fest, Australian Award, DM Asia, AdStars Korea, Golden Bell Vietnam and panel chairman at Chillies Sri Lanka and Singapore Creative Circle; Managing Director of the Sweet Shop Asia Pacific MENA Region New Zealand George Mackenie; and founder of GKIM pte Ltd Graham Kelly who has also served the juries of the worlds leading creative awards, including: Cannes, The One Show, Asia Pacific Adfest, The Spikes and Clios. And here are some of their comments about Pinasthika Creative Festival that will highlight how the festival really has its potencies and chances to dance regionally. The Indonesian Pinasthika Awards have been the spring board for local talent all along, picked up by international agencies in the capital, and even making their marks overseas. Work that has been awarded here was successful in global shows. But what truly differentiates Pinasthika is the Indonesian spirit, human, with happiness of the individual at its core, Birger Linke said in a comment addressed to Pinasthika 2011. Meanwhile, Graham Kelly said, The ad industry talks a lot about nurturing talent, but on the whole were not particularly good at it. This is why the Pinasthika Awards are important. For over a decade the show has supported, encouraged and motivated Indonesias creative community. Masako Okamura noticed the remarkable progress in the Indonesian advertising in the last few years and encouraged Pinasthika to move forward, Weve seen remarkable progress in the Indonesian advertising last few years. Among them, entries in Pinasthika shows something sparkling. This year I am looking forward to watching the silver lining not only in Indonesia but also in other Asian countries. Lets make the dream of Pinasthika to be the first International Advertising Festival specifically for local agencies in Asia as part of our dreams as well. Associations, agencies, practitioners, media, government and all of us have the shares and chances to make it come true.

Pinasthika 2011
THE EVENTS
The 12th Pinasthika Creative Festival 2011 has ended, but the spirit and passion kept on echoing among us. In general, all agenda and programs have run successfully although - as some of us might know - the time available for all preparation was very limited this year, probably even the shortest ever compared to earlier years. However, the positive spirit among committee members as well other stakeholders has been able to change any obstacle into opportunity to work together to succeed the festival. Bringing the theme Magical Ideas, Pinasthika Creative Festival 2011 changed the color of the Ball Room of Sheraton Mustika Hotel in Yogyakarta into magi20 ADOI NOVEMBER DESEMBER 2011

Nurturing Spirit Of Winners

Pinasthika Creative Festival 2011 closed its days with the awarding night. Pinasthika, which has transformed from advertising festival into creative festival this year, has again proven its quality with acknowledgment that not only came from the creative industries, but also from the government that has listed it as one of the trade ministrys annual agenda since last year. That night, the ball room of Sheraton Mustika Hotel was fully occupied by participants and audiences who enjoyed lesehan (sitting on the floor). Although the committee also presented a unique and creative performance, the audiences apparently paid more attention to the announcement of winners from each category and sub-category. Claps and shouts echoed along the session every time the master of ceremony

announced the winner. Unfortunately, several categories did not have any nominees. This might prove two things, firstly due to the tight assessment by the board of juries, and secondly due to the absence of entries considered as qualified enough for nomination. As announced in the awarding night, the Best of the Best Categories in Pinasthika this year went to ExistComm from Yogyakarta, the agency that also won the same category last year. ExistComm was named as the Most Creative Agency for Baskara main category. Meanwhile, the Most Creative Agency for Bawana category was presented to the Drawing Squad from Jakarta. Next, Petakumpet Yogyakarta successfully won the Most Graphic Design Agency. Some other outstanding agencies that had won several awards were Srengenge

Graphic Design, Syafaat Marcomm, Juara Idea, Kotasis Kamar Desain 3x3x3, AbankIrenk, IDEATE, and OCTIS Marketing Communication. Published on the next pages are creative works that have successfully won Pinasthika Creative Awards.
