I. Preface

The compensation report 2011 offers companies active in

Romania the information necessary for the creation of a
market-conform, competitive and perfomance conducive
compensation system.
The availablity of qualified personnel at market-conform
conditions is a considerable factor for a companys competitive capacity.
Compensation is not just an expense factor, but also an
elementary management and motivational tool. To ensure
long-term market success, the structure and magnitude of
the cost of labor must be regularly reviewed and adjusted
to market conditions. This compensation report offers
decision makers well-founded guidance for these purposes:
The report is based on the real salary data for more
than 7,000 positions, therefore allowing for market
comparison at all levels.
Salary bands for 86 common position profiles, including significant compensation parameters are
represented, allowing for optimal comparison of market-based compensation systems.
This report assists companies in Romania in the optimization of their compensation policy and in turn strengthening
their competitive capacity.
We would like to thank all participating companies which,
through the contribution of extensive operational information, have enabled us to compile this report.
