Pallonji S. Mistry Chairman Pallonji S. Mistry joined his family business, Shapoorji Pallonji & Co. Limited at the young age of 18 years and obtained hands on experience in the various facets of the group business. He soon joined as a Director of Union Bank of India, Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Co.Limited, W. H. Brady Group of Companies and The Associated Cement Companies Limited. He was the Chairman of The Associated Cement Companies Limited from 24th September, 1977 to 26th July, 1979 and was again re-appointed as Chairman from 4th September, 1997 to 26th April, 2000. He joined the Board of Tata Sons Limited, the holding company of the entire Tata Group. Under his Chairmanship, the family owned company, Shapoorji Pallonji & Co. Limited expanded its business and was the first Indian Contracting Company to undertake contracts in the Middle East. In 1971, it secured the prestigious project for the construction of The Palace for His Majesty The Sultan Qaboos of Oman and a large number of prestigious ministerial buildings in Oman. During this time, the Group also undertook execution of the Turnkey Project for construction of a Modern Hospital at Abu Dhabi and the construction of Abu Dhabi Palace Guest House. It also undertook several other projects in Qatar and Dubai. In the last few years, the Group acquired a substantial stake in Forbes Limited which is a conglomerate of companies having various businesses ranging from textile, engineering goods, home appliances to shipping agencies. The Shapoorji Pallonji Group also acquired over 90% stake in Afcons Infrastructure Limited which undertakes large Infrastructure Projects in India and abroad. The Group is one of the few to have successfully completed setting up of a Private Power Project in India. His business experience of over 55 years spreads over diverse streams of business, varying from Real Estate and Contracting Business to Industries, Trading, Power Generation and Information Technology.

Shapoor P. Mistry Managing Director Shapoor Mistry is the Managing Director of the Shapoorji Pallonji & Company Limited. He is a graduate in Business Studies and Marketing from London and joined the Shapoorji Pallonji Group in 1988 as a Director. He spearheaded the group's foray into the Real Estate business in 1992 and, in just over a decade, has transformed it into a multi city, diversified asset class business with over 70 million square feet of real estate space under development. The Imperial Tower is the tallest residential premium residential property developed by the Real Estate business, has won a record seven awards at prestigious Asia Pacific Property Awards. With an eye on the emerging technological trends and a vision of transforming the Shapoorji Pallonji Group into a diversified conglomerate, Mr. Mistry over saw the take over of the Tata Group's Forbes-Gokak business in 2001. As Chairman of Forbes & Company Limited, Gokak Textiles and Eureka Forbes, Mr. Mistry has helped the group scale new height in consumer water treatment, home cleaning, security systems, shipping and logistics and bank transaction management verticals.

Mr Mistry was appointed to the board of Indian Hotels in 2003. He holds Directorship positions on the Boards of several other companies.

He is a noted philanthropist and has been associated with a number of charities concerning health care (trustee of the Masina Hospital, Dadysett Charity Trust and Manockjee Cowasjee Petit Charities trusts) and education (member of The Duke of Edinburgh's Awards World Fellowship, U.K).

He is a Graduate in Civil Engineering from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London and a Master of Science in Management from the London Business School. He joined the Shapoorji Pallonji Group in 1991 as a Director. In 2000 when the Shapoorji Pallonji Group acquired AFCONS, he became a Director and in 2003 its Chairman. He has been able to metamorphosis the construction business in the Shapoorji Pallonji group to scale new heights year on year. Mr Mistry was appointed to the board of Tata Sons Ltd. in 2006. He holds non-Executive position on Boards of several companies.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Civil Engineers, UK. He is a Trustee of the NICMAR and a founder Member of the Construction Federation of India. He is a Trustee of the Breach Candy Hospital Trust, Mumbai. He is also on the board of Imperial College India Foundation. He is a voracious reader of business books and plays Golf.

Jimmy

Parakh

Jimmy J Parakh, 59 years, is a Director on the Board of Shapoorji Pallonji & Co Ltd. He holds a Degree in B.Com (Hons) and is also a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants on India. Mr. Jimmy Parakh joined SPCL in the year 1982 and over the last 28 years has been instrumental in shaping the growth of multiple businesses/ companies including turning around existing businesses and incubating new ventures till they have achieved critical mass. Mr. Parakh also serves as an internal coach for multiple group companies due to his in-depth knowledge of the group, financial structuring expertise and very strong relationships with bankers, investors and internal decision makers. Mr. Parakh has successfully led external equity and debt funding initiatives for group companies and is closely involved in the Group's overseas business initiatives. In addition, he holds multiple directorships of Group companies and actively contributes towards the growth and expansion of these companies. Mr. Parakh has been invited as a speaker to various investor and banking conferences in the past

Shankar

Krishnan

Shankar Krishnan is Group Head - Strategy with the Shapoorji Pallonji Group. Shankar joined SP Group in October 2009. He is responsible for driving the Group's strategic growth agenda, for which he works in close coordination with the Promoters and the leadership teams of the Group's diverse businesses. His role includes institutionalization of processes related to strategy formulation and implementation, as also assistance in the incubation of new businesses within the Group. Shankar graduated with a B.E (Honors) in Civil Engineering from VJTI (Mumbai University) and was a recipient of the JN Tata Endowment scholarship. He worked for a year with Tata Consulting Engineers, an engineering consultancy, upon completing his Engineering. He then obtained an MBA at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad(IIMA), majoring in Business Policy and Finance. Shankar worked for 15+ years in the management consulting practice of Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting). In 2007, he was made Partner, with responsibilities that included practice building, client relationship management and employee engagement. During his tenure with Accenture, Shankar worked with clients in diverse industries, in strategy formulation and execution, organizational change management and operational improvement. While a significant part of his consulting experience was in India, he has also worked with clients in the Middle East, Malaysia and Singapore.

As a Group Head of Human Resources, Vasant is responsible for group wide initiatives in the area of talent management, managing for performance and leadership development Vasant Sanzgiri graduated in BSc in Life Sciences from St Xavier's College, Mumbai. He obtained his Masters in Management Studies from Sydenham Management Studies, Research and Entrepreneurship Education, Mumbai.

Vasant is married to Dipti, who is the Executive Director Human Resources, Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd and has a son Janesh who is pursuing his graduation studies. Vasant likes to read and is passionate about traveling.

Mahesh

Tahilyani

Mahesh Tahilyani is a Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary and an Information System Analyst from India and a Cost and Management Accountant from UK, CIMA He is with SP group as a Group been involved in various areas Investment Management, Capital controls, Acquisition (Incl. Financial Controller since 2 years and has like Financial Performance management, Allocation in addition to looking at business due diligences) and restructuring.

Prior to this, he has total experience of around 22 years with a leading multinational organization in areas of Finance and Control, Budgeting, Commercial, Governance, Internal Audit Risk Management, Business process reengineering and Corporate Planning. He has worked in India with a leading and a recognized multinational in different domains (finance, accounting, secretarial and administration) in the initial years followed by an international assignment with an IT multinational as their Group Financial Planning and Analysis Manager in Europe. He returned to head the Internal Audit function for India and later on was assigned the responsibility to set up a Shared Service Center (BPO) for a multinational executing the full range of accounting and financial services for its North American activities which went on to have 700 employees in 3 - 4 years. He has also been a speaker in - Shared Service Asia Summit Global Offshore Outsourcing Summit 2005, IQPC Singapore (Aug 2005) on the subject "Employing Automation Tools and Technologies to manage the business and ensure continuous efficiencies" and also for IQPC, Shared Services and Outsourcing: Global Conclave 2007, Hyderabad, held Mar 2007 where he spoke on "Using a customer Partnership model to design and institute a Global Centre of Excellence".

Gokak Mills was registered in the year 1885 by Ritche Stewart Ltd, under the name of Gokak Water Power and Manufacturing Company Ltd.(GWPCL). On the 5th October 1887 the first power house was commissioned and with the help of 250 HP Pelton Wheel with the help of 250 HP Pelton wheel mechanical power was generated, which was transmitted to the extraordinary length of the line of transmission and speed attained by the huge pulley wheels were said to surpass only thing of its kind in the world. 646.42 hectares is the total land location of the mill dividing area including afforestation and area listed in the total property. In the year 1887 1st Mill was started with 6000 spindles and in the year 1890 spindles were increased to 29525. In the year 1913 first time in Asia started Hydro Power Generation by using turbine. In the year 1919 the company was registered in India as Gokak Mills Ltd then it becomes a rupee company. Ritch Stewart and company limited, united with M/s. Forbes and Company to become Forbes Campbell with capital of $ 100000. The company started with 3 turbines. Today, it is a division of Gokak Textiles Limited, with spindle capacity of 1,14,408 and production capacity of 90 MT yarn per day.

MR. H. S. BHASKAR - Executive Director & CEO Mr. H. S. Bhaskar started his career in the year 1976 at Gokak Mills. He left Gokak Mills in the year 1981 and between 1981 to 1996 he worked in various reputed Textiles Mills as Technical Manager, Senior Vice President, Joint President, President etc. After 16 years he returned back to Gokak Mills in the year 1996 as G. M. (Technical), because of his basic nature of Thinking Unthinkable and achieving the same, he rose to the level of Executive Director & CEO of Gokak Textiles Limited within a short span.
