AWARDED 75 WIND MEGAWATTS TO GESTAMP WIND IN SOUTHAFRICA (Madrid, December 16th 2011).

The 75MW Nobelsfontaine Wind Farm in Southafrica, promoted by Gestamp Wind, wind energy division of Gestamp Renewables (Corporacin Gestamp), has been selected as preferred bidder" and will have a power sales agreement for 20 years, with revenue of over 480 million Euros. This farm, which Gestamp Wind promotes as major shareholder with its local partners, is located in Northern Cape region, and it will require an investment of over 120 million Euros. It will start operating in 2013. With this awarding Gestamp Wind reassures its commitment to wind development in
international markets allowing more power for this technology. Over 70% of the 70 million Euros budget of 2012 will come from overseas markets. This percent will be, in 2013, above 90%. Dionisio Fernndez Auray, Gestamp Wind CEO, said: With this new awarding we reassured our internationalization project. In addition, Gestamp Wind intends to submit to the next auctions that the Southafrican Government plans to hold in 2012.
