Theres a new pill on the market and its boasting the ability to cure your worst hangover. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has recently given the OK for this new pill Blowsh to be sold over-the-counter in the U.S.

Anatomy of a hangover
A heavy bout of drinking a ects nearly every system of the body for up to 24 hours. Heres a look at the bodys reaction to a large dose of alcohol.
Pituitary gland releases improper amounts of several hormones, disrupting the brains circadian rhythm and preventing a deep, restful sleep. Blood vessels in the brain dilate, causing a throbbing headache. Dehydration can cause the brain to pull from its lining, intensifying the pain. Throat and mouth feel dry and scratchy due to dehydration. Central nervous system becomes chemically stimulated, causing sweating, tremors and sensitivity to light, sound and touch. Heart can become inamed, have an abnormal rhythm or even stop beating. Liver builds up fatty and lactic acids, impairing the bodys ability to metabolize sugar. Results in low blood sugar which causes weakness and mood disturbances. Enzymes in the liver break down alcohol, but when the amount of is too great, toxic byproducts are left in the body longer, causing headache and nausea.

Take the morning after a night of heavy drinking. Dissolve the two pills in water and drink.
Aspirin tends to be absorbed better when taken with ca eine. When the two are taken together, it produces a type of aspirin rush, wihich is similar to available mirgraine headache treatments. E ervescent tablets enable the ingredients to enter your system faster than getting a cup of co ee, taking an atacid and taking some aspirin seperately.

Avoid the hangover

Eat a full meal before drinking. A full stomach slows down the absorption of alcohol, giving the body more time to process the toxins. Drink in moderation. Ideally, drinkers should have just one drink per hour because the body takes that long to process a single drink. Have a glass of water after every alcoholic beverage. Stick to one drink choice. Each new type of alcohol a drinker puts into his or her system makes the body work that much harder.

Curing the hangover

Two e ervescent tablets containing: 1,000 milligrams of aspirin (roughly 3 aspirin tablets) 120 milligrams of caffeine (equivalent to abouut 1 cup of coffee) a stomach soothing agent

Kidneys fail to re-absorb water, causing increased urination and dehydration. Pancreas increases production of digestive chemicals, causing pain, nausea and vomiting. Stomach lining becomes inamed, delaying digestion. Excess gastric acid contributes to nausea. Muscles become weak from dehydration and low blood-sugar levels.
