1.3 Downloading and Installing the Game

After you have successfully created a website Username and a game User ID, the next step is to download the
game itself.

Go to http://www.cabalonline.com/data/default.asp

You will be able to download the game using one of the two links. (It is entirely at your discretion which you
choose).

Option ONE

This option will download AND install the game for

you. It is a no hassle, automatic installer and if you
lose your internet connection; this will allow you to
resume your download.

If you click on this option, you may get a

security warning.

Click “Run” from the options.

You will then get a further security

warning upon running
cabal_downloader.exe.

Click “Run” from the options.

7
The download and installation process
will then start.

It may take a long time depending on the

network connection.

Option TWO

This option will download and save the setup

program for CABAL Online. Unlike the CABAL
Online Official Installer, it is not an automated
installer and so you will need to complete the
installation process yourself once the program has
downloaded.

Once the installation program has downloaded, run the setup program and follow the instruction as they appear.

2. Getting in Game

2.1 Starting CABAL Online

Upon installation, a CABAL Online icon should be

created on your Desktop.

Double-click the icon to start CABAL Online.

A start-up screen will appear.

It provides an overview off what’s new in

the world of CABAL.

It contains a link to the homepage as well

as the latest announcements made and
some useful hints and tips.

Whenever there is a new update available

it will automatically download.

As soon as the download is complete you

can start the game by clicking the “Start”
button.

After a short wait, the login screen will

appear.

Fill in the User ID and Password

Selecting the “Save ID” checkbox will

allow the game to store your ID; the
password however must be entered every
time you restart the game.

You can then click “OK” to enter the

game or “Exit” to return to windows.

9
2.2. Selecting a Server

A “Server Select” screen will now appear.

Here you can select the server and channel

you want to play on (Mars or Mercury).

It is important to note that a character you

make on one server will only be available
to you on that server; however it will be
available to all the channels on that server.

Having several channels on a server is a

way to distribute players across a server.
All channels appear exactly the same, but
you will only be able to see other players
who have selected the same channel as
you. So, if you login to the game with a
friend, make sure you both select the same
channel.

Upon clicking on the servers, you will see

that some channels are in green and some
are white.

The channels in green have Player Killing

disabled. This means you can not kill other
players unless they accept a duel from you.

The channels in white have Player Killing

enabled. This means you can kill other
players without requesting a duel.

Once you have highlighted your chosen

channel, click on the “Connect Server”
button.

10
2.3 Creating a Character

Once you have connected to the server,

you can now create a character.

Click “Create” under the Select Character

menu

You can personalise your character by

specifying its aspects:

Name: enter a name for your character.

Try not to use your real name or User ID.
If your chosen name has already been
taken, the game will tell you.

Gender: specify your characters gender

Battle Style: choose a battle style for your

character. For more information go to
http://www.cabalonline.com/gameinfo/d
efault.asp

Appearance: you can define the personal

features you wish your character to have.

Your character has now been created!

Press “Start” to begin playing CABAL

Online with your character.

A loading screen will appear.

The connection time will differ depending

on connection speeds.
11
You are now successfully in CABAL
Online.

Welcome and have fun!

12
3. Game Controls

In-game controls are combined keyboard and mouse.

You may prefer one or the other but as you get more skills you will find you need to use both to maximise your
game play.

Here is a map for the shortcut keys:

Many of the functions on the keyboard can be reproduced by the mouse.

The left mouse click is used to bring up the functions and move things around in your Inventory and Storage.
The right mouse click is used to equip the items in your Inventory to your body. It is also used to operate skills and
to target and kill monsters.

13
4. Global Positioning System

This is the Global Positioning System (GPS).

You can bring this up by left clicking the globe icon in the function bar or by tapping M on the keyboard.
The GPS shows your location, by selecting the map you want to see on the right side panel you can view it in the
middle panel. More maps of other towns will be added to your GPS as you earn them by completing certain
quests. By clicking on the option below the map you can see the map is colour coded by the strength of the
monsters in relation to your level.

You can also transport your character to different areas of the

current map and other maps by clicking this icon. This is a
much quicker method of travelling around the map
considerably.

However, to do this, you will also need an item called a

‘return stone’. These can be bought from the Core Alchemist,
an NPC (Non Player Character) from one of the villages.

14
5. Other Information

This is a quick overview of some options available to you. Although it not essential to the game, it is recommended
that you become aware of them and what they do.

bottom toolbar by clicking the computer icon

character selection (without having to enter
login/password again.)

described below.

your pc is having trouble keeping up with the
game, it may be a good idea to turn a few off
these settings or lowering the graphics
