LIMITATIONS
GENERAL The FMSs comply with AC 20-130A and in particular meet the accuracy criteria of AC 20-130A for en-route, terminal areas provided the FMS is not in Dead Reckoning (DR in PFD) and is not in a degraded navigation mode (DEGRADE message in PFD and DGRAD lighting in CDU), and satisfy the accuracy criteria of AC 20-129. The minimum navigation performance required by NAT MNPS regulations (French arrt of November 5th, 1987 and FAR Part 91 Appendix C) are demonstrated provided that there are at least 2 FMSs and 2 IRSs in NAV mode operating on board or 2 GPS or 1 IRS in NAV mode operating on board and 1 GPS. Dual FMZ2000 software NZ4.5 with GPS equipment P/N HG2021GD02 system, as installed has been found to comply with the requirements for GPS primary means of navigation in oceanic and remote airspace as defined by FAA Order 8110.60 when used in conjunction with the P/N 169-613970-105 or later approved prediction program. The here-above statement is valid if there is no FMS and/or GPS related failure message/label on PFD and CDU. This does not constitute an operational approval. LIMITATIONS FMZ2000 navigation must be periodically verified during the flight by comparison with the other means of navigation. FUEL, TIME and SMART PERF prediction information are provided for advisory purposes only and must not be used for flight planning. FMS must not be used for navigation above 75 North and below 75 South latitudes. APPROACH Use of the FMS during approach is forbidden: - Except for published RNAV procedures, a transcription of published VOR, VOR / DME, GPS overlay or ADF approach procedures. - If the navaids specified in the procedures are not available and displayed on the EFIS and actively monitored by the crew. - If the APPRCH annunciator in the CDU and the cyan APPR annunciation on the EFIS are not illuminated before FAF. - If one of the DGRAD or DR annunciator is illuminated.

CAUTION For the approach procedures where the MAP (Missed Approach Point) is located after the runway threshold, after passing the FAF (Final Approach Fix), approach must be performed: - Either by deselecting VNAV and descending in Vertical Speed mode down to MDA (Minimum Descent Altitude). - Or by performing a vertical DIRECT TO towards the runway threshold, provided any published intermediate altitudes and/or the MDA (as applicable) are selected as level off altitudes on the ASEL. Do not tune ILS frequency remotely using CDU. VERTICAL NAVIGATION - Observing the minimum safe altitude and obstacle clearances remains a crew responsibility. - Do not engage VNAV on the ground. - If ASEL is above the airplane, VNAV can be engaged just after take-off. GPS
DASSAULT AVIATION Proprietary Data

GPS is not approved as a primary means of navigation for continental en-route, approach and terminal operations. Use of the FMS during approach is forbidden for non precision GPS procedure (GPS Stand Alone Approaches). AVIONICS When descending in VVS mode, the flight director reverts automatically in VFLC speed 250 kt when crossing 10,000 ft. If the crew uses a preselected NAV source in approach, after landing or go-around, the only way to deselect this preselected NAV source is to perform a PFD to MFD reversion then cancel this reversion. In FMS NAV to ILS mode, when entering the area of LOC source preselected, if the VNAV mode is not engaged, it is impossible to engage it.

Part 2
PAGE 1 / 2 Issue 1

NORMAL PROCEDURES
GENERAL If remote/oceanic operations are based on GPS only, check FDE availability before flight. Check waypoints and altitude constraints using published charts (SID, STAR, APP, GA). Constantly check the trajectory compared to the published procedure by displaying on the EFIS the navaids provided for in the procedure. APPROACH - Engage LNAV mode and activate APPROACH on CDU. - Check APPRCH annunciator of the CDU is illuminated white and APPR is illuminated cyan on EFIS to inform the crew that the system is configured properly to conduct (non precision) approach, using FMS for navigation. VERTICAL NAVIGATION - In order to engage the VNAV mode, select the NAV SOURCE FMS on the coupled side. - Check altimeter setting on the coupled side (the FMS uses the altitude information given on the PFD on the coupled side). - Engage VNAV mode. - For approach, decrease the ASEL down to MDA. HOLDING PATTERN CAUTION The FMS does not always take into account the published maximum Holding Pattern speed. Only the protection area calculated in accordance with the FAA (7130-3) model is taken into account. - Adapt and stabilize the airplane speed 2 minutes prior the airplane overflies the fix for the first time. - Check that the FMS message HIGH HOLDING GRD SPD is out when passing the entry point.

GO-AROUND - Activate the go-around procedure by depressing the GO AROUND pushbutton on the control column (the MISSED APPROACH procedure is then automatically set in the FMS). - Reselect the NAV SOURCE FMS. - Select ASEL at the required altitude. - Engage LNAV and VNAV as needed. NOTE The MISSED APPROACH pushbutton of the CDU does not activate the go-around procedure. It is used to enter the missed approach procedure into the FMS. It has no action on the horizontal and vertical modes. The ASEL must be increased up to the go-around altitude.
