EXPERIENCE 1) May 2008 to present: - Research Associate, E I DuPont India Pvt Ltd.,(Hyd) The duties are development of transgenic rice for Herbicide Resistance in Trait Characterization and development group. Current research project is utilize pioneers Optimum GAT a proprietary, cutting-edge, gene-shuffling technology that makes crops safer from Glyphosate and ALS groups of herbicides. 1. Established proof of concept for the action of GAT against Glyphosate in rice system at lab level and green house level. Established assay of Resistance plant using standard phenotypic descriptors under controlled conditions.

Responsibilities Perform experiments, manages and analyzes data and prepares reports. Follow all the compliance required by DuPont and Govt. Safety, Health and Environmental Policy for conducting Biotech Research. Communicate and collaborate with team to understand needs, capacities, and requirements to provide adequate number of high quality transformed events to get adequate amount of seed for further executions. Participate in project management activities via adopting project management practices and utilizing appropriate databases. Ensure all operations are completed in a safe and cost effective manner on time. Supervise assigned full time and temporary lab support and technicians. Manage training of part time/seasonal workers to meet project objectives. Accountable for assigned projects by maintaining efficient daily operations. Involved in Greenhouse management for taking care of BMP for transgenic events by ensuring day-to-day pest control, fertility management, and water management as per approved DBT guidelines. 2) November 2007 to April 2008:- Trainee in Krishidhan Seeds Ltd., Associated with development of transgenic cotton resistance against biotic stresses. 3) July 2006 to September 2007:- Masters thesis research Cloning of HR related gene(hsr203j homologue) and its expression profiling during phytopathogenesis of alternaria blight in Brassica sp., with Dr. B R Singh, Dept of Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering, G.B.P.U.A&T , Pantnagar.

WORKING SKILL(S) Understanding of working with breeding nurseries, agronomic trials in the field, inbred descriptors and variety registration. Have proved experience of out crossing (emasculation technique) in rice. Familiar with two line hybrid rice development using cms restorer and maintainer. Experience in sowing and harvesting operations of rice (transgenic and non transgenic) under GH Condition. Have the ability to train/supervise supporting staff and have the ability to work as a strong team member as well as work independently. Ready to work in the field and travel across the country. Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to interact with and facilitate complex projects across diverse groups (Research Scientists, Growers, Universities, etc). Excellent written/verbal communication skill.
