the deep sleep. The subtle body is nothing but the
work form of nervous energy or pure awareness and is represented as a bundle of feelings
or a bundle of various forms of kinetic energy.
This means that the subtle body is also inert energy. The gross body is also inert energy
because the matter of the gross body can also be converted into inert energy according to
Law of equivalence of mass and energy. Therefore the gross body, subtle body and causal
body (self) are nothing but a quantum of inert energy in the basic sense. Similarly, the
entire cosmos is also an ocean of inert energy in the basic sense. Now yourself as a
composite of all the three bodies is a drop of inert energy in the vast ocean of cosmic
energy. Eshwara is the unimaginable God covered by this sheath of ocean of cosmic
energy. You are a drop of that ocean of cosmic energy. Now there is a qualitative
similarity between yourself and the ocean of cosmic energy because both are inert energy.
But there is a quantitative difference between yourself and the ocean of cosmic energy.

There is no question of comparison between yourself and the unimaginable God either in
qualitative or quantitative sense.

9. The happiness losses its significance in absence of misery

The continuous happiness becomes misery. The happiness has its value only when it is
temporary and is interrupted by misery. The continuous eating of sweets, the continuous
scenes of happiness in cinema, the continuous winter etc., will bore you and turn
themselves into misery finally. The profit of even little money gives happiness to a poor
man but the profit of even lot of money does not give happiness to a rich man. The
happiness losses its significance in absence of misery and the continuous happiness itself
gets converted finally into misery. Therefore, the continuity of happiness is impossible.

The bliss can be continuous because it is infinitely multiplied intensity of happiness and
the very nature of bliss is continuity. Such bliss can come only from God and it can be
neither from the soul nor from the world. The soul gives only temporary absence of
happiness and misery called as peace. The world gives both happiness and misery and
none of these two is continuous. If you reach the state of God, which is called as
“Saadharmya” in Gita, then only you can derive the bliss from the world in which souls
form a part only. Such state can be obtained only from the true spiritual knowledge given
by Satguru along with His grace.

10. The human form of Lord has no obligation to see that every body recognizes
Him

The Lord comes in human form in every human generation. All people may not recognize
Him. Only a few devotees can recognize Him and get the benefit of liberation form these
worldly bonds. The human form of Lord has no obligation to see that every body
recognizes Him. Of course, He will try the level best to give His identity and to reveal
Himself slowly according to the speed of digestion of the devotees. The teacher comes to
the class and teaches the class impartially to His level best in view of the capacity of
digestion of the sitting students in the class with equal approach.

Some attend the class very carefully and get first class. Some attend with less care and
just pass. Some do not attend and fail. The student is responsible about his final result.
Similarly, some recognize the human incarnation as Lord. Some recognize the human
incarnation as a blessed devotee. Some treat the human incarnation as an ordinary human
being. For this variation God is not at all responsible.

Suppose, the teacher comes to a class in one year and does not come to next batch of the
same class, it is injustice on the part of the teacher to favor one batch and not the other
batch. Similarly, the human incarnation cannot favor one human generation only by direct
contact.

11. When the soul gains completeness?

The soul attains perfectness in the one-way traffic service to God. If the service is there,
devotion is there. Hanuman, perfect in the service, is the perfect devotee and scholar.

At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami

12. Why do not all see God?

No body sees God. God is not touched even by imagination. How can we see God? God
enters some medium and becomes visible through that medium. Through that medium
also you are experiencing only the existence God. Only experience of existence is
possible. There is no any way to see God directly. The current cannot be seen directly.
When it flows in a wire only its existence can be experienced.

At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami

13. What is the fruit of service to God without aspiring His love in return?

As I told, you should attain the perfectness in the one-way traffic in your service to God.
You should not aspire any fruit including His love. When you are not aspiring even love
what is the point of another fruit? Love is theoretical and can be easily given and the
other fruits are practical. When you are not aspiring even theoretical fruit, how can you
aspire other practical fruits?

At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami

14. What is the aim of spiritual institutions?

The propagation of the divine knowledge should be the sole aim of spiritual institutions.
If the knowledge is perfect, devotion will be strong and the service will be complete. The
duty of Guru is only to propagate the correct knowledge. That is sufficient. The spiritual
institutions should take the place of Guru.

At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami

15. In this time of kali, which human incarnation is to be worshipped?

Suppose you have identified some human forms as incarnations. Now the problem
comes; who is the real human incarnation among these? Suppose you have worshipped
all so that the risk of missing the real human incarnation is avoided. Suppose you have
taken one form and it may not be real human incarnation. Even then, you need not be
worried. Such human form may not be God but certainly he must be a very close devotee
of God. Since your filtration is to such high level, the other forms must be exceptional
devotees of the highest level.

Suppose you have taken such a strong devotee as human incarnation. I assuredly tell you,
that you are more lucky than the person who serves the real human incarnation. The
reason is that God is more pleased if such strong devotee is worshipped, because God
loves such strong devotee more than Himself. Therefore you will receive a better fruit in
quicker time. Apart from this there is also the possibility of the same God coming in
different forms in the same time. For example, Parasurama and Shri Rama and AkkalKota
Maharaj and Shridi Saibaba were simultaneous human incarnations.

At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami

16. Bond of blood

Even the bond with your child is unreal because the blood from your body entered into
the body of other soul. This external gross body is destroyed here and the bond is
destroyed with that gross body. The soul of Abhimanyu in heaven did not recognise his
father, Arjuna, for the same reason. The bond with wife is more unreal which is formed
due to touch between the two gross bodies, which are like the external clothes. The bond
of the child perishes with the death. The bond with wife may die at any moment with
divorce even with in the span of this life time, having a greater probability to give misery.
The Gita says the same (Ye hi samsparsajaa bhogah …). A realised soul will not entertain
himself in such unreal bonds (Na teshu ramate budhah – the Gita).

Questioner: What does the soul do with such unreal bonds?

SWAMI: In Pravrutti one has to practice the justice at the individual level and propagate
the justice at the social level for the peace of the world. In Nivrutti also, one has to uplift
at the individual level and uplift others at the social level. In both the fields the Lord is
pleased but the pleasure of the Lord in Nivrutti is infinite.
In both the fields, the obstruction for the success is also the same, which are the side
attraction and that is the attraction towards these worldly bonds. When the excess
attraction in these worldly bonds is reduced, one succeeds in Pravrutti. When these
worldly bonds are completely destroyed due to the intensive attraction present in the new
bond formed with the Lord, one succeeds in Nivrutti. In Pravrutti the attraction towards
the Lord is not required and here only the knowledge of the unreality of these worldly
bonds is only required. By such knowledge even if the worldly bonds are not cut
completely, at least the bonds become weak. In Pravrutti there is no need of the complete
destruction of these worldly bonds.

But in Nivrutti the complete destruction of these worldly bonds is essential, but the cause
for this destruction should be the new bond formed with the Lord (Eka bhaktih---Gita). In
fact the bond with the Lord alone can destroy these worldly bonds. The knowledge of the
unreality of these bonds can only weaken these bonds and cannot completely destroy
them. Therefore the Lord is personally required in Nivrutti for the formation of such a
new bond. The Lord in human form is the best for the real and complete formation of
such a new bond.

One should keep Nivrutti as ultimate aim. Pravrutti is like scoring the pass mark in the
examination. Nivrutti is like achieving the rare gold medal from the university. The
teacher who aims that all the students should at least pass should not advice the pass
marks as the goal. He will advise the achievement of the gold medal as the goal of every
student

In Bible, Jesus also adopted Nivrutti and He desired that His dearest disciple should hate
the family bonds including the bond with his life. Hating means that one should see his
family members as his enemies. When such extreme goal is fixed at least the blind
attraction in the family bonds is reduced. In fact these family members were really your
enemies in your previous birth. Since you have robbed their wealth, they have come to
you to get back their money with interest. This principle of justice is forcing you to earn
the money and by such force, you are doing the sins and get punished. When you rob the
wealth of somebody by force, you have to not only pay it with interest but also should be
punished. Thus your blind love on your family members is responsible for your sins and
the consequent punishment.

Mohammed does not mention Nivrutti in his scripture because He claimed himself as
messenger of God only. Nivrutti means loving and serving the Lord in person. For that
God in human form is essential. But Islam believes only formless God and therefore it is
not possible to love and serve the God directly. Therefore the path of Nivrutti has no
place in Islam. Pravrutti itself pleases the Lord and such pleasing the Lord is ultimate in
Islam. In Hinduism, Christianity and Islam the ultimate enquiry and the punishment of
sinner in the hell are common aspects.

17. Whether or Not to Leave Family

Dr. Nikhil told ‘My spiritual classmates did not become householders but I became the
householder. All of them are lucky to have salvation.’

Swami replied: ‘Only you are going to get the salvation because you became the
householder.’ Nikhil was astonished and asked for clarification.

Swami continued: The psychology of the people is to get attraction towards the things,
which are far and to get detached from the things, which are very close. Infact, this is the
general psychology of souls and even angels are not exceptional as said in Veda
‘Paroksha Priya ivahi devah pratyaksha dvishah…’, which means that even angels like
any item, which is far and dislike any item present before the eyes. This is the reason for
God keeping us in close association with worldly atmosphere and to keep Himself far
from us. Whatever God does is always meaningful and we criticize God without
understanding Him in depth. You should always be closely associated with the items from
which you want detachment. You should always keep yourself far from the items on
which you like to maintain your attraction. When the item existing away from you
becomes closely associated, your attraction towards it starts diminishing. This is the
reason for the repulsion towards the contemporary human incarnation, which exists
before your eyes. Similarly, the reason for attraction to past human incarnations and the
energetic incarnations of God related to the upper world is that these forms are not before
your eyes.

One day Radha came to Dwaraka from Brindavanam and Rukmini gave her hot milk.
Rukmini also was taking the same hot milk every day but on that day Krishna became red
due to heat. On enquiry Krishna told that since He is in the heart of Radha, His body
became red due to the hot milk taken by Radha. Then Rukmini asked the Lord for not
seeing the same effect every day since she was also taking the same hot milk. The Lord
told that since He is in the heart of Radha only, the effect was seen. Rukmini asked the
reason for the difference between her and Radha. The Lord told that since Rukmini is
staying very close to Him, her devotion was not as strong as that of Radha, who was
staying in Brindavanam far from Him. This story shows that close association always
leads to the negligence.

Two devotees were traveling to the city of Varanasi to worship the Lord Shiva. One of
them was attracted by a prostitute and stopped in her house before reaching Varanasi. The
other person went to Varanasi and worshipped Shiva for the rest of the life. Both died on
the day of Shivaratri. The person in Varanasi was always having mental attraction to the
prostitute. The person who is with prostitute is always having mental attraction to Lord
Shiva. Finally the messengers of Yama took the person who died in Varanasi to hell,
whereas the messengers of Lord Shiva took the person who died in the prostitute’s house.
All these incidents prove that the mental attraction is always on the item, which is far
from you and the detachment comes from the item, which is before your eyes.

When Narada asked about the address of a real Brahmachari, Brahma told that Krishna is
the real Brahmachari. Krishna is having sixteen thousand wives! You can imagine the
intensity of detachment that is resulting in His case from the family life and this is the
reason for His over attachment to God or Brahman. Brahmachari means the person who
is intensively attached to God. The intensive attachment of Krishna to God is clear
through the excellent Gita that came out from His mouth. Ofcourse, here you should take
Krishna in the role of an ordinary human being to take this message. Similarly, Vasishtha
married Arundhati and got hundred sons through her. But he claimed himself to be the
real Brahmachari and the river Ganges gave way to Arundhati when she uttered that her
husband, a real Brahmachari asked for the way. This again shows that the opposite
atmosphere around you creates real detachment from it. If you leave it and go far, your
attraction on it will become more and more.

Sage Vasishtha says that it is better to be far from worldly atmosphere to get detachment
from it. You may think that this contradicts the above statement regarding human
psychology. But it is not so as it is clear on sharp analysis. The statement of sage
Vasishtha does not apply to the stage of leaving the family permanently. His statement
should apply to a temporary period of meditation on God in the case of a householder.
The householder gets real detachment from the family being close to the family. Now he
wants to concentrate on God for sometime. For this purpose, he should leave the house
and go to a lonely place and meditate upon God for sometime. He can meditate upon God
in the atmosphere of the house. Therefore, one should leave the house for a short period
to concentrate on God in a lonely atmosphere as said in Gita (Vivikta Sevi…). But if one
leaves the house permanently and goes to a forest for meditation upon God, everything
fails. The concept of leaving the family forever brings tremendous attraction on the
family in the mind leading to failure of meditation upon God. Therefore, the statement of
Vasishtha in Yoga Vasistha should be taken for a short exit from the house and not in the
case of permanent exit. The statement in Veda (Yadahareva Virajet Tadahareva
Pravrajet…), which says that you should leave the house whenever you are detached
from the family, can be applied for leaving the house for a short period also. The spiritual
aspirant can control the mind and attain detachment from the family slowly by such
constant practice only (Abhyasenatu… Gita). Once the attachment on God becomes
complete, the detachment from the family becomes natural and spontaneous and there
need not be any effort for such detachment. After such detachment, one may stay in the
house but still he is not attached internally to the family like king Janaka. For such a fully
detached soul, even leaving the house for a divine program of propagating the spiritual
knowledge will not have any difficulty as in the case of Buddha and Shankara. Once the
internal detachment is complete, the external detachment is not at all a problem and even
if one is not having the external detachment, still he is completely detached soul only.
There is no difference between Janaka and Shankara or Buddha because in all these cases
the internal detachment is complete. However, certain people who claim the internal
detachment like Janaka without the external detachment can misinterpret this concept.
Such cheating the public is of no use because it is deceiving his own soul since one
cannot fool the God.

When the person is totally absorbed in God, even the surrounding atmosphere of the
family cannot disturb him in anyway as in the case of Janaka. Such person may even
leave the family like Shankara and Buddha for the propagation of spiritual knowledge
and devotion in the world on the order of God. Such exit is designed in the divine
program and cannot be taken as a step in the spiritual effort (Sadhana) of a human being.
Shankara and Buddha are human incarnations of God (Siddhas) and they are not to be
compared with the spiritual aspirants (Sadhakas). If the spiritual aspirant becomes Janaka
by slow practice as said above, such state is equal to the state of Buddha or Shankara,
provided the attainment of such state is real with reference to his inner consciousness.
Leaving the house for the propagation of knowledge and devotion should be done on the
command of God only as stated by Sri Rama Krishna Paramahamsa.

You have to tackle the Maya carefully with tactful approach according to the human
psychology. Otherwise, one will be insulted and thrown away by the powerful Maya.
Your spiritual effort should not be against the psychology of the mind. The detachment
from the family should be spontaneous without any effort. The effort means force and
mind cannot be controlled by force, which is already attracted to the world. Without the
complete attraction to God, if you detach mind from the worldly attraction, the mind will
rebel because it needs the process of attraction as its food. If the mind is immersed in the
attraction to God, it is satisfied with such divine nectar as its food. In the absence of
divine nectar of devotion to God, the mind likes to eat some rubbish food and it cannot
remain hungry without food. In the absence of divine nectar of devotion as the food of
highest quality, some food of even low quality is needed for the mind. When you are in
journey, you cannot get homely food, but you cannot also remain hungry without food.
Therefore, you will be eating some nonsense during the journey to pacify your hunger.
Similar is the case with mind. If your are served with homely food, you will not go for
bad food even by force. Similarly, if you fully pacify mind with the devotion, the mind
will not go for worldly affairs even if it is forced. The high quality food should be
sufficiently supplied to pacify the hunger. Then only your hunger is put off. Simply
tasting a little food of high quality cannot pacify the hunger completely. Therefore,
merely tasting the devotion of God is not sufficient to detach the mind from the worldly
affairs. The devotion should be completely injected in to the mind so that the hunger of
the mind is completely satisfied by the quantitative aspect also. Once your mind is
engaged in the devotion always, the worldly affairs cannot deviate you. This is the reason
for the diversion of the mind to the world even though the mind has tasted devotion.

The devotion to God should be based on absence of aspiration for any fruit in return. This
point is the life of the entire devotion. In all most all the cases the devotion is based on
the need for God’s help in the materialistic life or in getting protection from the hell after
death. Such need based devotion will lead to atheism one day or other because atleast
after sometime, God will keep silent towards such need based devotion. When God
becomes silent and the need for God disappears, the devotion also vanishes like the
useless tail in the case of human being in the process of evolution. The tail is well
developed in the case of animals because it is needed to throw away the flies. But when
the animal started walking on two legs and the two hands are well developed to throw
away the flies, the tail slowly disappeared due to the absence of its use. A monkey walks
on four legs and therefore the tail exists with full vigor to throw away the flies. When the
same monkey became the human being in the process of evolution, the hands were well
developed and hence the tail disappeared. If you see the physical form of Hanuman, it is
fully human form with well-developed hands. The mouth of Hanuman can be seen even
in certain human beings and therefore, it cannot prove that Hanuman is a monkey. His
mouth was as good as the mouth of a handsome human being and it is deformed when He
swallowed the Sun due to burning. In His case, the tail should disappear since it has no
use. But in His case, the tail is very long and very strong even though its need
disappeared. The tail represents the devotion without need or aspiration of fruit. The long
tail represents the continuous devotion without any break even in the absence of need.
The strong tail denotes the intensive devotion even in the absence of need. Thus, the very
physical form of Hanuman represents His path of devotion, which is very strong and
continuous even in the absence of any need. Even though there was no aspiration of any
fruit, God gave Him the highest fruit by which He became God Himself.

Veda says, ‘Avidyaya mrutyum Tritva Vidyaya Amrutamasnute’, Which means that one
can cross the Maya with the help of Maya only and can catch God only with the help of
true knowledge. This means that you can capture God by truth and sincerity only. But you
cannot win the world by the same truth and sincerity. The world is full of falsehood or
Maya. To reach God you have to cross this world by false means only. Therefore, you
have to learn both Maya and true knowledge to be used for the world and God
respectively. If you reverse, you will neither cross Maya nor attain God. When your aim
is God, the false means used to cross the worldly bonds are not at all false. Anything in
the direction of God is not at all false. Anything in the direction of the world is not at all
true. Ends justify means. A lie told by Krishna to kill Drona became justice. Even truth
against the will of God becomes injustice. Shankara wanted to leave His mother for the
divine service. He told several times the true spiritual knowledge to His mother.

But the mother finally wants Him to stay with her only. Shankara cheated her by telling a
lie that a crocodile caught His leg under water and forced her to accept sanyasa as His
last wish. He did not cheat her to allow Him to marry an unacceptable girl. In that case it
will be a sin. For the sake of God only, He cheated His mother, which is a right way only.
Similarly, Buddha left His family in the midnight. Saibaba told that the verse in Gita
‘Upadekshyanti te jnanam…’ (which means that the preacher will preach knowledge)
should be also reversed by introducing Ajnanam in the place of Jnanam, which means
that the preacher shall also preach about ignorance or Maya to cross the Maya. Unless
you cross the river, you cannot reach the village on the other bank. The guide who gives
the details of the village present on the other bank of the river must also teach you the
swimming to cross the river. Krishna knows stealing the butter and dancing with Gopikas
to attract them to get detachment from the worldly bonds and at the same time He is the
excellent expert in spiritual knowledge as seen through Gita. When the preacher gives
knowledge of God only, the Soul cannot cross Maya with the help of that knowledge.
Such a preacher is a human Guru who gives only theoretical knowledge without the
practical knowledge that is required in the world-laboratory. Only Sadguru can give both
theoretical and practical knowledge. He represents not only the scripture but also the
world (Vishwam Vishnuh...). Science is the knowledge of the world (Vijnanam) and is
unaware of God and hence, science can be also treated as ignorance (Avidya). Though
science cannot speak about God, it can disprove the awareness as non-God item of
creation. The Advaita philosopher, who does not know this ignorance (Science) mistakes
awareness as God. Therefore, the knowledge of unimaginable God can be established
only on knowing the science intensively, which can prove all the non-God items as non-
God items only. To cross the Maya of awareness, one requires the help of ignorance
(science) only and not the mere knowledge of God from the scripture.

You must know the nature of intelligence and the nature of the mind also to control the
mind. Though intelligence is higher faculty, it cannot control the mind by passing on the
orders as decisions. The mind yields to the decision of intelligence immediately but
slowly the mind proposes alternative (Vikalpa) and controls the intelligence by diverting
it into the alternative way. The mind is like the tactful wife who yields to the decision of
the husband on the spot but slowly diverts him to her will in course of time through sweet
proposals. To capture such mind, you must learn the same talent of the mind. Krishna
transformed Satyabhama slowly by not behaving like her husband but behaving like a
wife to her. You can cut the diamond by another diamond only and you can remove the
thorn by another thorn only. To teach this spiritual concept of intelligence and mind, God
created the man and woman with such different natures representing the intelligence and
mind respectively. When this concept is understood, both man and woman should take
the concept equally and get the spiritual benefit. There is no difference between the man
and woman in their three bodies. The Gross body is made of five elements, the inner
subtle body is made of three qualities and the innermost causal body is made of pure
awareness in both the cases. The compositions of the proportions of the three qualities
vary in both the cases to suit the above concept. Thus the firm intelligence and the
inconsistent mind are represented by the man and woman respectively and here both are
equal as actors but for their difference in the external assigned roles.

One actor need not criticize the other actor for external role. Thus, the man need not
criticize the inconsistent nature of the woman which is only a role given by God. The
man should also learn the submissiveness of the woman, which is also an external role
and which is necessary for attaining the grace of God.

Veda says that the five parts (Koshas) starting from gross body made of food (Annam)
are Brahman. If you take these five parts in the case of an ordinary human being, the
word Brahman stands for the greatest item in a category. The Sanskrit Dictionary (Amara
Kosha) allows such alternative meaning, which is derived from its root word. Gita also
gives the example for such alternative usage and Brahman is used to mean Veda, which is
the greatest among the scriptures (Brahmaakshara...). If you take the word Brahman in
the sense of God, then the case of human being will be the case of human incarnation, in
which case, every part becomes God just like the live wire is treated as current in every
part internally and externally (Antarbahischa… Veda). You cannot take the case of
ordinary human being and the sense of God for the word Brahman together and say that
every human being is God. Even in that way, you cannot say that the awareness alone is
God because even the gross body is said to be God in Veda in the context of Pancha
Koshas. Advaita, which restricts only the pure awareness (Soul) or causal body as God
cannot fit itself even in such line of misinterpretation.

18. What is the sequence of spiritual effort? How is it done?

A) Knowledge, devotion and service are the sequent steps. Service is the real proof of
devotion. These three steps are indicated by Sankara, Ramanuja and Madhva who came
in sequence. The practice of these three steps depends on your love to God. When the
divine love exists, your practice is spontaneous. When such love does not exist, the
question “how to do?” comes up.

There are two paths in Spirituality; Pravrutti (Path of Justice) and Nivrutti (Loving
service to Lord without any expecation)

At the Lotus Feet of His holiness, Sri Dattaswami

19. Meaning of Pravrutti (Path of Justice)

In this, people desire the welfare of their body and family. They love their bodies and
their families only. Their real love is not on the God but only on their body and family.
When that welfare is disturbed and when it is not possible to rectify it by worldly means,
then only they look at God. When you get fever and it is not subsided by the [medicine]
you used, then you are approaching a doctor. Thus God is only an instrument to achieve
the welfare of their body and family. They pretend real love on God, which is not real.
When you go to the doctor you respect him too much. That respect is not real. That
respect is only apparent and the aim of that respect is only that he will [examine]
carefully your disease. These people do not bother about tomorrow.

They don’t bother about the hell after death and about the next birth. Their aim is only the
temporary happiness confined to this birth only. They worship God for this purpose,
which is not true love at all. God also acts accordingly. He postpones all your bad results
to the next births like pro-notes with increased interest. He brings the good results from
future births with reduced values like the pre-matured deposits.

The Lord will not save these people in the hell. They will go to the heaven and when the
results of their good deeds are finished, they are thrown back to the earth. In the future
births, which are full of difficulties only, these people weep scolding the Lord. But the
Lord keeps silent, because He acted according to their prayers only in the previous birth.
In this field one can worship the Lord with single face, who is Vishnu, the embodiment of
Sattvam quality.

With this quality God will help you when you worship. But this quality always requires
justice and logic. Therefore, within the rules of the cycle of justice God helps you. He
will never harm you for your worship. In this field God in human form is not necessary.
God will protect the justice by His power. In this field the aim of the people is not God.
Their aim is only protection of justice and their families. Lord Krishna did not fight
directly in the war because in this field His power is sufficient to protect the justice.
Arjuna was charged with His power and Arjuna fought with the enemies. In this field the
devotees can worship formless God or statues and can get apparent and temporary
protection in this world.

Meaning of Nivrutti (Path of Liberation)

In this field people want God only. Their aim is the permanent association with the God
and not the temporary results in this world. They never care for the worldly justice. They
don’t care for their body or family bonds. Their concentration is always on God. Here the
justice is also crossed. Prahlada did not care for his father’s death. God came directly and
fought with the enemy in his case. Gopikas left every body and every thing for the sake
of Lord Krishna. He liberated them in this world itself. God in human form was required
by Gopikas and not by Arjuna. Gopikas wanted to see, touch, talk and live with the God.
The Lord came in the human form as Krishna for the sake of Gopikas only.

Arjuna wanted only the power of God to protect justice by getting back the kingdom.
Therefore, Arjuna worshipped statues like Siva Lingam and energetic body like Siva.
Lord Krishna was an instrument for Arjuna in achieving his kingdom. The aim of Arjuna
was kingdom and not Krishna. But in the case of Gopikas the aim was Krishna and not
anything else or anybody else. They crossed even the traditional justice and ran to
Brindavanam to dance with Krishna. They were unable to live for even one minute
without Krishna. In this field of Nivrutti the Lord comes down in human form and
donates Himself to the devotees. Such human form is called as Datta. In this field the
Lord has all the three aspects of Brahma, Vishnu and Rudra. He shows Sattvam of
Vishnu, Rajas of Brahma and Tamas of Rudra. In this field He gives troubles when you
worship Him. Troubling a devotee unnecessarily is Rajas and Tamas. In this field only the
real love on God is proved. When God troubles you after your worship and if you are
unable to leave Him still then that is real love. Thus single face Datta (Vishnu) is for
Pravrutti and three-faced Datta is for Nivrutti.

God acts according to the field you choose. In Nivrutti only He protects you from hell
and takes you to His eternal abode. In this field only He attracts the evil effects of His
real devotees and undergoes sufferings to save His devotees. Here the attitude of God is
not logic and justice but only pure love. But real devotees oppose this. Therefore, He
undergoes the bad results without their knowledge. The God circulates the information
regarding Pravrutti and Nivrutti to everybody so that nobody can blame Him later on for
their ignorance. Except the motto of information He is not having an intention to attract
the people into Nivrutti. He is not benefited in any way by doing so. All the benefit is
only for the devotee. The person following the Pravrutti always scolds the Nivrutti. The
reason is that he is unable to catch God directly in Nivrutti and therefore, discourages that
field with jealousy. When he is unable to succeed in that field he does not want anybody
to succeed in that field. He wants to close that field and wants that his field only to
remain. Such psychological jealousy is not good because God will punish him. Even
though he is incapable he should appreciate others and in such case God will help him to
come to Nivrutti. In nutshell God helps in Pravrutti with sympathy only and such help is
only in the apparent and temporary rearrangement of your good and bad results. In
Nivrutti the fruit is permanent and real and God really loves the devotees.
If you are unable to follow Nivrutti, please be in Pravrutti at least and never become an
atheist. You try constantly to follow the Nivrutti. You might have not reached the goal,
but you have left your station. Only a person who is always limited to Pravrutti should
worry. The attitude towards Pravrutti or Nivrutti comes from the accumulated Sadhana
done in several previous births. Such a person turns spontaneously towards Nivrutti and
the association of Satguru is only accidental. In the pearl shell one raindrop fallen
becomes the pearl. Even if 100 drops fall on mud pond, all the drops become mud water
only. Therefore, the deservingness of the devotee due to previous Sadhana is the most
important factor and not the close or long association with Satguru. One may sit on the
seashore for several hours but he has only a small tumbler in his hand. He can take only a
tumbler of water even after sitting for several hours on the seashore. A fellow may come
with a pot but he takes a full pot of water in 5 minutes. The Satguru rains His divine
knowledge on all the people impartially so that He should not be blamed later on. The
knowledge is essential like the rain, but more essential is the deservingness of the devotee
that developed based on his sincere spiritual efforts for the past several births
continuously (Purva Janma Samskara).

20. Selfishness

The most serious sin done in this world is forgetting the Lord who gave so many
facilities in this world without any selfishness. Even though people are praying the Lord;
their love is with selfishness only. The love is not true if selfishness exists. There is no
light if darkness exists. Therefore the human being is committing this greatest sin and is
receiving the result of this sin in this life itself because the sin is so serious! However, the
atheists are going to be punished in the upper world only for this greatest sin. The reason
is that they are used to examine the faith of the devotees of the Lord. Seeing the happy
life of an atheist in this world should not mislead a devotee.

21. Exposing the blunders of Advaita philosophers Part-1

The logic shows four types of authorities to decide any point. The first is perception
(Pratyaksham), in which anything is directly experienced through senses in this world.
The second is inference (Anumanam), in which anything is inferred based on a
characteristic sign. For example, smoke is coming from a mountain and fire is inferred. In
this authority also the perception is the basis because the relationship between fire and
smoke is already perceived in the kitchen. The third authority is simile (Upamanam), in
which an unseen animal is explained to us by comparing it with a known animal. Even
here, the person who is explaining has seen both the animals and thus perception is the
basis. The fourth is the statement of a well-wisher (Shabdam), by which we believe the
existence of an unseen item explained by our well-wisher.

Here also perception is the basis because the well-wisher has seen that place. Therefore
there is no authority, which is not based on perception. The scripture (Sruti), supporting
scripture (Smruti), logic (Yukti) and finally the direct experience (Anubhava) are
considered as the four stages of any authorized validity of a concept. The final stage of
experience (Anubhava) is very important and forms the basis because it is again related to
perception only. Therefore you cannot say anything which is beyond experience and
perception. Even the unimaginable God (Parabrahman) is experienced through human
form. In this case the experience may not be direct but the experience is through a
medium (Human body).

The experience is same whether it is direct or indirect. The heat from the fire is
experienced directly and the same heat is experienced indirectly from a hot iron rod. This
experience does not reveal the nature of Parabrahman because the experience is based on
a characteristic sign of the medium only which is specific to the existence of the
unimaginable God. Such characteristic sign is the specific special knowledge called as
Prajnanam. The knowledge is the property of a specific quality (Sattvam), which is an
associated property of awareness. Thus it is not the property of God and thus God is
untouched by anyone. Due to His presence, this knowledge becomes special and
wonderful by which we can infer the existence of God. The unimaginable knowledge
indicates the unimaginable God.

Thus we have the perception of human incarnation in this world and thus God is
perceived by us (Yat sakshat.., pratyagatmanamaikshat -Veda). Therefore science which
is based on the perception is the basis of the spiritual knowledge. The human incarnation
showing specialties is satisfying the basic perception. The unimaginable talents of the
human incarnation indicating the unimaginable God are clearly perceived. Therefore the
unimaginable God is perceived but the unimaginability is not violated. To deny the
unimaginable God is unscientific and shows only foolish rigidity.

Veda says that this entire world is a homogeneous entity called as Brahman (Sarvam
khalu idam Brahma). Veda also says that all the forms existing in this world are generated
from, maintained by and dissolved into Brahman. On scientific analysis it is clearly
proved that the inert energy can be the Brahman that is mentioned by Veda. Matter,
awareness, light, heat, sound, electricity, work etc. are the various modifications of the
inert energy. The inter-conversion of inert energy and all these forms is very clearly
proved. The awareness in a human being disappears when the food is not supplied. The
food (Annam) and the oxygen (Prana) combine to produce the inert energy. The food is
oxidized and energy is released. A part of this energy is converted into awareness in the
brain and nervous system. The reverse of this is invalid because awareness is not
producing energy or any form of the energy. When the food is not supplied, the
awareness is unable to produce the heat energy, which can maintain the activities of the
body. The awareness is also unable to produce even a single atom of matter. Therefore
awareness cannot generate any item of the world.

Moreover awareness is discontinuous and therefore you cannot consider that this world is
made of awareness. The awareness itself is the inert energy in its essential form and thus
constitutes the various items of this world or a dream. You can realize any item of this
world as inert energy by scientific analysis. To realize this world as modification of
awareness is only an imagination. Thus the basic validity of the authority, which is
perception and direct experience is absent in the argument of Advaita philosophers.

Exposing the blunders of Advaita philosophers Part-2

The Advaita philosopher is trying to become the standstill awareness without any
attribute (Nirguna chit). The attributes of the awareness form the state of mind
(Manomaya Kosa). When the attributes (Gunas) or feelings are absent, there is no
existence of the faculty of mind. This is referred as the dissolution of mind (Manolaya
Yoga). Such a person remains as the body of food and respiration only without mind.
Such a state is the state of plants and trees. Plants and trees are made of food and carry on
the respiration. The mind is very negligible and can be considered as absent. The Advaita
philosopher has kept this state as his final goal, which is the state of a tree. It is said that
one becomes whatever he desires (Yat bhavam tat bhavati). If this philosopher dies in this
state only as the final goal, he achieves the same state by taking birth as a tree. The state
of Avadhuta is a severe state of Advaita philosopher, where the person is almost in the
state of deep sleep.

In deep sleep the awareness attains the eternal basic form, which is the inert energy. Such
a person ending in this state shall be born as an inert stone which is the inert energy
present in the form of matter. It is not a curse but it is the desired state and is the fixed
final goal of the aspirant only. The aspirant aspired for such state and lived in such a state
for a long time and wishes to remain in that state continuously. Therefore one need not be
angry with Me in this point.

Both the above states (Sanyasa and Avadhuta) are the fruits of achievement of self-
realization in practice which is appreciated as self-attainment (Atma Yoga). The self
attainment should not be the end of your spiritual effort and is not the final goal. If the
self attainment is the final goal of this precious human life, the future birth as a tree or a
stone is inevitable because of the strong desire about it. But if this self-attainment
happens to be the middle stage of your journey, such attainment is appreciable. By such
self-attainment you are undisturbed like a stone. You are firm in your determination like a
rock. All this state is only a training given to you to make you fit for the service of God.
If you end with this training, there is no difference between yourself and a stone. To
become a stone is not the final goal. To stand firm like a stone in doing service to God is
the final goal. Therefore after attaining the self, we have to search for the super self,
which is available in the human form in your present generation. Then you have to serve
Him in His mission like a rock. For such dedication, you have to withdraw yourself from
all the worldly bonds and become like the firm mountain. If you withdraw from all the
worldly bonds and remain idle without doing the service to God, then you are just a stone
with awareness.

What is the use of such withdrawal (Pratyahara)? You are given training to become a
soldier. If you do not become a soldier and fight in the war, what is the use of your
training? You should not end with the training. The training must have its application.
The self-attainment is training. Its application is in the service to God.

The all pervading homogenous single phase of finest form of inert energy is space. The
space has no awareness as per the scientific analysis and as per the practical experience.
Then how can we say that awareness is all-pervading? How can we say that this entire
world is awareness? The awareness is an available item in the creation. Veda says that no
item of creation is God (Neti Neti). The awareness is a special form of energy
propagating in the nerves. It is in the form of waves, which requires space. It is a
definable item of space having the three geometrical co-ordinates. The awareness exists
in the awakening-state and disappears in the state of deep sleep. Thus it is bound by time.
God is beyond the four dimensional space-time model, which is the inherent essence of
the creation. Of course, it is very difficult to understand or imagine awareness
(Sukshmaya sukshmadarsibhih -Veda).

But it is not completely unimaginable. It may be unimaginable for an ordinary man. But
for scholars and scientists it is perceivable and imaginable. Gita says that scholars or
scientists can see it (Pasyanti Jnanachakshushah). But regarding God, Veda and Gita say
that God is completely unimaginable (Yasyaamatam –Veda, Mamtuveda na -Gita). For
any statement the direct sense (Abhidha) must be preferred. The indirect sense (Vrutti)
should be taken only in the case of impossible situation. For example, if you say that a
village exists in Ganges, you have to take the indirect sense because it is impossible.
Therefore, it means that the village is very near and is just on the banks of Ganges. Such
approach is called as ‘Lakshana’. The village and Ganges are visual items. The
impossibility rises here in visual items. But in the case of God, God is not a visual item
and thus there is no basis for you to think about any impossibility in an invisible and
unimaginable item.

If your decision is that everything is understandable to your mind, then such indirect
sense can be taken. Then you can say that the unimaginable God means the God who is
imagined with lot of difficulty. In that case you are contradicting Veda and Gita due to
egoism. Even Lord Yama says that he could not understand God (Kathametat Vijaniyam –
Veda); the Advaita scholar who shivers even seeing the messengers of Lord Yama is
boasting that he can understand God. Even though the best scholar and the best devotee
who is going to become Brahma (Hanuman) is not stating that he is God, our Advaita
philosopher who is ‘greater than Hanuman’ is stating that he is God! If every soul is God,
Hanuman being God should not have waited to meet Rama, the human incarnation, on
the instruction of his mother. If every soul is God, Hanuman can find any person as God
and need not wait to meet a specific human being, who is Rama, the human incarnation.

Exposing the blunders of Advaita philosophers Part-3

This world is essentially a homogeneous phase of inert energy, which is space as the
finest form of energy. The creation comes from space or finest energy. The space has
come from God. This is explained by Veda (Atmana Akasah). The space or the finest
energy is called as Mahat, which is infinite. From the space all the world gradually comes
out by the will of God. Even the space came out from God by His will only. If you do not
recognize God, the energy being inert cannot plan the creation. The link between God
and this space (Mahat) is unimaginable and is stated as Avyaktam. Veda mentions this
unimaginability (Avyaktam) as the intermediate item between God and Mahat (Mahatah
Paramavyaktam…). You should not fix this Avyaktam to a particular item only. It is
simply a word which means unimaginable and can be used in any context to mean any
item by anybody.

Suppose a student is unable to understand the higher concept. For him such concept is
unimaginable. Therefore the word unimaginable (Avyaktam) has a general sense and can
be used in any context. This word is also used to the subtle and invisible state of the
world in the energy as a micro impression also after the final dissolution of the world.
Similarly the word Brahman can be used to any greatest item depending on the context. It
can indicate anybody starting from God to the head of a village. Veda says that God is
beyond this link (Avyaktat Purushah Parah). Space is imaginable but God is
unimaginable. Therefore the link between unimaginable God and imaginable Mahat also
becomes unimaginable. Only the link between two imaginable items is imaginable and
can be understood. The unimaginability is experienced and the unimaginable God
identified with the perceivable human incarnation is experienced. Therefore the concept
of unimaginability is proved by the basic validity of authority through experience and
perception. Veda says that you can see God (Pratyagatmanamaikshat). If Lord Krishna or
Jesus is not seen and if they do not establish the concept of unimaginability through their
actions, the existence of unimaginable God can be ruled out.

Since there is only one Krishna or only one Jesus, you cannot say that every living being
or human being is that unimaginable God. Such dilution is only the effect of egoistic
demonism.

The first form of creation is energy. All the other items are the modifications of that
energy only. All the modifications may perish but energy remains eternal due to the will
of God. It is like the reel of the film containing the whole picture after the dissolution of
the world. No fool will destroy the reel at the end of the show. Therefore the reel is
eternal. But its eternality is based on the will of God. If God wishes, even the energy
disappears. The reel is not destroyed but can be destroyed. Such eternal finest form of
energy is called as Mahat by Veda and is called as Mahat-Brahma by Gita (Mamayonih
Mahat-Brahma). The Shastras say that Mahat itself means Brahman (Mahat Brahma iti
proktam). When the will of God is withdrawn, this entire world along with the souls and
their corresponding attributes become a static impression on the inert energy and is
retained in the state of Avyaktam.

In this state both good and bad attributes or feelings are static and inert and therefore
become equal. A good deed painted as a picture on a paper is equal to a bad deed painted
on a paper. There is no difference between good and bad in this state. This is the
equilibrium state of the good (Sattvam) and bad (Rajas and Tamas) qualities before and
after the creation. This is the meaning of the equilibrium state of the three qualities as
mentioned in the Sankhya philosophy. If the qualities are associated with awareness,
certainly a bad feeling or a bad action cannot be equal to a good feeling or a good action.
The equilibrium state certainly means the state of the good and bad qualities as inert
impressions in the basic phase of inert energy. Such a state results in the deep sleep. This
finest primary energy is called as Mula Maya or Mahat-Brahma or Karya-Brahma or
Hiranya-Garbha.

Since it is the first greatest item of creation and since it is infinite, it is called as Mahat-
Brahma. Since it is the generated product or effect, it is called as Karya-Brahma. Since
God is hidden as root cause in this energy, it is called as Hiranya-Garbha. The word
Hiranya indicates the most precious God and the word Garbha indicates the
unimaginability of God. It is called as Mula Maya because it is the root cause of this
universe up to which only one can analyze. God is called as Mula Mulam which means
the root of the root. The word Maya means the wonderful capability or potentiality of this
energy by the will of God. This energy again stands as the medium for the will of God.
The wonderful design of the world created by this energy indicates the wonderful will of
God. No soul can cross this Mula Maya because the soul can be transformed into this
basic inert energy at the maximum.

It cannot be beyond itself. Only God who is the generator of this energy can be the
original creator. The modifications of this energy like matter, awareness, light etc.
constitute the second plane called as Maha Maya. A soul can cross this Maha Maya at the
maximum. He can create matter from the existing inert energy. He can create awareness
(life) from the existing inert energy. He can create light, heat etc. from this inert energy.
These are the super natural powers which are responsible for miracles (Ashta siddhis). He
cannot create the primary energy and thus cannot be the original creator. He is the creator
at the secondary level and therefore can be called as secondary creator. In the third level,
the feelings are generated from the awareness. The forms are generated from the matter.
These forms and feelings constitute the third level called as Maya. Any soul has the
power to cross this Maya. Anybody can produce any form from the matter. Anybody can
produce any feeling from his awareness. When a devotee blessed by God with super
powers has created a golden pot, it indicates his level beyond the third and second planes.
The gold is produced from the existing energy and this shows that he controlled the Maha
Maya. When that pot is produced from that Gold that shows that he controlled Maya. But
he cannot create the primary energy from which the gold and pot are produced.

At this point you cannot differentiate the human incarnation from a devotee. If the human
incarnation has to produce this primary energy, first He must dissolve all the existing
primary energy. After such dissolution, the soul disappears. You cannot exist to see the
creation of that primary energy. Even after the creation of primary energy, you are
existing as an inert impression in the inert energy and thus cannot understand anything.
Only when this primary energy is transformed into awareness, you are able to understand
anything. Therefore the transformation of inert energy into awareness cannot be also
understood by you in the process of creation. You can only understand this transformation
by observing the dissolution of awareness on stopping the supply of inert energy in the
form of food. Therefore any devotee can be blessed to cross Maya and Maha Maya at the
most but can never cross Mula Maya because in such state the souls disappear along with
the entire universe. When Lord Krishna was taking the parched rice form Sudama,
Rukmini restricted the Lord while taking the rice for the third time.

If Lord takes the rice for the third time also Sudama will cross the Mula Maya and will
become the original creator, manager and destroyer of the primary energy. A soul being
the primary energy in its essential form cannot go beyond the very inert energy. Therefore
it is impossible for any soul to create, manage and destroy the Mula Maya. Sudama was
blessed to cross the two levels of Maya and Maha Maya. When he crossed the first level,
he crossed the illusion of forms and qualities while living with them. When he crossed
the second level, he attained all the superpowers. The Lord was ready to give up the
original creatorship also, but since the soul cannot perform that activity, it was restricted.
When the Lord is prepared to become your servant through your practical devotion, what
is the necessity of becoming the Lord? When the doctor is becoming your servant to
perform the operation, why should you wish to become the doctor? When you can attain
the higher fruit than Advaita, what is the necessity of aiming at Advaita, in which state
you have to perform the tremendous duties of creation, management and dissolution of
the universe? Such duties are impossible to any soul and are also unnecessary headache,
when there is a possibility of becoming the master of God through the real, practical
devotion. God becomes servant of His servants.

Exposing the blunders of Advaita philosophers Part-4

A human being is exactly regenerated by science, today, in the form of a robot. Several
microprocessors simultaneously function and identify the object in a single instance like
the human brain. The chip of information present in the robot is the subtle body of the
human being. According to science, which does not believe in previous birth, the
information in the chip is gathered by the brain in course of time as the child grows by
observing the world. In a dead body since this chip of information (Subtle Body) escapes
as Jiva, it is very difficult to exactly reproduce the same chip and introduce into the dead
body. Therefore, it is very difficult to make the dead body alive to behave exactly as the
previous person.

The Jiva contains the information collected in the previous millions of births. Therefore,
the regeneration of the chip is impossible which means to bring back the same dead
person is impossible. This point indicates only the difficulty in the process and thus is not
related to the concept of God. It is only an impossibility within the limits of Science.
Christianity and Islam which do not believe the previous birth or future rebirth are in
agreement with science in this aspect because the escaped chip will never come back to
the earth. Science says that the chip disappears along with the life. But there are several
practical examples in the world in which souls have remembered the past births and
narrated the past events correctly.

Thus the rebirth is proved based on the perception. Whatever may be the case, the human
being is exactly reproduced in toto by the scientists in the form of a robot, whether the
brain-chip has received information from the previous birth or from external world in this
birth. All the potentiality of awareness is exhibited in toto by the robot. This has clearly
proved that any human being is a created item only and not the creator. This rejects the
view of Advaita philosopher who says that every living being is Brahman or God, the
creator. However science is good as far as this achievement is considered but some
scientists who are atheists say that no human being is God because God does not exist.
Science is good and most of the scientists are also good because even the top scientists
like Einstein believed in God. The scientist who is not the perfect scholar in science talks
like an atheist.

The superman like Krishna or Jesus is a perceived example in this world. Even though
the scientist is able to produce robot, who represents any ordinary human being, why is
science unable to produce the robot resembling Krishna or Jesus? Jesus gave the eyesight
to blind. But the robot cannot do that. The super powers are impossible for a robot.
Therefore science is used to reject the philosophy of Advaita scholar but the same science
is to be condemned in the case of superman. The logic of science is used to refuse the
logical items like human beings to be called as God. But the same science is to be
condemned if it says that there is no God or human incarnation (superman). The logic is
used to reject the items of creation to be called as God. But the same logic is to be
rejected to analyze God, who is beyond logic. The superman is exhibiting the
superpowers before our eyes.

If science rejects the perception of superman, then the perception of the entire world
should also be rejected. Thus science is utilized in one context and is criticized in another
context. Ghatotkacha was a demon having both good and bad qualities. He was utilized
by the Lord to kill Alambusa who was a demon with all bad qualities only. But
Ghatotkacha cannot be excused for his partial bad qualities. Therefore the Lord planned
in such a way that Karna kills Ghatotkacha. Karna is having all good qualities except a
very few bad qualities. Therefore even Karna cannot be excused and was killed by Arjuna
according to the instruction of the Lord. Therefore science is used to analyze any item of
the creation. Science is perfectly useful in rejecting the items of creation, which are not
God. But the same science is to be rejected when the concept of creator is approached,
because the logic fails in God. In fact, science is only a subject which is limited to the
analysis of the creation. It keeps silent about God because it cannot analyze God.
Therefore there is nothing wrong with science.

Some scientists oppose God and this does not mean that science opposes God. Buddha
kept silent about God because God is unimaginable. He preached about the spiritual
efforts of the human being because the human beings and their efforts are imaginable
entities. The silence of Buddha was misinterpreted by the followers and Buddhists say
that Buddha did not accept God. The same situation is true in the case of science also.
Therefore there is nothing wrong with science because only some scientists are wrong. If
science is absent, we cannot analyze the awareness so clearly and we might have been
misled by the followers of Advaita and we might have thought that awareness is God.
You must maintain the power of logic always as far as the items of the world including
human beings are concerned.

You have to leave logic only in the case of God. Science helps you to identify what is not
God and this itself is a great advantage. Otherwise you will be fooled by others since you
can easily be trapped by others so that you can easily believe any item of the creation as
God. Today there are several spiritual preachers who do not know the fundamentals of
science. They believe certain items of the creation as God because their analytical faculty
is weak due to lack of scientific knowledge. They are blind and mislead the people, who
are also blind due to lack of scientific knowledge. The philosophers are good scholars of
logic but the ancient logic contains several wrong conclusions due to absence of
experimental verification. For example, the ancient Indian logic says that sound is the
characteristic property of space. But sound cannot travel in vacuum. It requires particles
to vibrate mechanically for the propagation. Thus mere theoretical logic called as dry
logic also goes wrong in several places.

Science is never wrong as far as the analysis of the creation is considered. In the case of
God it is incapable to touch God. Incapability is not wrong. Science accepts its
incapability by not speaking about God like Buddha. In fact this is the correct way of
explanation about the unimaginable God. Shankara says that silence is the best
explanation for the unimaginable God called as Para Brahman (Maunavyakhya Prakatita
Parabrahma Tattvam). At least science does not pose to give wrong conclusions in the
case where it fails because it understands its limits. The Advaita philosopher is just
opposite to science. He is also incapable of understanding the unimaginable God like
science. But he does not accept his incapability and poses that he has understood God and
presents every living being as God. Silence is far better than the misled and misleading
Advaita Philosopher. Buddha is far better than the present Advaita philosopher.

Buddha kept silent about God and such silence is the correct interpretation in the case of
unimaginable God. Veda says that every word fails in the case of God which means that
one has to keep silent about the explanation of God. In Veda it is mentioned that a son of
a sage came to his home after studying the spiritual knowledge. When his father asked
about God, the son kept silent and the sage certified that his son has completed the
spiritual knowledge. God is unimaginable only to those people who like to approach God
directly. But the devotees experience God through a specified human form. The devotees
may not know the real nature of God but they have experienced God. The Advaita scholar
opposes this concept and tries to experience God within himself or within every human
being. He does not experience God because he poses that he knows the real nature of God
as awareness.

The devotees accept the unimaginable nature but experience God. A blind man enjoys the
taste of a sweet kept on his tongue even though he does not see it or realize its
appearance. This is the case of a devotee who believes the human form of God. A person
is not blind but he is eating some mud claiming it as the sweet. He has seen the mud and
can explain the nature of it. But what is the use? His conclusion is wrong and therefore he
lost the experience of sweet. Egoism is responsible for such loss. A devotee who does not
believe the human incarnation but believes in other forms like statues, which are not God
is also a blind person who eats mud thinking it as a sweet. A person who has not tasted
sweets pleads or believes that the mud is the only sweet. He is not prepared to taste the
real sweet. Therefore he is not capable of differentiating the mud from sweet. Therefore
mere devotion is not sufficient. The devotion must be associated with knowledge or
logical analysis to reject the items of the creation as non-God entities.

Exposing the blunders of Advaita philosophers Part-5

The case of the atheist is worst because he does not accept the sweet even in theory. He
eats mud accepting it as mud. For him there is no sweet. Only mud is the ultimate reality.
The Advaita scholar and the blind devotee eating mud as sweet are better than the atheist
because they have at least accepted the concept of sweet in theory. They are eating the
mud as a representative of the sweet. But the Advaita philosopher does not accept that the
mud represents the sweet. He says that the mud is the sweet. The atheist says that the mud
is the mud and there is no sweet. Now what is the difference between the Advaita
philosopher and the atheist? The Advaita philosopher calls the mud as sweet. The atheist
calls the mud as mud. Except this theoretical difference, both are practically eating mud
only. At least the blind devotee who is eating the mud as representative of the sweet is
better than these two because he recognizes the sweet separately from the mud.

Since he is unable to get the sweet, he is eating the mud assuming it as sweet. Therefore
in the representative worship (Pratika –Upasanam) the knowledge of the separate
existence of the represented item and the representing item exists. Veda says that the inert
sun in the sky can be worshipped as God (Adityam Brahma Iti Upasita). Veda says that
you can worship the sun assuming the sun as God. This does not mean that sun is really
the God. The same point is further clarified by Veda (Nedam tat yadida mupasate). The
second statement clearly means that sun is not God because sun is worshipped as the
representative of God. Such representative worship is the beginning stage of the correct
path. Therefore if you worship a photo or a statue representing God, It shows only the
beginning stage of the right path and it is not the wrong path at all. But if you believe the
statue as the God directly, you have fallen even from the beginning of the right path and
you have entered the wrong path. A photo or statue of Rama can represent the actual
Rama but cannot be Rama directly. The photo or statue is good because it inspires you
and develops your devotion.

But remember, that your inspiration or developed devotion is only theoretical and there is
no trace of practical devotion in it. It is only the beginning stage of devotion. A better
stage will be to practically worship any human being representing Rama. The photo has
developed your theoretical devotion but if you worship the photo practically, it is
foolishness. If you apply scent to the photo, it is waste, because the photo can not enjoy
the applied scent. Instead of that, you select a devotee of Rama as the representative of
Rama and apply scent to him. Even though he is not Rama, he is enjoying the scent.

Thus your practical devotion is at least fruitful and meaningful. Instead of rubbing the
sweet on the mouth of the statue of Rama, give the sweet to a devotee of Rama and be
satisfied that Rama has enjoyed the sweet through that devotee. In fact, God lives in the
heart of the devotee and really receives your practical worship. Even if the human being
is not a real devotee, at least the human being can be assumed as a representative of
Rama. Thus service to human beings can be assumed as service to God. The humanity
can be assumed as a representative item for God. But serving the devotees is far better
than the social service. At least while serving the humanity, you should do the service in
the name of God so that the society of human beings can be treated as a representative of
God. Try to develop the devotion in the human beings while serving them. However, such
a service cannot touch God directly or indirectly. It only develops the devotion in you.
Therefore Sankara condemned the school of social service without relating it to God
(Loka sevaka mata khandanam).

Sankara did not oppose the social service in the name of God. This school considers the
society as God directly and pleads that service to society is the direct service to God. This
point was refuted by Sankara. Therefore mere social service done by atheists is of no use.
Such social service gives only heaven from which one has to return to Earth after
enjoying the fruit of the service for a short time (Kshine punye –Gita). Thus serving any
human being in the name of God or keeping him as a representative of God is better than
serving the humanity without any mention of God. The direct worship to God is possible
only if you can catch the present human incarnation. The God who lived in the body of
Rama is present in the human body of the present human incarnation. Only blessed and
liberated souls can get such rare divine fortune.

The human incarnation is the best and real address of God. The next best address is a
devotee. When you eat the sweet, you are directly happy. When you hear that your son
was given that sweet, then also you will feel happy because you have eaten the sweet
indirectly through your son. In these two cases only, God is fully pleased. Since it is very
rare to recognize and approach the human incarnation, the best convenient way for all is
to worship the devotee. Devotees are available in plenty. Among the devotees, select the
best one by doing analysis. Leaving the atheist, who prepares the sweet and eats himself
saying that there is no God, all the other devotees are good, but their levels are different.
If you are a beginner, you are not criticized. An LKG student should not be condemned.
Only a boy who does not come to the school at all (Atheist) is condemned. But you will
be also criticized if you sit in LKG class throughout your life. You should not be beginner
only till your death. You know life is very rare.

Christianity and Islam say that there is no re-human birth. Even Hinduism says that
human birth is very rare, which means almost impossible. In such a case, should you sit
in the LKG class only throughout your life? You can worship the statues and improve
your inspiration, which is the theoretical devotion only. The devotion should become
practical. There is no fruit for the theoretical devotion. It becomes fruitful only when it is
expressed as practical devotion, which is service or worship. You have to leave the statue
when you start the practical devotion. If a devotee is not available, serve any human
being and try to convert him as a devotee so that your worship can be continued with that
person. If a human being, who has become a devotee already, is available, your effort
becomes easy. When you are worshipping the devotees, in course of time, God in human
form will approach you. You are almost an atheist if you try to use God for solving your
personal problems.

All your love is only on the solution of your problem and not on the instrumental God.
When your son gets fever, you are taking him to doctor. You are showing all the respect
to the doctor. Your respect is not real because the reason for that is only your love to your
son. You are serving your son without aspiring anything in return. Such love to God is the
goal which you have to achieve. Arjuna is using Lord Krishna as his driver in the war
meant for solving his personal problem. This state is the ground state on which almost all
the human beings stand. Arjuna sitting on the ground at the feet of the Lord represents
this state. Hanuman is on the flag which is on the top of the chariot, representing the goal.
Hanuman served the Lord for the personal problem of Lord, which is not even related to
the upliftment of humanity. Rama told Ravana on the first day of the war that if Ravana
returns back Sita, He will go back. This means Rama is interested in getting back Sita
only and not to kill Ravana for protecting the World. Service to society is not greater than
the personal service to God because God is far above the society. Hanuman did not aspire
for anything in return. When a garland of pearls was given to him, he rejected it. The
whole Gita aims in the transformation of yourself who is present on the ground like
Arjuna to the state of Hanuman who is flying on the flag. Your present state is
represented by Mahabharata. Your goal is represented by Ramayana. Bhagavatam is an
unimaginable state of devotion, which cannot be achieved by effort. Radha and Gopikas
became mad about Krishna. Madness cannot be achieved by any effort. Especially
madness of God is impossible. Only one in millions and that too in some birth out of
millions of births, becomes mad about God. Madness is the ninth state and the final tenth
state is only death (Unmado maranam tatah).

Only God is beautiful and anything related to God is beautiful. Thus among the human
beings, the most beautiful is His devotee. Devotion is the beauty since it is related to
God. Valmiki said that Hanuman is most beautiful. He named the part of Ramayana
relating to Hanuman as Sundarakanda. Hanuman is a monkey. Normally a monkey stands
for the climax of ugliness. We mock a person with ugly face calling him as a monkey.
Therefore the beauty is not related to the external gross body. The beauty is also not
related to the internal subtle body which is made of qualities. The king Bali was famous
for his generosity, which is a good quality. He never broke his word given and this is also
a very good quality. But Bali was pushed down to the lowermost world by the Lord.
Therefore the good qualities like truth; generosity etc. also have no value when they are
not associated with devotion. Anything which is not related to God is ugly. Anything
which is related to God is only beautiful. Thus mere social service which exposes the
good qualities is of no use without God. It is said in Gita that even a person with bad
qualities is great and good if he is a devotee (Apichetsa duracharah). The hunter of
animals, supposed to be the highest sinner, was blessed by Lord Shiva for his devotion
and he reached the eternal abode of Lord Shiva.

Dharmaraja was the embodiment of all good qualities. The Lord asked him to tell a lie in
the war. But he refused to tell the lie. He gave importance to the good qualities than the
Lord. At the end Dharmaraja went to heaven only. He enjoyed the fruits of his good deeds
for sometime. He did not go to the abode of God. Mahabharata says that he went up to
heaven only (Swargarohana parvam). The angel cupid (Manmatha) was having very
handsome external gross body but he went against God and all his gross body was turned
to formless ash. Hanuman, having ugly face is praised as the most beautiful person in the
creation by the sage Valmiki because He was dedicating all His life to the service of God.
His God was a human being who did not exhibit any miracle. The required service for
Rama was purely personal family work. Hanuman is having several supernatural powers.
In these circumstances, even recognizing Rama as God is impossible. But Hanuman
recognized with infinite faith and served practically. Therefore Hanuman is the most
beautiful person. Lord Shiva is a very powerful energetic form with the third eye. Still the
cupid could not recognize Lord Shiva and tried to disturb Him with egoism. The result is
that the cupid is not having even a basic form. This concept of beauty should be
understood by the present youth. A boy loves a girl or vice-versa based on the form of the
external gross body. That love is disappearing when the girl or boy becomes old or
deformed by some disease or accident in the life. Some youngsters are giving importance
to the good qualities under the name of internal beauty.

The qualities are certainly more valuable than the form of gross body because the quality
is more subtle than the form of gross body. The gross body is made of matter whereas
quality is made of awareness. Awareness is more subtle than matter. But the good
qualities are not having any relation to God. Of course the good qualities should be
appreciated than the bad qualities in the context of keeping the balance of society. But by
good qualities and good deeds, one can only get the temporary heaven and not the
permanent place of God. The gross body and qualities are in the same phase of creation
without any reference to God. Suppose in a dream you are presented with a gross object
and somebody is presented with a subtle and more valuable object. Since both are unreal,
there is no greatness in the subtle body. Similarly, when the forms of matter and qualities
are not having any reference to God, there is no basic reality in them. Only God is the
ultimate basic reality. That which is not based on God is unreal and it is meaningless to
make any difference between two unreal items. If these are based on God, they become
real. The quality of devotion can be more valid than the external appearance of a devotee.
Here, both the quality and form are real since they are related to God. Therefore the most
beautiful and valuable item is the quality of devotion.

You must search for a devotee in selecting your life partner because the sole aim of the
human life is only to please the God. The life partner is expected to co-operate with you
in your spiritual effort. The selection of life partner should be based on the devotion,
which can alone help you in achieving the grace of the Lord in this human life which is
the main goal.

22. The reality of Atma Yoga

The Advaitin preaches Atma Yoga to get rid of both happiness and misery. It is no profit
and no loss business, which no fool does. Such Atma Yoga denies the existence of God
other than self and this greatest sin generates the continuous punishment to be enjoyed by
the soul. When the punishment is to be implemented, you cannot escape it by limiting
yourself to a state of non-involvement. The powerful divine Maya will catch you and
drag you out for giving the punishment. If the thief hides in underground without any
involvement in the world, the police will search for him, catch him and impart the
punishment on him. The final result of Atma Yoga is to become an inert stone but one
cannot become even that stone if there is balance of sin and the sin is endless in this case.

Hence, there is no chance of becoming even a stone through Atma Yoga. However, if you
are so fond becoming a stone, you have to worship the Lord who is the controller of
yourself. Then, no sin is generated.

When the previous balance of sin is exhausted by punishments, you can become the stone
by the grace of God. Such state represents the deep sleep where the soul has no
awareness and remains as a lump of inert energy only with eternal peace. If such state is
the highest, God also should have remained in that state without this creation. Perhaps,
you are wiser than God for having such a better state, which is not realized even by God.

In your opinion God has foolishly created this world to have full enjoyment through full
entertainment based on full involvement in the world. When you have become a liberated
soul though selfless service to God in human form, you will attain the same state of God
of full entertainment in the world based on the full involvement.

In such state you will enjoy both happiness and misery like sweet and hot dishes in a
meal or like comedy and tragedy in cinema or like winter and summer seasons in the
world. You may think that you have known this clue and start enjoying the world like
God, forgetting the God once again. You may think that God is no more necessary since
the clue of enjoyment is known.

Now you will become the Bhasmasura who tried to burn Lord Shiva after getting such
power from Lord Shiva Himself. Such ungratefulness to God again generates the sin and
to undergo the punishment of that sin Maya will drag you to the lower level of normal
human beings. As long as you are in the selfless service of God, you will be always with
God in human form in this world to derive bliss from the entertainment continuously. If
you become far from God by egoism and jealousy by crossing the mark of circle of His
closest devotees, the thousands of hands of Maya will bite you like black poisonous
serpents.

To become a liberated soul, one need not exhaust the results of all his deeds to be enjoyed
by him. There is no need of transfer of sin to God in this case. Such transfer of sin only
protects the closest devotee before liberation. In the case of the liberated soul, the existing
balance of sin can be enjoyed by himself through the divine clue. If the devotee gets this
clue from God and maintains His grace through the selfless service, one can be liberated
in any moment in this very human life.

You need not doubt about the balance of the results of his previous deeds. The doubt has
no validity because the moment you become a liberated soul, you are going to enjoy the
balance of the results of your deeds also as a part of the world to be enjoyed like that in
the future. Any way he is going to enjoy both sweet and hot dishes in a hotel outside his
house. He can enjoy the sweet and hot dishes left over in his house also in a similar way.
Therefore, the Jeevan Mukti (liberation while alive in this human life) is possible for any
one at any time. It is just like seeing a part of the cinema in your T.V. (the magnitude of
the screen is same) in your house and see the next part of cinema in a theatre outside your
house immediately. The story of the cinema is a continuous stream only.

23. Lord comes in Human form to preach and uplift the human souls

The Lord is giving experience to us in every walk of life about His existence. But, such
experiences become weak in course of time due to the petty minds of the human beings.
The human mind always takes logic and interprets such experiences as mere accidental
situations. Therefore the faith of the theists is not strong. The human preachers are unable
to answer the doubts of these human beings and this further weakens the faith. Therefore,
the Lord comes down in the form of a human being as the divine preacher.

Thus, there is a bare neccesity for such incarnation. Veda says ‘Yat Saakshat Aparokshat
Brahma’, which means that Brahman comes down before the eyes of the human beings.
Gita also says ‘Maanusheem Tanumaasritam’ which means that Brahman comes down as
a human being. But the human body follows the rules of the nature and is not different
from any other human body. The shirt of a king is not different from any other shirt. It
can be cut with the help of a blade like any other shirt. The speciality is in the king but
not in the shirt. If the Lord wishes, He could take the human body, which has neither birth
nor death. It can be a divine body, which appears before all the human beings at different
places and preaches, in different languages in the same time. But, such creation of divine
body means that the Lord is going beyond the rules of the nature, which are created by
the Lord only. The Lord has such divine power, which can go beyond this nature.

Such divine power is called ‘Maya’ and the Lord who is the possessor of such Maya is
called ‘Mayee’ as said in Gita “Mayinam tu Maheswaram”. But no sensible administrator
will break his own rules when a work is possible within the set up of the administration.
There is no need of doing that work by breaking the adminstration. The Lord can achieve
the same result by taking several human bodies at a time and from generation to
generation. In such way, the administration is not interferred. Therefore, the Lord comes
in several human incarnations at a time in each generation and the Viswarupa represents
this. In Gita, the prayer on the Viswarupa mentions about several feet, faces and also
several stomachs (Aneka Baahoodara Vaktra Netram). Therefore, the present picture of
Viswarupa is wrong.

It means only the photo of a group of preachers existing at the same time. The word
“Udara” (stomach) is not justified in the present picture of ‘Viswarupam’, which is again
another mis-perception leading to misinterpretation.

Therefore, it is very very clear that Datta means only the human incarnation that came
down to preach the true divine knowledge. But, due to natural egoism and jealousy the
human beings do not recognize the Lord in the form of a human being. Only very few
believed Krishna as Lord. Only very few believed Shirdi Sai Baba as God. When Sai was
alive there were few devotees only and no body thought of a temple for Him. Even Butee
wanted to build a temple for Krishna only who was a past incarnation. Now there are
millions of devotees and lakhs of temples for Sai baba because He is no more a present
incarnation. He who wins over the three types of egoism caused by the three qualities
(Trigunas) is called as ‘Atri’. He who conquerred jealousy (Asuya) is ‘Anasuya’. Such a
devotee only can capture the human incarnation. This is the sense of the statement that
Atri and Anasuya attained Datta.

24. Destroying the Sense of "I" is the Climax of Foolishness

Advaita philosophers, want to become like as stone. Our soul is like stand still water, and
all the qualities we have is like waves upon this water. This waves is called mind. Advaita
philosopher destroy this wave and stay in pure water, which is the soul and they get
peace. But it is only a half journey to God. Soul is not God, it only a created item, and it
is the awareness propagating on the nevervous system, and requires medium for its
propagation (brain, nervous system..). Soul is formed out of food. When some body go to
deep sleep the awarness get converted into its orginal inert energy. This state is like
devoid of the waves. By meditation awarness will be active but waves are suppressed. All
these activities are not God realisation. Adavita people want to become like a stone in
which they neither enjoy happiness or misery. Both are avoided and they are only like
stone and neutral. Lord created all the souls for His entertainment. And He is entertained
the maximum when His people serve Him without any expectation for fruit.

Advatita philosopher dettached from the world but they are simply sitting and not serving
Lord. After self realisation one should serve Lord in His mission without any expectation.
But Advaita philosophers falsely tell that they are God, and by attaining peace they claim
that they have attained the state of God!

The state of God is attained when one ENJOYS both misery and happiness equaly. It is
the state of God. Mere peace is not the sign of state of God.

The Advaita Philosopher claims complete destruction of the individual soul as the
complete salvation and this is the climax of foolishness! Burning the house containing the
rats is the final solution of Advaita Philosopher!

The
advanced state of God is association of God with His own creation containing both
happiness and misery like sweet and hot in the meals. If the meals contain only sweet,
one gets bored. The hot dish is created to remove such boring and therefore you should
like the hot dish also. You do not like the hot dish (Misery) and you are bored with
continuous sweet dish (Happiness). The solution of Advaita Philosopher in this case is to
fast by avoiding the meals completely! The real solution is to enjoy both happiness and
misery like God. God created both happiness and misery to have real and continuous
entertainment. If you are trying to avoid the misery, you are criticizing God for His
activity of this creation, which contains both happiness and misery.

25. Self Realization and The Real Goal

Everybody aspires the highest fruit through the easiest way. The easiest way is the path of
knowledge, which does not require any sacrifice. The highest fruit is to become the very
Lord right now from this moment onwards. They like the preacher to say that they should
just come out of their house to receive a heap of infinite treasure lying down before the
doors. Anybody will be happiest to receive the news that, he has become eligible to join
the post of district collector in whatever stage of his study to the I.A.S. Examination he is
present. The post is offered to the fresh student who just joined the I.A.S. Course and also
to the student who passed the I.A.S. Examination. Both are equally eligible now itself to
join the same post. If the preacher says that already both have joined the post and that
they have forgotten this truth, now all the effort is only to recognize that they are the
district collectors. This gives the idea that there is no need of any future effort. This is the
mis-interpreted philosophy of monoism (Advaita) of Sankara.

Everybody is very much attracted to this path. The influence of this path is so much that
nobody is coming out of this illusion. It is so sweet that they are unable to leave this state.
The basic misconcept is to think that the self is the superself. Self is any living being in
this world. Super self is the Lord. They just find one common point i.e., the pure
awareness (Chit) exists in both. The Prime Minister and his peon have several common
points like pure awareness, similar form of external human body etc. Both eat and sleep
similarly. Both are married and both have children. Because of these common points can
you treat the Prime Minister and His peon as one and the same? Based on one common
point i.e., pure awareness, how can you say that self is superself? Veda says that by the
order of the Lord, the Sun is shining. In summer due to sunstroke a human being is killed.
Let the Advaita scholar stand against the sunstroke and order the Sun not to kill him.

When the disciples of Sankara thought that they are also the Lord, Sankara swallowed the
molten lead and asked the disciples to do the same. Then they fell on the feet of Sankara.
Then Sankara told "Shivah Kevaloham", which means that only He is Shiva. The word
Kevala (only) is important here. Sankara while taking bath in the ocean at Puri told "Oh!
Lord! Though the qualitative identity is in between us, the quantitative difference exists.
The water is common in both the sea and the wave like the pure awareness in the soul and
super soul. But the quantitative difference exists and one should not forget that the entire
wave is in the sea but the entire sea is not in the wave". This is stated as a message for the
sake of ordinary soul. These Advaita Scholars filter all the differentiating points and
finally get the common point filtered down into the beaker as the filtrate. The
differentiating points are the residue on the filter paper and the filtered common point is
in the downward beaker. They see only the beaker but not the filter paper. Therefore, the
whole spiritual path is twisted and confused almost all the human beings.

Seeing this situation the same Sankara came as Ramanuja and Madhva and clearly
differentiated the superself from the self. Some devotees have come out of this illusion
but several people are still lingering there only due to their unreasonable and
unimaginable ambition for the fruit. Unless this basic concept is realized, all the stages of
the spiritual effort cannot be healthy. The poison injected in the foundation has spread all
over the upstairs of the construction. Your question has already assumed that self is super
self. You have no doubt about that basic concept. Nobody likes to touch that basic
concept. If that basic concept is analysed the entire castle of their ambition will collapse.
They cannot tolerate to loose the highest fruit, which was captured by them by the easiest
way of self-realization. Now for such self-realization, you are asking whether the
meditation or the study of scriptures is the path. When the goal itself is absent what is the
use of the path? It is something like asking whether one should pass eighth standard or
ninth standard to become the district collector. Neither of these two standards can give
you the post. By passing those two standards one can get the post of a peon. One has to
pass the I.A.S. Examination for which he is eligible after passing degree examination,
which is far from both those standards. These advaita scholars argue that the peon is the
collector. They do not accept the existence of any higher post other than the peon.

The reason for this basic misunderstanding is the word "Brahman". As per Sanskrit
grammar this word comes from the root "Bruhi-Vruddhau", which means that the root
meaning of this word is greatness. Anything that is great can be called as Brahman. The
soul is the most precious and greatest item of the creation and is called as Para Prakruti,
which means the greatest of all the created items. The soul is included as a part of the
creation (Prakruti) and is called as Para Prakruti as said in Gita (Prakritim Viddhi me
paraam….). It is not Creator. If it is Creator it cannot be called as Prakruti. It is only the
modification of food during evolution as said in Veda (Annat Purushah…). The same
inert energy called as electro magnetic radiation working through a special unknown
technology is life. The materials of the technology are known and the working inert
energy is also known. But the special technology in which it works is not known and
therefore, life energy is not synthesized so far. Only God knows that technology.

When sage Gautama cursed Ahalya, she became a stone. Now where is the soul and its
subtle body of Ahalya? Is it not in the stone? If it is not in the stone there is no suffering
to the soul through its subtle body. When the foot of Rama touched it, it is converted into
the woman called Ahalya. This clearly shows the inter conversion of life energy into inert
energy and vice-versa. When Brahma stole the cows and cowboys for one year, Lord
Krishna created the same cows and cowboys again. If the soul is eternal it cannot be
created again. This again proves that the soul is only a part of the creation and not the
eternal Creator. The soul is said to be eternal with reference to this temporary body. Thus
it is only relatively more permanent as said in Gita (Na Hanyate Hanyamane Sareere).

If one does not understand the theory of relativity the verses in the second chapter in Gita
cannot be realized. The soul is greater than the great body but the super soul is greater
than the greater soul. Therefore, the soul is not greatest. But as far as the items of Prakruti
or Creation are concerned soul is the greatest and this does not mean that the soul is the
super soul. The super soul is beyond the creation and is not an item of the creation.
Therefore, the super soul does not come into the boundaries of Creation or Prakruti. In
this sense the greatest soul within the boundaries of creation is called as Brahman. The
Scripture Veda is also called as Brahman because it is greatest among all the scriptures.
This is stated in Gita (Brahmaakshara Samudbhavam).

Therefore, any greatest item in a specific category can be called as Brahman. There is
another path of psychological treatment of the teacher. It is to encourage the student by
attaching the highest goal to every step he climbs. To make the student climb one more
step, the teacher says that if he climbs one more step the final roof is achieved. In this
way the encouragement is given to the devotee by saying that the super self is achieved if
the self is achieved. In fact the achievement of self is necessary to achieve the super self.

If one attains his own self, he attains perfect peace. If he identifies himself to be the soul,
which is the pure awareness, he is detached from the gross body and the inner subtle
body. By such detachment all the worldly bonds disappear and all the mental worries
vanish. By this one attains the peace. Peace is a pre-requisite for attaining the super self.
Thus attainment of self is very important, which is the middle station of the journey.

When you are mental worried and dragged by these worldly bonds, how can you
concentrate and develop the single bond on God? Therefore, self-realization is the basis
for reaching the super self. But one should not stop at the self-realization because
attainment of self is not attainment of super self. One is traveling from Vijayawada to
Mumbai. The middle station is Hyderabad. One should reach Hyderabad before reaching
Mumbai. But one should not get down at Hyderabad thinking that it is Mumbai.

Therefore, to attain the self and thereby to attain the peace as a pre-requisite qualification
for attaining the super self, both the study of scriptures as well as meditation are
important. To know the truth the scripture must be studied. But only the Sadguru must
explain the scripture. 'Veda, the scripture has to be studied from a Guru only and should
not be read directly from book'. Even this statement is mis-understood.

People misinterpret that the recitation of Veda should be done only with the help of the
Guru or Preacher. For recitation no teacher is required. Any student can by-heart any
book by self-reading and no teacher is required for that. The correct interpretation of this
statement is that Veda should be explained through a Sadguru (True Preacher) only. The
teacher is required for the explanation and interpretation and not for the recitation. Thus,
the study of the scripture must be done only with the help of Sadguru and not the Guru
who is an ordinary human being only.

Then meditation means memorizing the concept that you are the self or soul or casual
body and detaching yourself from the gross and subtle bodies. Both are required to fix
you in the soul permanently. Pooja is the worship of a model only, which is related to the
preliminary low cadre devotees as said "Pratimaahyalpa Buddhinaam". Thus both the
study of Scripture with the help of Sadguru and meditation are important to attain the
middle station. Both these are also the indirect means to attain the super self because
unless the peace is attained by self-realization, one cannot travel further to attain and
please the super self or the Lord.

People are clinging to the fruit of the path of Sankara due to over ambition, which can be
obtained by spending a little time and energy in study of the scripture. It is just like the
recent computer scam given by the Abidjan city. They ask you to spend a little to release
the box and offer crores of rupees as the fruit of your little effort. Several innocent people
were trapped and even flew to Abidjan to collect the box. But there is no trace of the box.
Even Swami (Myself) played with one scam and made a long correspondence trying to
change their attitude. Atheists, who believe only the gross materialistic world, surrounded
Sankara. He tried to lead them from gross state to subtle state by introducing the subtle
soul. The journey from gross state to subtle state can be a pre-rehearsal for the journey
from imaginable creation to unimaginable God.

He stressed on the detachment from the body and attachment to the self. This gives a
training to detach from the imaginable world and to attach to the unimaginable God. In
fact the super self or God is unimaginable whereas the self or pure awareness is
imaginable. Therefore, even awareness cannot be the common point in super self and
self. How can you say the unimaginable God to possess the awareness? The awareness or
life energy is imaginable item of the creation. The Scholars have misunderstood that God
has awareness because God wished to create this universe. Since God wished God must
be awareness. This logic applies only to the items of creation and not to the Creator who
is beyond creation. The unimaginable God can wish even without being the awareness.
He is above the laws of Creation. Veda says 'Apanipaado Javano Graheeta…), which
means that He can run without legs and He can catch without hands. Since God runs you
say that God must have legs based on the natural laws. But the super natural God does
not require legs to run. Similarly He can wish to create the world without Himself being
the awareness.

If this is understood the super self is just beyond your imagination. The super self enters
into one of the items of the creation to give its experience to you. If the medium is human
form, it will be most convenient for the super self to preach you and receive your love
and service directly. The super-self present in the human form is Sadguru who will lead
you from the gross body and subtle body to the self and then finally to the super self,
which is none-else than Himself. Therefore, identifying and catching the feet of Sadguru
is most important than all these things mentioned by you.

The reason for Brahman to be stated, as awareness is that, Brahman enters only a living
being and not an inert object. Of course, the inert objects can be worshipped as models of
Brahman by the lower cadre. Such worship is called as Pooja. If you see the incarnations,
all of them were living beings only like fish, tortoise, pig etc. The living being can only
do certain action independently. For the sake of human beings Brahman enters the human
body because preaching and clarification of doubts is impossible if it is not a human
body. Even the energetic bodies of Brahman contain innermost soul and inner subtle
body. The energetic body is only the outer gross body. The subtle body is made of
qualities.

If it is Brahma it is of Rajas quality, if it is Vishnu it is of Sattvam quality, if it is Siva it is

of Tamas quality and if it is Datta it is of three qualities. When Brahman appeared as
Yaksha to angles, it was Datta who tested them and talked to them. The inert item is not
independent and is always controlled by life. Therefore, Brahman never enters any inert
body, which is not self-controller. If Brahman is identified with any inert object, Brahman
has to be controlled by another living being. This is impossible because Brahman is the
controller of all the inert and living beings. Therefore, Veda says that Brahman can never
exist in a statute or a photo (Na tasya Pratima ….). But the inert object can be kept as a
representative of model of Brahman and can be worshipped. But such worship is very
much limited to cleaning and decorating the statute etc., only and should not be extended
to offering food, Dakshina (Money) etc. The priests and the managers of temples are
taking that food and Dakshina keeping the statue in front of you. The priests and
managers are not of the level of the Sadguru. Either they are enjoying or spending the
money improperly. Therefore, the worship of statue is not liked by realized souls. But it
should be respected because there is no other alternative except this for the beginners.
Therefore, whenever a soul or self (Atman) is referred, Atman means a human being. In
Sanskrit Atman means the human body. In fact even the soul is called as casual body,
which is the inner, most component of the human body. The human body consists of the
outer most gross body, the inner subtle body and the inner most casual body or soul.
Therefore, whenever the word Atman comes in the sense of the Lord, it means the human
body (Human being), which is charged and pervaded all over by the Lord. Only such self
is the super self or Brahman or the Lord. This should not be extrapolated to every self or
every human being. Every human being is only the human body, which is composite of
the three bodies. Veda says that the Lord is controller of all the selves (Atmeswaram….).
If every self is Lord Himself, how can He be controller of the self? It means He controls
Himself. Therefore, the self-realization and attainment of self in the first of half of the
spiritual journey means realizing and attaining your own self and finally fixing you in the
self. But the word self in the second half of the journey means the human incarnation or
Sadguru and here the self-realization means the recognition of Sadguru and the self-
attainment here means catching hold of the feet of Sadguru. You should not sit at the end
of first half of the journey thinking that yourself is Sadguru. Therefore, it is better to
catch the Sadguru in the beginning itself so that you are well aware of the whole of
journey in the beginning itself. Of course, you can go to the middle station by your self
with the help of scripture and meditation. But there is a danger of your stagnation in the
middle station thinking that, that is the final station. Once you are caught up by this
Abidjan scam in the middle station, you will never go further, because the scam is so
sweet. The Advaita scholars are caught up by this scam even the beginning of the journey
itself. Therefore, nobody can save them.

26. Salvation
The Lord appears as a human incarnation in order to make Himself available to our
direct perception. Thus He satisfies the Vedic statement 'yat sak?at aparok?at brahma,
which means that the Lord is available to direct perception right here. The bhagavad gita
also says the same thing; "manu?i? tanumasritam. When the Lord takes human form, it is
important to recognize Him as the Lord. Prophet Mohammed gave thirty three signs to
identify the human incarnation of the Lord. Thus actually Islam also accepts the human
incarnation of God although the prevalent form of the religion is averse to this concept.
When these signs are followed the human incarnation can be identified and the
statements of the scriptures which assert the direct perception or pratyak?a prama?a are
satisfied. People cannot accept God right in front of them owing to their ego and jealousy.

They try to place God in some other world and some later time (after death). These are
people with a lower maturity. The mature people who have conquered their ego and
jealousy accept God in human form in this world. The ?gveda says ihacetavedit atha
satyamasti na cetmahati vina??i, which means, "That which is here is true. That which is
not here is not true". The acceptance of the Lord right here, available to direct perception
is desirable as it satisfies a scientist or a rationalist too. Science is based on direct
perception as the means to establish the validity or existence of a statement or an entity.
From the above discussion, God in human form is not an obscure, unverifiable entity. He
is available here and now for direct perception. 'yat sak?at aparok?at brahma means that
God is here itself. He is not to be known through some other medium of questionable
validity but by direct perception. The statement that God is here, does not mean that
every individual soul is God. The individual soul is certainly different from God.
However God has taken up a particular human body and lives among us.

Salvation is freedom from all worldly bonds. It is also here. It is not in some other world.
In this world we have a lot of attachments. These bonds with other souls and material
things impede our salvation. All such bonds are temporary and changing. Today we are
attached to some person and tomorrow to someone else. Salvation consists in breaking all
such temporary bonds. This is achieved by developing and nurturing the single permanent
bond with God. In no relation, or no action performed for any other soul here, is there
permanence. By attaching to God alone can one free oneself from all the temporary
bonds of the world.

The soul is made of the life energy or the superior energy called para prakruti. The para
prakruti is a drop in the ocean of the totality of the superior energy called the para sakti or
maya. The para sakti is the Power of the Lord. It gives rise to Creation. The individual
soul has attachments to other souls which are also para prakruti. Additionally it also has
attachments with material things which are a grossified (inert) form of the para prakruti
called as apara prakruti. The apara prakruti includes all inert objects such as wealth, land,
house, cars and so on. Now the individual soul is in this world. It has bonds to other souls
and to inert objects, which are both in this world. The breaking of these bonds is also in
this world. Therefore salvation is in this world. It is here and now. It is not after death, in
some other unknown world.

27. Statements of Exclusivity in Scriptures

In the scriptures of every religion, the corresponding human incarnations gave statements
proclaiming their own uniqueness and the uniqueness of their preaching or path. Some
examples of such words of Lord Jesus in the Bible are: "I am the light"; "I am the path";
"I and My father are one and the same"; "One can reach My father only through Me".
Every fanatic religious follower follows the human incarnation, who preached his
religion. The fanatic quotes such statements of uniqueness and exclusivity preached by
that human incarnation in the scriptures of his religion. Suppose there is a neutral person.
Which religion should he join? It is as if every shopkeeper is shouting that his shop alone
is the best. Each shopkeeper is bent upon proving his point to the single customer in order
to invite him into his own shop.

The above concept of one God as the creator of this one world clearly demands a unity in
all the human incarnations and religious scriptures of the world. Statements of uniqueness
in different scriptures, if interpreted properly can achieve this unity. For example, in the
above statements of Lord Jesus, the word 'I' means the human incarnation in general. It is
called Emmanuel in the Bible, which means that God comes to live with human beings.
The Bhagavad Gita also says that God enters the human body. God pervades all over the
human body of the incarnation like electric current pervading all over a live wire. The
current and the wire become one and the same. This is the interpretation of oneness of the
Father and the Son. One can experience God only through a medium and that medium
must be the same as the person trying to experience God. Thus human beings can
experience God only through the human incarnation of God. This is the interpretation of
the statement that one can reach the Father only through the Son. The human incarnation
preaches the special knowledge clearly like a bright light revealing every minute detail.
Such interpretations reveal the real universal meaning of scriptures. Other literal or
conservative interpretations are bound to lead to misunderstandings.

When a mother says to her children "All of you must serve me", she does not mean that
all the children in the world should serve her. Obviously children in some other part of
the world cannot serve her. Her statement should be limited to her children only and you
should limit her as the mother of those children only. If you generalize her as any mother,
then her sentence means that every child should serve his or her own mother. Therefore
ignorance of conservatism is a limitation and generalization based on the true knowledge
makes it universal. A limited or literal interpretation may have a certain limited benefit or
utility. Generalization based on the universal knowledge gives the maximum benefit.
Generalization based on conservative or biased ideas, which are the result of ignorance
lead to fanaticism. This is a great loss.

28. Spirituality and Religion

Every Religion in this world wants you to get rid of bad qualities at least from today for the admission into
that religion which is practically impossible. The reason is that these bad qualities were grown like hills for
the past millions of births. This small human life is insufficient even to move them, not to speak of
removing them. People can control the bad qualities to some extent by their efforts. These bad qualities are
frequently sparking in the minds of even the most pious sages. If one says that he is good and he is devoid
of all the bad qualities, it only cheating others, which in turn is cheating oneself. Due to this practically
impossible condition, for the religious admission, people have developed allergy towards any religion
because the eligibility for admission is impractical.

The religious preachers have confused the whole situation by fusing religion and
spiritualism. Religion is the context of GOD to establish peace and justice in this world.
In this context, you must control your bad qualities so that you will not disturb the peace
and justice and will not harm any good person in this world. If you disturb the world by
your bad qualities, God will punish you. But, in this context, it is sufficient if you control
the bad qualities since you cannot remove them. The Religion ends here. Some religions
strictly end here without any spiritualism.

The spiritualism is the context in which you have to make efforts to reach God. In this
context, you need not even control your bad qualities because, God has no personal
objection towards your bad qualities. These bad qualities cannot be obstacles in any
manner in this context. Moreover, when you turn these bad qualities towards the God,
they become your helpers. Any quality whether good or bad, is created by God only to
help you in reaching Him. If you realize the original aim of all these qualities, good or
bad, why should you control these qualities, which are with you as a helper? No fool
controls his helpers. So, any quality when involved in spiritualism is used for its original
aim, it becomes a good quality. So all your qualities become good in spiritualism and you
need not put any effort to remove or even control them. When the qualities are not used
for their original purpose, they become bad qualities. Therefore, whatever qualities turned
towards the world, are bad qualities. In this spiritualism, there is no need of any effort
even to control these bad qualities.

Then, for what, our effort should be made? Our effort should be concentrated to achieve
“Bhakthi” which is the love on God. “Bhakthi” is achieved and is grown by the
knowledge of God. For example, you came to know that Bombay City exists. This is the
knowledge of existence of Bombay. By this you want to see Bombay. As you know the
details of Bombay more and more, your desire to see the city becomes more and more.
Knowing details about the Bombay City is again the further knowledge. So, knowledge is
directly proportional to desire. First Rukmini heard that there is Lord Krishna on this
earth. As she heard more and more about Lord Krishna from Sage Narada, her love on
Krishna increased enormously. Narada means he who gives knowledge. Therefore,
‘Jnana”(knowledge) generates and develops “Bhakthi (devotion)”. Due to Bhakthi, the
Lord is attained. Gita says the same ‘ONLY BY BHAKTHI I AM ATTAINED’
(‘Bhaktya………’).

In the spiritual path all your effort must be concentrated in acquiring the knowledge of
God day by day. Once this knowledge based Bhakthi (devotion) is achieved, your
qualities good or bad are immaterial. Whatever may be the vessel, the drink in it is
important. The value paid in a hotel is for the drink only. If you have taken a cup of
coffee, you are paying the cost of the coffee only whether the cup is made of glass or
metal. Similarly, God gives value only for your Bhakthi and not for your quality. I will
give a beautiful example here. “Sabari” is with good qualities and offered fruits to the
Lord Rama who is Vishnu. A hunter called “Kannappa” gave flesh to the Lord Siva.
Sabari reached the ‘World of Vishnu and Kannappa reached the World of Shiva”. Both
have reached the same Lord because Veda says, “Shiva is Narayana”. Both of them have
been given the similar value by the Lord because in both cases, the intensity of the
devotion is the same as both gave even their food without eating. Therefore, this proves
clearly that the Lord has no objection for your bad qualities. Hence, all the effort should
be only to achieve and increase the intensity of love devotion or Bhakthi on God. It is not
necessary to bother about your qualities that are inherent coming from millions of births.
They are the born qualities. The tail of the dog is curved. Any effort cannot make it
straight. By force, we can keep it straight but it has not become straight. Similarly you
can control your bad qualities for not disturbing peace of the world by some force. When
you come to God, you come in your natural state because you can deceive the world
showing that your banded tail is straight but not the God. Whether the river comes in
straight path or curved path, the ocean receives only the water with equality. Similarly,
God receives your love irrespective of your quality. He received “Sabari” and
‘Kannappa” equally. Sabari with good qualities and Kannappa with bad qualities reached
the same Lord, as their devotion is of same intensity.

A piece of gold is wrapped in an old cloth. A stone is wrapped with a metallic foil. Which
has more total value? Similarly, the love with high intensity covered even by a bad
quality has more total value than the love with lesser intensity covered by a good quality.
When the blood flew from the eye of the Lord, the Priest who is a person with good
qualities is trying to apply the medicine. But, his devotion is less. In the same situation,
“Kannappa” plucked his eyes and donated to the Lord. Kannappa is a person with bad
qualities but his devotion is the highest. Devotion is the highest good quality. Now let us
evaluate the total cost of the priest and Kannappa. The devotion in Kannappa is +100.
The bad qualities in Kannappa are –10. The total cost is +90. The priest with good
qualities is +10. The devotion in him is +20. The total cost is +30. So, of the two who is
good? Obviously it is Kannappa. Gita says, that, “Even the worst is best by Bhakthi” (Api
chet….).

Therefore, what is the eligibility for the admission into our religion of Guru Datta? The
eligibility is that you should be a living being. Even animals and birds are eligible to
reach God irrespective of their qualities. Even serpent, spider and the elephant got
salvation in Sri Kala Hasthi. The serpent has all bad qualities. God did not insist the
serpent to get rid of all the bad qualities. Even if God says, the serpent is unable to
understand put the efforts. When such a serpent is eligible, why not a man? All the people
are depressed and dejected with the eligibility conditions stipulated by various religions.
For example if an Institution stipulates the eligibility condition as that one should remove
his head and come, nobody can be admitted. Similarly the religions stipulate the removal
of all the bad qualities, which is impossible. Only a temporary control is possible which
is necessary for you to live in this world with peace. This control is possible. In our
religion also we are stipulating this condition, which is possible. So, in our Datta religion,
the eligibility condition is that if your bad qualities do not disturb the world, the Lord has
no personal objection to them and you need not even control them. Moreover, they will
help you in spiritualism.

How to turn the bad qualities towards God and make them helpers in reaching the God?
There are six bad qualities that are inherent in any living being since millions of births.
They are Lust (kama), Anger (krodha), Greediness (Lobha), ego (mada), Blind attraction
(Moha) and Jealousy (Matsarya). Anger, greediness, ego and jealousy come under Rajas
quality. Lust and blind attraction come under Tamas quality. I give you an example to
divert your bad qualities towards the Lord, which can be used as powerful vehicles.
Example:- Love in cinema songs can be diverted to the Lord by little change in words.
Then, the powerful tune that created sweet feelings in you is now a powerful vehicle to
make you to reach the Lord.

A film song ‘Churaliya Tumne ……’) instead of ‘Sanam’ replace the word with ‘Hare’.
All the sweetness of your mind is now on the Lord Krishna (Vishnu). See how a person,
mad after cinema songs become a powerful devotee in his own way without any change!
You can sing this as your prayer for which you need not put any effort by force. Your
worship should be natural and spontaneous, which alone can be true.

29. True Essence of Yoga

Yoga is the most prestigious field of spiritualism. People think about 6 wheels (Chakras)
or lotus flowers present in the spinal card, which are not seen by the eyes. They are
imaginary and so they carry some inner meaning. When you say a face as a moon, fools
search for moon in that face. But, wise people see similarity in the face and moon.
Similarly, wheels and lotus flowers should not be searched in the spinal cord. Spinal cord
is the main nerve, representing mind, which is the base of love.

All these wheels or lotus flowers are the bonds of love in the various relatives like
parents, wife or husband, children etc. They are compared to wheels or the revolving
whirlpools in the ocean, which attract a swimmer and drown him. Similarly, these love
wheels are compared to lotus flowers, since the lotus flowers attract the bee by sweet
fragrance and bind it. Similarly, these love flowers attract any one and bind them.
“Kundalini” is the mind, which is the energy traveling as waves like a serpent, should
cross all these love wheels connected to 7th lotus flower in the head called “Sahasrara”,
which is Buddhi or intelligence that takes the decision, which is the firm love on God.

Bhagavad Gita is called as the main scripture of Yoga (Yoga-Sastra). Why there is not
even single reference to these wheels or lotus flowers in anywhere in Gita or even in
Upanishads? Since they are not real, they are not even mentioned. The author of the Gita
was Krishna, who was called Master of Yoga (Yogeswara). Krishna also says that the real
yoga was lost since long [ago](Sa kaleneha mahata….). This means that in the beginning,
Sages in India knew the real yoga and loved God only crossing all their family bonds. In
due course of time only, this true yoga was lost. Why? The middle age Indians were
unable to cross their family bonds and so failed to succeed in Yoga.
They wanted to cover their inability by twisting the very concept of yoga. The family
bonds were removed from the concept and only wheels or lotus flowers are left fixed.
Now, they close the eyes and say that they have seen the lotus flowers or wheels, which
are only imaginary. Now they cross these wheels by their imaginary “Kundalini” and say
that they have succeeded in Yoga. These blind teachers are also not to be blamed, because
they were trained like that by their blind teachers. This misinterpretation was done long
time back and hence, even at the time of Krishna, He told that yoga was lost since a long
time.

We cannot catch those original culprits, who were the top most twisting masters and so
the present tradition also cannot be blamed. Only rectification is the way left over. Some
say that they see light, which is only an imagination. After all, the mind is a form of
energy and on its concentration imaginary light can be imagined. Instead of such a week
light, you better see a strong light with your open eyes. What is the use of these
imaginary lights and colors, without achieving the Lord through your love, which excels
the various worldly, loves.

I pity the foreigners, who are trapped in this false imaginary line of yoga, who are
wasting their precious lifetime and energy. In fact, they are the best to succeed in yoga, if
the reality of the yoga is exposed. Their family bonds are very weak and their love
towards God is real, which is proved by their huge sacrifice of money to God’s work.
Money is the fruit of work and its sacrifice for God’s work is “Karma phala tyaga” as
mentioned in Gita. Again, the middle age Indians twisted this word “Karma phala tyaga”
as sacrifice of the fruit of the work like praying God instead of sacrifice of money.

The reason was that these Indians were unable to sacrifice money to God due to their
strong love on their children. Foreigners ask their children to earn after certain age.
Indians store money even for ten generations and still continue to store only. Since
prayers, meditation and knowledge are very much diverted to God, India was blessed by
God with good language, good mind and good knowledge.

Since foreigners are good in sacrifice, God blessed them with good wealth. Even Indian
spiritual centers were strongly funded by foreigners only. Swami Vivekananda cried,
“Why my India suffers with poverty in spite of so much spiritual knowledge?” Sacrifice
of money (Karma phala tyaga) and sacrifice of work (karma Sanyasa) put together
constitute the God’s service, which is the real Yoga (real proof of love) called “Karma
yoga” in Gita. Foreigners are the best in this karma yoga and so they easily succeed in
yoga. Throughout Gita, this karma yoga was explained as yoga and wheels or lotus
flowers are not at all mentioned.

30. Science and God

Science has developed tremendously and faculty of logic improved a lot. People used to
reject the existence of an unimaginable item. They refused God, who is unimaginable.
But today in Science, Heisenberg proves the existence of uncertainty or unimaginability
owing to the limits of human capability. Today is the right time to introduce the
unimaginable concept of God. Buddha kept silent about God because, He did not like to
introduce God through some unreal concepts. But, this lead to the misunderstanding of
Buddha as an atheist. Shankara introduced God as almost unimaginable by representing
God as awareness. Awareness is almost unimaginable to an ordinary person. Mohammed
introduced God as power or energy. Awareness is energy only. Thus there is no
fundamental difference between these two incarnations. But a common man cannot
imagine God through that concept. God is represented by the energetic form as Narayana
by Ramanuja or divine Father in heaven by Jesus. The awareness or the energetic form is
charged by God and thus there is no lie even if it is considered as God just like the
electrified wire considered as current. But the entire awareness or energy or all the
energetic forms are not charged by God. All the wires are not electrified. Angels, who are
servants of God, are not God. Indra, an energetic form was not God as proved by Krishna
in Bhagavatam. The energetic form is imaginable but not perceivable. It appears only to
the mind. It appears to the eyes also, but very rare. Even, if it appears to eyes, the time of
appearance is very short and so it is not congenial for preaching the knowledge.
Therefore, the materialized form is necessary. The human body is the best suitable form
for such purpose. A statue or photo can be also perceivable and God can charge it also.
But such photo or statue cannot preach. It can preach also by the super power of God. But
it becomes quite unnatural. The unnatural means create tension and fear, which are not
good background or conducive for receiving the knowledge. Such form cannot mix with
humanity freely to preach the knowledge. Therefore, the concept of Krishna of human
incarnation (Manusheem… the Gita) was more stressed by Madhva through Rama and
Hanuman. Krishna, a human form declared that He is God based on the electrified wire.
The same concept of “God in flesh” was introduced by Jesus, who stated that He and His
Father are one and the same.

Suppose you have started a school with first standard and you are not admitting anyone
into the next second standard from outside. Then you are teaching only to the first
standard, though you are a postgraduate and can teach up to the 10th standard. To start
the second standard in that year, majority was not available. You will teach the same
students next year in second standard in another full section. Meanwhile if one or two
students worthy of second standard approach, you will guide them personally. Same was
the situation. Whenever the human incarnation came, it was dealing with the majority as
a section and the lesson pertaining to that standard was only taught. He taught a few
devotees of high standard personally but that was not carried on. Therefore, today you
think that the preaching of God in the human form on that day was only the first standard.
Today, majority is available due to the development of logical faculty and so the high
standard is opened as a section.

31. World Life Vs Spiritual Life

For a spiritual aspirant, what should be the motivation/enthusiasm to excel in one's career
and day-to-day interactions?

The materialistic field (Pravrutti) consists of the day-to-day interactions. The spiritual
field (Nivrutti) consists of the interaction with the Lord. Both these fields are quite
opposite like darkness and light. Veda says the same (Duramete Vipareete Vishuchi). This
means that Pravrutti and Nivrutti are like North and South poles. They are opposite in the
direction.

The goal of the Pravrutti is the happiness of this body and your family members, fame,
riches, etc. This goal is temporary and one has to struggle every time in an atmosphere
with lot of risk. The goal of Nivrutti is permanent and there is no struggle and risk. The
Pravrutti is like doing a job and getting salary every month. If you do not work the salary
is stopped.

Nivrutti is like getting interest on the fixed deposit and you work without any binding.
The Lord is one and the same for both the fields and acts as the controller for both. But
the nature of Lord differs in these two fields. In the field of Pravrutti the Lord is strict and
follows the rules of justice. In the field of Nivrutti the Lord is very kind and shows love
in solving your problems even without your knowledge.

Now you want to bring the advantage of Nivrutti into Pravrutti. You want to have the
result of Nivrutti while keeping yourself in Pravrutti. People in the materialistic field pray
God to solve their problems related to this world.

The Lord has invented a way for this line also. He will solve your problems based on
your prayers. But He will postpone your evil results to the next birth or to the hell (if the
rebirth is not believed) with increased interest. He will draw the good results from the
future birth with decreased interest like a pre-matured deposit and hand over to you as
happiness. You think that your evil result is cancelled and the good result is given to you
without doing the good deed. If it is done in that way the justice is insulted.

Only a rearrangement of the deeds in the wheel (Karma Chakra) is done. By this your
future births become full of difficulties and you will scold God in those births. However,
if you are not bothered about the future and is particular of the present only such
rearrangements are done by the Lord. In the case of some people the prayers are not
answered because there is no possibility of even such rearrangement. All the good deeds
got exhausted and therefore God keeps silent. You are unnecessarily attached to the
enthusiasm in the materialistic field, which consists of bonds with your body and your
family members.

These bonds are neither before this birth nor will exist after this birth. They are temporary
and therefore, unreal. All your anxiety and enthusiasm is for unreal bonds. This truth will
be known if you do the analysis through Vedanta, which is called as ‘Sadasat Viveka’ by
Sankara, which means the discrimination of reality from the false-hood. Thus the
materialistic field has strict and limited boundaries and you cannot cross the justice.

There is no element of love and kindness in its real sense. If you however get full
detachment from this unreality and attach yourself to the reality (God), you have entered
the field of Nivrutti. In this field you will have the only real bond with the real God. In
such case the Lord crosses the boundaries of justice and attains the nature of complete
love and kindness. In this line you are not aspiring for any happiness and your happiness
lies only in the happiness of the Lord. You are prepared to undergo any misery if that
pleases the Lord. You will realize that the sole aim in your manufacture itself is the
entertainment of the Lord. In that state the Lord also becomes your true reflection. He
will behave in such a way to maintain your happiness forever. For that, He will undergo
all the misery, which is the result of all your evil deeds. As you are prepared for the
misery to please the Lord, the Lord is prepared for the misery to please you. In this field
people think that the materialistic field is spoiled. It is utter foolishness.

In Pravrutti you have gained ten rupees. In Nivrutti you have gained one hundred and ten
rupees but lost the ten rupees in Pravrutti. Therefore, the loss in Pravrutti is very much
compensated in Nivrutti. You will find wonders in the materialistic field. All your day-to-
day interactions will be so perfect, which will amaze not only yourself but also the entire
world. It is a very far superior level. You will be unable to tolerate the benefits of the
materialistic field, which will fall on you as mountains. His real devotee is neither
insulted in this world nor in the upper world. Your file in the hell is completely closed.
Your route is entirely different and leads to the permanent abode of God. The route of the
pure materialistic person is towards hell and heaven. Even from the heaven he has to
return back into this world where the atmosphere is risky again and you have to
overcome the attraction from sin to do good social service. The result of your social
service is temporary heaven only. Both these roads are clearly different as said in Gita
(Sukla Krishna Gathee….).

At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami

32. The only knowable experience about God is that God exists

God is always unimaginable and unknowable for any human being under any
circumstances because He is beyond the dimensions of space and time and this is very
much stressed in Veda and Gita. There is no second thought about this point and
Shankara also told the same that God could be understood only in deep sleep. In deep
sleep (Sushupti) there is no item that understands (Jnata) because the process of
understanding (Jnanam) disappears. When the process of burning disappears, there is no
fire. If you say that the process of knowing itself is the knower, then also the knower is
absent because there is no process of knowing in the deep sleep. The knower can be no
more a knower if the knower loses the process or quality of knowing. Then the knower is
converted into inert item in deep sleep. In fact, this is true according to science also
because the knower or process of knowing is converted into inert energy in deep sleep.
Shankara means by this that God is unknown as indicated by the deep sleep, in which a
state of total ignorance remains indicating that any one is totally ignorant about God
(Sushuptyekasiddhah…). You cannot say that the knower or the process of knowing
(Knowledge) itself is God, because in such case God is not eternal who is daily vanishing
(converted into inert energy) and is daily born (inert energy is converted into knower or
knowledge). This is not acceptable because God is eternal. To evaluate the unknowable
answer, you represent the answer by X and then get the answer for X using the given
data. But in the case of God, the answer will be always unknowable and unimaginable
only.

The link between the unknowable God and the knowable items of the world is also
unknowable and hence no related data of God can be knowable. In the problem, since the
answer is knowable, the data related to the knowable answer is also knowable with the
help of which the knowable answer can be evaluated. But that is not the case with God.
Hence, any knowable item of the creation can be made as the representative of God. The
only knowable experience about God is that God exists. This is established by the
knowable experience of unknowable nature of God. The unknowable nature of God is
experienced but such nature cannot be analyzed and hence such nature is always
concluded as unknowable. For example a small boy ( Krishna ) lifting up the huge
mountain is seen and the existence of the unknowable nature of the boy is experienced.
Since, such nature could not be analyzed, it remains always as the unknowable item.
Hence, Veda says that only the existence of the unknowable God is experienced
(Astetyeva….). Since, there is full freedom in selecting any knowable item to represent
God, the best suitable item for explaining the status of the unimaginable God is
awareness according to Shankara.

33. Meaning of end of world and second coming of Jesus

Tribulation comes in every human generation. Tribulation should be understood in its

inner sense. The sun becomes black. The sun means the intelligence or the discrimination
power. Black means the evil direction. The moon becomes red. Moon stands for mind
(Chandrama Manasah –Veda). The red colour indicates emotion and anger. The divine
bodies escape their orbits. The divine bodies mean the feelings of good people. Orbits
mean the paths of justice. Like this one should understand the inner meaning. It is
scholastic language. Jesus is a great scholar.

The same tribulation is mentioned in Gita “whenever the tribulation appears in any
human generation and at any place, I shall come down in the human form to set it right”
(Yadahi Yadahi—Gita). In Gita “Dharma Glanih” means tribulation. This tribulation may
take place in physical sense at the end. The re-incarnation of the Jesus to judge and
punish is nothing but the “Kalki” incarnation mentioned in Hinduism. It is a very
powerful incarnation. But mean while the Lord will come again and again to change the
people through the divine knowledge. After many efforts, the final step is taken. When
you say that Jesus will come again, it means He will come again and again to preach and
change. Such interpretation synchronises with Gita also.

At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami

34. How To Reach God and How To Recognize Him

For humanity God is confined to the human form only. Even the recognition itself is very
difficult. Even after recognition it is more difficult to stand on it because He exhibits the
Maya of three qualities. One in millions and that too in one birth after millions of births
can identify and please the God with full sacrifice and service. Like this Gita says
(Kaschit mam….).

The possibility to reach God is only in one human birth. If you miss it you may get other
human births but without that chance. The five-fold service by words, by mind, by
intelligence, by sacrifice of work and by sacrifice of fruit of work can be the only path to
get the grace of the God. The absolute reality is that God does not require any service and
sacrifice from any soul. In this state the creation does not exist it self. But He created the
universe for entertainment. He gave independence and intelligence to all the souls. God
has removed the knowledge that this entire universe is His wealth only. He imposed
ignorance on Himself and on the souls. In the state of this ignorance only, through
sacrifice and service the love is proved. Such love only gives happiness to heart. There
can be no better entertainment than this.

You are bringing out this point to escape from sacrifice and service. Such over
intelligence arises due to your blind love on family and your selfishness. If you go to that
absolute state of reality your self and creation disappear. If your point is correct, don’t ask
God for anything. You want Advaita when you give something to Him. You need dvaita
when he has to give some thing to you. If you do not aspire anything from Him do not
give anything to Him. In fact the highest devotion is to give every thing to Him without
aspiring anything from Him. But you are reverse to this. Apart from this, you show over
intelligence!

35. Destroying the Seed – Ending the Cycle of Reincarnation

Now the main point is how to escape from this cycle? You cannot escape from this cycle
by preventing the deed or punishment. If you are tied with a rope, you will not do the
deed as long as you are tied. You will do the deed as soon as you are released from the
rope. You may escape the result of your deed here by someone’s recommendations, but
you cannot escape from it in hell. The only way to stop this cycle is to destroy the thought
which is the initiating seed of this cycle. How to destroy it?

The seed is a thought which is a living property (sentient property) or a property of life. If
it were an inert property like light or heat, it could be prevented by physical methods.
Only knowledge, which is another living property, can destroy this thought. Only a
diamond can cut another diamond. The wrong knowledge, which generates this sin, is
dangerous. Ignorance, which is zero, is better than wrong knowledge, which is minus
(negative). Therefore only righteous knowledge can destroy wrong thoughts. You can
differentiate the right knowledge from the wrong knowledge through careful, patient
analysis and discrimination. The knowledge of God alone can create devotion in your
mind and develop it. Thus by knowledge alone can you get rid of this cycle and attain and
please God. Shankara says “Jnanat eva tu kaivalyam”, which means that knowledge
alone can give salvation. Jesus preached the same spiritual knowledge throughout
His life.

At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami

36. Only by the command of God, one should become the spiritual preacher.

The spiritual field is most important because it is related to the eternal welfare of the soul.
If you mislead a soul in the spiritual path, that is the greatest sin and you will have to face
the highest punishment in the hell. Never become a spiritual preacher through false ways
and face the highest punishment. Only by the command of God, one should become the
spiritual preacher as told by Shri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. The spiritual preacher must
have the complete and correct knowledge. The incomplete correct knowledge is allowed
if the students are up to that level only. But here also, you should expose the necessity of
further level of knowledge.

A schoolteacher has a low degree that is required to that standard. But he should show the
path to college and university after the school. He should not say that the school is the
ultimate highest level. If he says like that, the student stops there only. But, the wrong
knowledge, whether complete or partial is dangerous. To attain the complete and correct
knowledge, you must analyze the scriptures with the most powerful logic and the latest
science. Unless you complete this, do not enter the position of the spiritual preacher.

So, My dear friends! I am just an ordinary soul like anyone of you from the point of the
material of body (Matter and energy) and soul (Pure awareness). I am lower than any soul
on this earth from the point of the good deserving qualities of the soul (good qualities of
Sattvam). I have Rajas and Tamas only with a trace of Sattvam because the three qualities
have to co-exist always.

At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami

37. Sex - Homo Sexuality- Spirituality

First of all, one should know that the concept of sex should not be magnified and should
not be given over attention. Sex is a biological need of the body like hunger and thirst. It
is a biological issue at physical level because, when the food is taken, a part of it is
supplied to the reproductive system, by which, it gives signals in the form of sexual
desire for the growth of human race on this earth. It is created by God for this purpose so
that the souls come down to the earth through the bodies created by sexual union. Thus,
sex is a factor involved in the divine mission, which functions in a circular way by
bringing down the souls to the earth and taking them away from the earth.

Disease is another biological need for the body to disintegrate and liberate the soul for its
journey to the upper world. This is the cycle of creation called as “karma chakra”, which
involves of taking the souls to the upper world for treatment and bringing down the souls
after treatment. Birth is a vehicle in one direction running with the petrol called sex.
Death is the same vehicle running in reverse direction with the petrol called illness. Petrol
is one and the same and therefore sex is a type of illness, which is in the divine service of
God and should not be looked down or aversed. Sex is divine and its deity is
“Manmadha” or “kama deva”, who is the son of Lord Narayana only. He is doing the
divine duty following the path of Pravritti or justice. In the Gita, Lord said that He is
kama, following justice (Dharmaaviruddhah...). There is no need of shy in feeling hungry,
thirsty, sleepy, spitting, urination, excretion etc. which are just simple biological,
universal and routine activities. Sex is also in the same list, about which you should not
think so much.

If you have understood the divine purpose of sex, there is no meaning in the
homosexuality. It can be taken as a peculiar type of the biological need, which has no
divine purpose. Satisfaction of hunger by eating food is not the divine aim. To maintain
the body for doing Sadhana is the divine purpose and hunger is a signal indicating the
same point. Without knowing this aim, some people say, “What is this eating, sleeping,
living etc?” It shows their ignorance about the main aim of the human life. According to
many, the aim of the human life is to enjoy the life with the family and get name and
fame in the society as a rich man or as a scholar or as a capable person etc. Many feel that
they have lifted the Govardhana hill by earning money and by bringing up their children.

They feel that their lives are fulfilled when the circle of their friends and relatives
appreciate him as a great disciplined person by uplifting his children. He wants
appreciation from the friends and relatives by words like “How much educated and rich
he is! Yet see his humbleness, humility and simplicity!” The poor fellow become
unconscious by this hypnotic church and helps them, whose aim is only the help from
him. When the help is over, their suppressed jealousy comes out who will be abusing
him. Thus, his life is neither fulfilled in this world, nor in the upper world.

The sages saw Rama and liked to embrace Him. Is it not homosexuality? No. They will
not have such feeling, which is unjust and unnatural also. It is unjust because, it does not
serve the purpose of reproduction, which is the divine justice. It is also not a natural path
of satisfying the sex hunger. They had beautiful wives and reproduced children, thus
serving the divine mission of the Lord. Moreover, they did not like to embrace Him in the
same forms as males. They liked to embrace Him after transforming into females. This
does not come under Pravritti, because they have wives and children already. This comes
under nivritti in which the climax of love towards God called as devotion, which crosses
all the limits of nature and justice. It is infinite love towards God, which is unimaginable.

The context of such feeling is neither reproduction, which is divine mission nor the
pacification of sex-hunger, which is a biological need. It is the unimaginable attraction of
the heart of the devotee towards the Lord. This attraction is not simply based on the
physical beauty of the Lord, which is meaningless, if analysed. It is the attraction of the
heart of the devotee towards the total personality of the Lord. There is no distinction of
male and female in nivritti. It is the point between God and soul. The same soul can exist
in a body of male or female. The attraction between the soul and God cannot be
compared to the attraction between two souls. Thus, there is a fundamental difference
irrespective of the biological sex, which is related to the bodies. “Pumsaam mohna
rupaaya” means that the sages are attracted by the divine personality. Moha means
attraction and not sex. Kama is sex.

The husband wants that his wife should not be attracted by other males, but he is attracted
by other females. Similar is the case with wife. Shri Rajaneesh attacked this issue in this
way and such approach is only partial. What about the case in which one is attracted to
the side while the other remains chaste? You cannot generalise the case of some people to
all. Here is a person, who is very loyal to his wife and she is attracted by somebody else.
Shri Rajneesh liberalized the concept by finding fault with the other side also. In general,
he may be correct. But, what about a specific case? Ofcourse, this case may be otherwise,
because tomorrow I may get a problem from a chaste wife complaining about her
husband for his side attraction.

Therefore, one should not misunderstand Me siding only chaste wives or only chaste
husbands. The issue is if one side is chaste and the other side is not chaste, what should
be the solution? The solution for this is again multi-dimensional and multi-stepped. First
of all, I should question whether the marriage took place by the full consent of both boy
and girl. Sometimes the consent is given by boy or girl as a ‘no objection certificate’. But
that is not sufficient for a marriage. It should have a positive certificate of intensive
attraction towards each other. The attraction becomes permanent and real if it is based on
the total personality. Mere physical appearance is only one factor. If the physical
appearance alone is the basis, the love should reduce as the old age comes or if the
appearance is spoiled by some illness or accident in life. Buddha was attracted to
Amrapali in her old age to serve her.

The husband or wife gets attracted by a better ‘total personality’ of opposite sex,
whenever met in life. Mental attraction is hidden by several people by controlling their
words. Words and actions of body are inert and do not participate in the sin. When this
body, which spoke or did some wrong activity is left over here, the soul is taken to hell in
some other energetic body and is punished. If the body is a participant of the sin, it
should be directly taken to hell and should be punished. Therefore, in the hell, the mind is
punished through another new body. Therefore, the sin is in the mind and not in the body.
Once the mental attraction is there, the sin is recorded. The words and actions of body are
works of inert energy and have no sin.

When Sita was carried by Ravana, the body of Sita was fully touched by Ravana by force
as per Valmiki Ramayana. This was referred by Sita, herself, (yadyaham gatra
samsparsam…). But such attraction was not in her mind and therefore she was declared
pure by fire God (Agni). Renuka got mental attraction towards a king on the banks of
Narmada river and she did not touch him even by finger. But she was declared as sinner
and her head was cut by her son, Parasurama. Therefore, after marriage, to get attracted
by another person is a sin and the soul is punished in the hell. If the other side is also not
chaste, will the sin get mutually cancelled and so no punishment to any one? No. Both
will be punished in the hell. Therefore, the philosophy of Shri Rajneesh in this point does
not save the soul in any way.

To get rid of such sin and the consequent hell, the control of mind cannot be the true path,
which is impossible. Some control food, but it is not a permanent solution because such
feelings (samskaras) are precipitated from several millions of births. You cannot control
the mind through the body, when the mind (samskara) is controlling your body. Such
precipitated samskara, called as prakruti or nature acquired from millions of births
decides the course of action finally as said in the Gita (prakrutistvaam niyokshyati…).
The only permanent and real solution for this is to realize the real aim of the human life
and turn to God. The attraction towards God is like a mega-tsunami in which the side
attraction towards another personality disappears like a flood of river. No other side
attraction can exist, when the divine personality of God appears.

This attraction is totally different since it is the bond between God and soul and not a
bond between souls. There is no aspect of male or female here. Rama went for golden
deer, even though Lakshmana tried to stop him. Here it appears as if Rama is more
attracted by the female devotee compared to a male devotee. No. It is the climax of His
love on the soul of Sita only and not on her body. The same Rama said to stop the war
and was prepared to leave the life when Lakshmana became unconscious in the war. Here
Rama neglected Sita before Lakshmana. This context shows the love of the Lord on the
soul of Lakshmana, irrespective of the external body. In such tsunami of love on Lord,
both justice and injustice disappear. If one realises this divine knowledge he attains the
Lord and crosses both good and bad (Buddhiyogam tam yenamaaam, Buddhyaa yukto,
Buddhiyukto jahatiha ubhe …the Gita). Both the hell and heaven are thrown out when
you approach the divine Lord as said in the Veda (Punyapaape vidhuya…).

The divine knowledge will make you realize that though this world is real for the soul,
the bonds between souls are unreal and dramatic. The sage Astavakra preaches the King
Janaka through “Astavakra Samhita”, in which, the sage says that the mother and son in
this life are becoming husband and wife in the next life! It is a hero and heroine acting
two different roles in different pictures. We have two pictures running side by side in two
theatres in which the same couple of actors acting as husband and wife in one picture and
acting as mother and son in another picture! This bond did not exist in the past birth and
will not exist in the future birth. That which was unreal in the past and will be unreal in
the future is also unreal in the present according to Shankara.

It is just a dramatic bond. Realize the main aim of human life and concentrate on that.
You are unnecessarily worried in the side activity, which is just a change for recreation.
Let her or him go to hell. Do not bother about it. There should be no tension in a game for
a student. Game is just a recreation arranged for change. Do not be jealous on a classmate
in a game. Be jealous in studies on the same classmate, because study is the main aim of
your college life. Attractions are spontaneous, which can neither be created nor
suppressed by force. A forced attraction by fear is not real and what is the use of such
faith and love? In spiritual path also, the attraction to God should be spontaneous and
natural without fear or force. Fulfilling the desires is the force. Fear is for the hell.

Gopikas were prepared to go to hell in the love of the Lord and no force on the earth
could deviate them from it. The attraction should be spontaneously generated in a free
atmosphere without any attraction to boons and without any fear for the hell. In the
human incarnation, the human form masks the real nature of the Lord so that a free
atmosphere is created without fear and fulfilment of desires by using His super powers.
Such love is really sweet. God created this Universe to taste such real sweet love of His
devotees. When the Lord showed His mega energetic form (Viswarupam), Arjuna
shivered with high tension. In such state can you even think of love? The love of Prahlada
to Vishnu was spontaneous. His father tried to resist it and divert to Lord Shiva. The
resistance increased the devotion more and more.

Therefore, the realization of the main aim of human life, the realization of the family life
as a side activity for recreation of the soul, the realization of unreal dramatic bonds of
family will remove all the tensions. The ignorance of the real aim of this life and the
ignorance of the unreality of these bonds are responsible for these high tensions. A
realized soul will laugh at such problems (karma bandham prahasyasi …the Gita).

The gross body is inert and is like a cloth of the soul. Sex is the momentary happiness
that is experienced by the physical touch of the two inert gross bodies. People use the
word ‘love’ for sex. Love is the quality of subtle body (the inner item), which is made of
qualities. Sex is the physical action of the gross body, like hunger, thirst etc., which is a
biological function. Sex (kama) is related to body and love (Prema) is related to mind.
Body and mind are mutually linked. Both sex and love are created by God for the divine
work of reproduction of souls (dharma) which is the essential basis of His divine drama.
All this is the issue between two souls only. After death, both sex and love disappear
because even the recognition of the other soul does not exist any more. The love towards
God is called as Bhakti, which is eternal, because the bond with God is eternal. Love is
not eternal as it is limited to this birth only.

At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami

38. Love on one another

If a Christian loves another Christian as his brother, there is no greatness in it. Similarly,
there is no greatness if a Hindu loves another Hindu as his brother. The greatness comes
if a Christian loves the Hindu as his brother and vice-versa. A true Christian must love a
true Hindu as his brother and should treat a wrong Christian as an outsider. Similarly a
true Hindu must love a true Christian as his brother and must treat a wrong Hindu as an
outsider. Suppose you are in a white dress. An outsider is also in a white dress, but your
own brother is in a blue dress. Based on the color of the external dress will you treat the
outsider who is in the same color of the dress as your own brother? Will you treat your
own brother as an outsider because the color of his dress is different from your dress?
You recognize your own brother not by the external dress but by the internal body in
which your own parental blood is flowing. Similarly, you recognize the outsider as an
outsider based on the point that his inner body contains some other parental blood.
Therefore, you must recognize your real brother not by the external religion but you must
recognize your brother by the internal spirituality. If the spiritual values and levels
coincide with your stage, such a devotee is your real brother whether he is a Hindu,
Christian, Muslim or a Buddhist.

For example take the spiritual value of speaking the truth. A person belonging to any
religion must be your real brother if he speaks the truth. You must treat a person as an
outsider even if he belongs to your religion but is a liar. The spiritual value is the real
parental blood i.e., descending from the original God-Father. When this is achieved,
Universal Spirituality becomes meaningful and alive. Therefore, analyze and judge the
spiritual values of the other person to make friendship with him irrespective of his
nationality, language, caste, sex, age and religion. God will be immensely pleased if this
attitude is developed. The main aim of our Universal Spirituality is only to establish such
a view in the world. Religion is only the external culture, which is related to the
language, habits of dress, habits of food and habits of regional styles of life. The external
religion is only ignorance, like the smoke covering a fire. The inner spirituality is like the
internal burning flame of the fire. The analysis is like putting on a fan that generates a
strong wind, which blows away all the external cloud of smoke and makes you visualize
the true inner fire, which is the eternal spirituality.

The Lord is giving stress on the devotees to cross the difference between good and bad
faced in the world. You should be showing the same love and kindness to both good and
bad people and also love friends and enemies in the same way. If you praise a good
person and a friend and scold a bad person and enemy, you have failed in the Yoga.

Tomorrow when you reach the Lord in the human form, He will appear bad and damage
you like anything. Then you will scold the Lord also. For example the devotees of Vishnu
criticize Lord Siva, since Lord Siva appears with the qualities of Tamas. This is very
important essence of Gita that one will succeed in the tests of the Lord in human form
only if he raises himself above the three qualities (Satvam, Rajas and Tamas).

Therefore you should not be disturbed by the negative qualities or positive qualities in the
world like insult and honor, enmity and friendship, loss and benefit, misery and happiness
etc (Gunanetanatetyatrin—Gita). Only such devotee can succeed the tests of the Lord and
can please the Lord. This yukta state, which is the final stage of the Yoga, is called as the
real sanyasa. Here the word sanyasa does not mean the external indications like saffron
cloth, leaving the house etc (Naniragnih—Gita).

The sanyasin is that person who has completely sacrificed everything and everyone for
the sake of the service to the Lord. Such sanyasin or yukta alone can be fully blessed by
the Lord and enters the innermost circle of the Lord (Brahmabhuyaya—Gita).

At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami

39. The best way of pleasing God

If you are irritated with the misery, you are indirectly criticizing God for His creation of
misery in this world. A poet becomes fully happy, if you are entertained by each poem
written by him. If you are irritated with some poems, the poet will be unhappy with you.
The poet is happy with each poem written by himself. Therefore, if you dislike anybody
or anything in this world, it amounts to disliking a particular poem of the poet. If you
love even the greatest sinner, who is your bitter most enemy and if you like every
situation in this world, then you are liking every poem of the poet in his epic (world).
This is the best way of pleasing God. The producer and director created the cinema and if
you are his beloved servant, you should like every scene and every role in the cinema
created by him, while you are giving company to him in seeing the picture. Anything
created in this world exists because God liked it. Hence, if you dislike anything or
anybody, it means that you are disliking the part of His creation, which is existing
because He already liked it.

If you are a true devotee and a loyal servant of God, His liking must be your liking. Since
God likes every thing and every body in this creation, every thing and every body exists.
If He does not like anything or anybody such thing and such living being cannot be
created at all. Since, what ever is existing is created by God and that is created because
God liked it, you must also like every thing and every body in His system created by
Himself. Even the atheist, who scolds God is liked by God like a hot dish of chilly in the
meals. In fact, God requested His loyal servant, Jaya, who is standing before His gate to
take the role of Shishupala and scold Him continuously hundred times! God wanted to eat
hundred hot dishes continuously since He was bored with the continuous sweet praises of
devotees.

At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami

40. Praying God to solve a problem is the most foolish path of ignorance
God optimize the sequence of fruits of deeds of a soul

God created this world with happiness and misery, which are alternating in the cycle like
the plates in a moving wheel. God arranged the fruits of good and bad deeds in
alternating manner even though good or bad deeds are done in a long sequence. This
reshuffled arrangement of happiness and misery resembles the sweet and hot dishes in the
meals and also resembles to a cinema containing both scenes of happiness and tragedy in
alternating manner. Such system of alternating arrangement gives continuous
entertainment not only to God but also to the individual soul. Thus, the basic intention of
the God is only to entertain Himself and also all the individual souls. Anything, either
happiness or misery bores, if it is continuous. Boring itself is misery.

If you have compelled God to give happiness continuously though your prayers and
worship, God will drag the happiness from the future cycle as a premature fixed deposit
with reduced interest and hands it over to you. He will not give happiness to you if there
is no balance of good deeds. As the impartial judge, He will not give happiness to you if
there is no good deed in your list. Therefore, asking God for continuous happiness is the
most foolish solution because it bores giving misery to you at the expense of good deeds.
You are purchasing the misery with your hard earned cash! Moreover, when all the good
deeds are exhausted, you will have the continuous misery only in all your future births.
Therefore, praying God to solve a problem is the most foolish path of ignorance.

Such happiness attained is temporary. Hence, the permanent solution is only to learn to
enjoy both good and bad results and attain continuous happiness without boring and this
is the real bliss. Bliss is the state of God, who is entertained with this world having
alternating scenes of happiness and misery. You have already learnt to be happy by
enjoying the happiness. Now through the spiritual knowledge and continuous practice,
you learn to enjoy the misery also in equal way. Now, your enjoyment becomes
continuous without boring due to absence of single phase (happiness or misery) and you
have attained the state of God which is possible though effort. Now you can say that you
are God because the maximum possible state of God is achieved
(Matbhavamagatah..Gita). Creation, Rule and Destruction of this world are impossible
for any individual soul though any effort and hence these three capabilities are irrelevant
to the spiritual effort. If you attain the aim, which is possible for attainment, it is certainly
the full success and you can claim that you are God in the total sense of the possible
achievement.

At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami

41. The devotion will lead you to the abode of God.

The good works will lead you to heaven temporarily. The bad works will lead you to hell
temporarily till you are transformed at least to a large extent. You may enter even the
permanent liquid fire or hell for your endless sin, where you have to stay till you are
completely transformed. The devotion (practical service without aspiration of any fruit in
return) will lead you to the abode of God. If your devotion is limited to the energetic
forms of the upper world or the past human incarnations, you have to return back from
the abode of the God (Abrahma Bhuvanat..Gita). If your devotion is limited to your
contemporary human incarnation, you will reach the abode of God forever (Yat Gatva na
nivartante…Gita). Of course, you will be coming to the earth in human form along with
the God in human form to assist Him in His mission so that you are in the permanent
association of God.

42. Excess of wealth is the real death of any soul

A poor fellow was a disciple of Shri Akkalkot Maharaj. Shri Maharaj took that fellow to a
forest and showed an abode of snakes. Shri Maharaj asked him to take two snakes in to
his bag. The disciple took two snakes with lot of fear and took them to his house. When
he opened the bag, both the snakes were found to be two rods of gold. What is the
message of this story? Shri Maharaj was the human incarnation of Lord Datta and was
called as Samartha Sadguru, which means that He was the capable human form of the
Lord appearing as the preacher. Hence, the message must be very capable. The message
of Lord Datta in this story is that the excess of money indicated by the abode of snakes is
very harmful like the poisonous snakes. Nobody can escape the poisonous bite of a
cluster of snakes. The poison is the ego that is injected in to the human brain due to
excess money, which kills the life. Here the life is the spiritual life. In the Sanatsujatiyam
of Mahabharata, it is told that the death means forgetting God and not leaving the human
body.

Leaving the old human body is like changing the old shirt, which should be really an
occasion of happiness only. Death means an occasion of lot of unhappiness, which is only
when God is forgotten. Therefore, the message of Maharaj is that the excess of wealth is
the real death of any soul. Only Lord Narayana lying on a big serpent and Lord Shiva
wearing serpents as jewels are exceptional cases that are not affected by these poisonous
serpents (excess wealth). This means that the excess of wealth is not poison, if it is linked
to spiritual line. The Lord advised the devotee to take only two serpents indicating the
limited wealth meant for materialistic life. Generally there is a possibility of escaping the
bite from two snakes.

43. Essence of Jesus' Preaching --- Meaning of Saving

Saving from the troubles and misery is the general sense of the word saving. In spiritual
sense saving means cutting all the worldly bonds and establishing real bond with God,
Who alone is the truth. God is truth. This means that God is infinite power. The creation
is just His imagination and is almost not true. The imagining person is said to truly exist.
The world, which is just His imagination and which is completely not nothing. The world
is made of an iota of energy of God. God is like the infinite ocean of energy. Compared to
God the world is almost nothing. Thus this entire creation is under the full control of
God. Just like the person doing some imagination creates an imaginary world in him, God
created this imaginary world in Him. The imagining person can fully control the world.
He can transform any item into any other item. He can raise a dead body in His imaginary
world. All the miracles of human incarnations can be explained only by this concept.
God who is present in the human incarnation does all these miracles only to establish this
concept. If the world is equally true, then the world is equally powerful to God. In such
case God cannot do whatever He likes. Since the world is least powerful and God is most
powerful, God controls the entire world like a very strong person controlling very weak
person. Thus the world truth indicates the omni-potent nature of God. When we say that
this world is not true, it indicates the negligible power of the world. Suppose a small ant
is on your shirt, will you say that yourself and the ant are present in the house? The ant is
negligible and is treated as nothing. Therefore, a person who knows this concept
surrenders to God and accepts Him as the saviour. In his eyes the entire world looks like
an ant before God. You are a tiny particle in this ant-world. You can understand your
position by putting a relative scale.

Assume that this ant is Infinite Ocean of energy. You are an iota of that ocean. This means
your power is negligible before the power of this entire nature. The world is like the
ocean and you are like a drop in it. God is like the ocean and the world a drop in God.
You must understand this simile not in terms of volume but in terms of the intensity of
the power. When we utter the word God, we immediately imagine Him as a very large
figure with unlimited boundaries. The space is largest but as no power as it is treated has
nothing. The atom bomb is very small but it has enormous power. Therefore, our idea
about God should not be in terms of the three-dimensional space. When a person
imagines a large city, the city is very huge but the person is very small. But that small
person has created, maintains and finally dissolves this huge city. He can do anything in
this huge city. In fact He is standing outside this huge city. When He wants to enter into
this huge imaginary city, He will imagine a small form and He identifies Himself with
that form. That small form represents the outside person. This imagined form, which is
identified by the outside person, is treated as the outside person directly. This imagined
small form is the human incarnation. The outside person is God. The imaginary huge city
is this world.

Thus God identifies Himself with the human incarnation. From this angle the human
incarnation and the God or one and the same. There is another angle in which the human
incarnation is not the original God but a part and parcel of God. In this angle God and the
human incarnation are treated as father and son. You can experience the Father only
through this Son. In the third angle the human incarnation is just sent by God into this
world as a messenger with some power. Jesus talked this truth in all the three angles.
Jesus can save any human being who has any one of these three angles. Acceptance of
Jesus as your saviour is the essential step in the spiritual effort. Here Jesus means the
human incarnation in general. Only God is the saviour. But you cannot approach God
directly. Only through the human incarnation you can approach God. This means you
should accept the human incarnation as that very God. In such case only the human
incarnation becomes your saviour.

God is like free electrons flowing in the atmosphere. These Electrons are the electricity.
Then can you heat water by keeping the vessel containing water in the atmosphere?
When these Electrons enter a medium like the metallic wire, you can heat water. If the
medium is human form it is most convenient for you to clear your doubts, to love and to
serve Him. Therefore, acceptance of Jesus as your Saviour means that you should accept
the human incarnation as your saviour. It is told that Jesus will come again. This means
that the human incarnation is coming in every human generation.

Otherwise, if one generation was only blessed by such fortune, the other generations will
charge God as partial and such charge is justified. Therefore, if you think that Jesus
means only that particular human incarnation, which came about 2000 years back, you
have lost the whole concept. Through a particular example generalization must be made.
If you say that sodium atom is indivisible it means the atom of any element is indivisible.
If you say that Daniel is born, it means that every human being will be born. If this basic
analysis is lost, the entire spiritual castle falls down due to the absence of its foundation.

44. How To Enjoy Worry

Never allow the worry to enter your heart in difficult times. When it knocks the door,
shout at it to go away. Don’t open the doors of the mind. If you allow it, it is a thief which
steals away your energy. It is like the dog that steals away your food. It is like the cat that
steals away your milk. Food is your energy and milk is your courage. When you loose
courage and energy tension is created, which is the source of all chronic diseases. Doctors
say that the tension raises the level of lactic acid in the blood, which opens all the doors
for all the chronic diseases. The physical health is spoiled because the mind and body are
related to each other. The illness in the body affects the mind. The tension in the mind
affects the body. Such tension results in the loss of memory and loss of intelligence.

In such state you are completely inefficient to plan for the solution. Your body is
incapable of executing any plan. The worry cannot solve the problem and moreover it
weakens you so that you will become permanently incapable to solve the problem.

Dharmaraja approached Bhishma before the war for blessings. Bhishma blessed him and
told that he will reveal the secret of his death when time comes. Ten days have gone and
Bhishma was killing ten thousand soldiers everyday from the army of Pandavas.
Dharmaraja developed tension during these days and lost even memory. He forgot the
assurance from Bhishma. However, Krishna never allows tension into His mind. Even
though His sons, grandsons and relatives are killing each other, He was just silent
spectator of that without any tension. Krishna immediately reminded Dharmaraja about
the initial assurance from Bhishma. Dharmaraja followed it and solved the problem.

Therefore neither should you run away from the life nor should allow the worry to enter
your mind. If your realization about the unreality of the cinema, which is this life,
continues, instead of worry, you can enjoy the problem in your life, which is as good as a
tragic scene in the cinema. You may argue that you are involved in the life and not
standing outside the life to be a spectator. This argument is not correct. The answer for
your argument is that you can enjoy the tragic scene even if you are involved in it just
like an actor acting in a drama.
If you are aware that the drama is unreal and if you are aware that you are only acting the
role which is also unreal, you can still enjoy the drama as a spectator of the cinema even
though you are involved in it.

Whenever you face difficulties and if you have not realized the unreality of the world
(forms and feelings), there are two ways to solve your problem. One way is in natural
level and the other way is in super natural level. The nature is the separated power from
the Lord, which follows the rules of the logic and is called as Prakruti. The nature is
separated because it becomes the separate object to be observed by God who is the
spectator. God created this universe to see it for His entertainment. Even if He enters the
world as human incarnation the spectatorship and entertainment continues because there
is no difference between cinema and drama as far as its unreality is considered. Therefore
if your problem is at the level of the nature, try to solve it using your courage and energy
without allowing the worry into your mind which steals both these.

If your problem is beyond the level of the nature, then also you cannot solve it by
allowing the worry. In such case the super power (Maya) has to enter into this world sent
by God. The Maya is never separated from God unlike the Prakruti. Now, only the super
power of the God can solve your problem and for this you must concentrate on God. For
such concentration also, you need the energy and therefore you should not allow the
worry to enter your mind even in this case. For doing concentration on God, you require
the congenial atmosphere of real devotees around you. Therefore whenever the problem
that requires the super power to interfere enters your life, you have to immediately
prevent the entry of the worry into your mind and you have to enter into the association
of real devotees so that you can concentrate on God for help.

If you remain in the association of the ordinary human beings, they will magnify the
impossibility of the solution and force the worry to enter your mind. If you leave the
association of these dirty people, who do not want to solve your problem and if you enter
into the association of real devotees, you can easily concentrate on God for help. God
will give an immediate stay because the problem cannot be cancelled forever due to the
cycle of deeds presided by justice. However, the temporary stay has the possibility of
permanent solution also. After the stay, there may be a chance for you to become a
liberated soul by entering into the service of the God in which case your file may be
condemned permanently.

If you are ungrateful to the help which involves the super power of God, your file will be
opened after some time and the punishment can be given to you in some other form so
that your impression about the cancelling of that problem by God is not disturbed.
Therefore, at every step of your life, become grateful to God and transform yourself as a
liberated soul through service to Him which alone can give the permanent solution.

You may be compensated regarding your loss in course of time. Thus you may recover
the loss but the time you spent in worry can never be compensated. Since your lifetime is
a fixed quantum, the loss of time cannot be compensated. If you entertain yourself with
enjoyment even during the time of loss, the time is not lost. When the loss is
compensated you have gained both the time and the lost thing.

45. Attitude of various people to service of God

There are three persons. One takes the entire salary for his day-to-day expenses without
any saving for the old age. The second person takes some salary for expenses and saves
some for old age. The third person saves the entire salary for the old age and leads a
simple life by doing some side work because the old age needs lot of money for curing
illness etc. All these three are not different in the view of the employer because the basic
selfishness is one and the same.

Similarly, one serves God only for the happiness in the world. The second person serves
God for this world and also for the upper world. The third person serves God only for the
upper world and in this world he leads a simple life by doing some work for lively hood.
All these three are not the real devotees. Shankara says that a real devotee should serve
God without aspiring anything in return in this world as well as in the upper world
(Ihamutraphalaviragah…..). This is a very clear point for the real love as can be observed
in the worldly life also. The parents love their children and serve them without aspiring
anything in return from them and hence the paternal love is said to be real and pure. On
this point, no scripture is needed as evidence because it is a very much-established point
even in the worldly affair.

46. Whether God is sadist to create this world for His entertainment

Some people criticize that God is enjoying the creation by entertaining Himself while the
souls are troubled with problems and the blame God with sadism. The entertainment of
God is not at all the sadism. Sadism is based on two points. One is: that the sadism is
exhibited in reality in the world and not in the imaginary world. For God, this world is
imaginary and not real. However, the sadism in the imaginary world may also show the
attitude towards sadism in the mind. Even that point is ruled out because the second point
for the sadism is: that a sadist enjoys by torturing some innocent person without justified
reason. Here in the case of God, the problem of the soul in the world is based on its own
actions and the punishment is given based on perfect justice. Hence, the point of sadism
cannot be attributed to God even in mind. Moreover, the soul is not concerned with the
entertainment of God because the soul is not punished on any unjust reason.

If the soul follows the rules of God in the justice, no problem can be seen by the soul. A
rich person started a college for entertainment or to escape the income tax on his wealth.
This point is unnecessary for the student as long as the college is running on the rules of
University. The student has scope to argue against the management provided any type of
injustice takes place in teaching or in the examinations. As long as the academic program
is perfectly implemented, the student has no scope of argument against the original
intention of the management in starting the college. Only a student, who is not perfectly
following the academic schedule, will bother about such irrelevant points to mask his
own defects.

If some body still argues on this point due to foolishness, the only answer is that God is
the supreme most boss and there is no body to argue with Him. If an ant comments on the
driver of car, such comment is not even heard by the driver! Since you do not know all
the actions of a soul from its childhood, you should not say that a particular soul is good
and yet is punished without justice. Neither you are capable of noting all the actions of a
soul nor you are capable of judging the action in depth. Shankara established the nature
of the world as unreal by itself and is felt real as long as the world exists based on God.
Such unreal world is imaginary. The dream cannot be real without its basic material,
which is the soul or awareness. Similarly, a pot without mud and a chain without gold are
unreal and they are imaginary or illusory. But the world is imaginary to God only and not
to your self. If you say that the world is imaginary for your self also and try to do sins,
you will have to undergo all the punishments and you must feel the punishments also as
imaginary like your sins! Your sins and their punishments are within the realm of the
world only and hence both must be imaginary!

47. One cannot become My dearest disciple unless one hates the worldly bonds

Purity means oneness. Pure gold means the single gold metal without the second metal
like copper. When a single bond exists without a second bond, such single bond is called
as pure love or devotion and this is the highest stage. In the lower stage, even if several
bonds exist, one bond only becomes the top most, before which the other bonds get
rejected in case of competition. In the childhood the paternal bond is top most. In youth
the bond with beloved or wife is top most. Afterwards the bond with children becomes
top most, which continues through out the life. The rejection of other bonds before the
top most bond is the meaning of the word “hate” used by Jesus while stating that one
cannot become His dearest disciple unless one hates the worldly bonds.

The bond with inert money is only to see the happiness in parents, wife and children
(life). The bond with one’s own life happens to be the top most bond from birth to death
and before this bond the other bonds may be rejected or this bond may be rejected before
the other bonds. It varies from one individual to the other. The bond with God is also like
the bond with money. People love God and money for the sake of happiness of self (life),
parents, wife and children only. Money and God are only the instruments to achieve
happiness for the sake of self, parents, wife and children. If these bonds are absent, the
bond with God and money disappears. This is the case of Pravrutti, which is the general
trend of most of the devotees. Only few exceptional cases exist among the devotees for
whom God becomes the top most. Such exceptional devotees come under Nivrutti and
God loves such exceptional devotees only.
The transformation of Pravrutti to Nivrutti is the real spiritual path. Jesus referred to such
devotees of Nivrutti only in His statement as said above. Krishna referred to such
devotees in Gita (Matchittah matgatapranah….). The divine cinema aims to achieve such
Nivrutti only. But people take God as an instrument to achieve protection and happiness
of worldly bonds including self. Jesus says in the above statement that His dearest
disciple must be prepared to carry on his own cross for the sake of God. This means that
one has to sacrifice even the bond with life for the sake of God. In fact, Jesus sacrificed
the bond with His life for the sake of God’s mission through crucifixion.

Hanuman ( top level devotee of God) tore His chest and heart to show God in His heart
and this also shows the sacrifice of bond with life for the sake of God. Krishna also
sacrificed the bond with His life and the bonds with His children, wife and relatives for
the sake of God’s mission. To establish justice and devotion on this earth, which is the
primary aim of God’s mission, Krishna supported Pandavas by all means and for this
sake, He received the curse from Gandhari due to which all His family and even His own
life has to be sacrificed. Such practical sacrifice with all worldly bonds including life for
the sake of God’s mission alone could prove that God is the top most. Thus, Himself
practiced what ever preached by Krishna. Practical sacrifice alone can bring the real fruit
and the theoretical knowledge and theoretical devotion should lead to the practical
sacrifice. Theory is essential for the appearance of practice. Theory is like the seed and
the subsequent practice resulting from it is like the tree. The tree alone can give the fruit.
The knowledge and devotion are like water and fertilizer, which are essential for the seed
to grow into the tree. Therefore, knowledge and devotion are important but without
practice (Service), which is the work, there is no fruit.

48. The absolute knowledge of the absolute God is impossible

The absolute knowledge of the absolute God is impossible because the absolute God is
unimaginable. The absolute God comes in human form to give you the experience of His
existence, in absence of which, you may deny the very existence of the absolute God and
may become atheist (Astityeva….Veda). The identification of the human form in which
the absolute God exists is the knowledge of God (Brahma Jnanam or Brahma Vidya).

The experience of the existence of the absolute God does not reveal any trace of the
nature of the absolute God and hence God is always unimaginable. The only information
about the absolute God is that God exists. “Aum Tat Sat” means that God exists and no
more information about God is available. The word Tat means that God is beyond your
imagination. The word Aum denotes that God is the creator, ruler and destroyer of this
world. These three adjectives indicate the works (Creation, rule and destruction) of God
only and not the nature of the God. This is called as the information about the existence
only (Sanmatra vada). God comes in human form, which is characterized by the
awareness or chit.

The awareness is fully developed up to intelligence and therefore the human form is
indicated and not birds and animals. Such human form (Chit) is not the information about
God but it is the information about the medium selected by God to enter the world. Thus,
the medium is only awareness (Chinmatra vada) and not the inert materials. The aim of
Shankara is about the selection of the medium by the God to enter the world. The Advaita
followers, who concluded that awareness itself is the absolute God, misunderstand this.
God enters the world through human form for entertainment, since the very basic aim of
the creation is only that according to Veda. Such entertainment gives Him continuous
happiness (Ananda). Thus, the word Sat-Chit-Ananda denotes the absolute God entering
the world for continuous entertainment through the human form.

49. Identifying present human incarnation

The highest preacher is only God in human form

God in human form is to be recognized through the spiritual knowledge preached by Him
and not by the miracles. The main project of God to come to the earth is only to guide the
souls to the correct spiritual path, which leads the souls to permanent welfare. Therefore,
Veda says that the real identity mark of God is the special spiritual knowledge
(Prajnanam Brahma). Who will decide that the knowledge is the best? Your own inner
conscience is the real judge to give the certificate for the knowledge of the preacher
(Pramanamantahkaranapravruttayah). For your level, whatever is the best should be the
best for you. The ultimate and absolute best is not relevant to you. Therefore, the
certificate given by others is not relevant to you since the levels of others differ from your
level. The preacher gives the spiritual knowledge to the souls in different levels according
to their corresponding levels. If you are in the highest level and if your conscience is
satisfied, such spiritual knowledge is the ultimate and such preacher is the human
incarnation of God.

The highest preacher can give lower levels of knowledge also but the lower preacher
cannot give the higher-level of knowledge. But if your level is low, the highest preacher
is of no use and you can treat the preacher of your level as the highest. Even if you catch
the highest preacher, He will give you the level of knowledge corresponding to your level
only. The advantage with the highest preacher is that you need not change the preacher as
you rise in your level. The highest preacher is only God in human form. You must filter
Him not only from ordinary human beings but also must filter Him from the other false
human incarnations. The most important point is that you must identify your
contemporary human incarnation, which alone can clarify all your doubts. Otherwise, you
can only follow the text of the past human incarnation and only your other classmates
clarify all your doubts. Then, you will be certainly confused further.

50. Donating Spiritual knowledge and donating money should be done carefully
after deep analysis
One should be very careful in taking the spiritual knowledge (Jnanam) from the preacher
and should be equally careful in giving money to a poor fellow. You should analyze the
preacher and also the poor fellow. If the preacher is not correct, the wrong spiritual
knowledge will destroy the soul forever. If the poor fellow is with bad qualities, your
donation will bring you sin. Therefore, Jnanam (Spiritual Knowledge) and Danam
(Donating money) are to be done carefully after deep analysis only. Otherwise, instead of
good results, bad results are inevitable.
