ANDREW Ladies and gentleman, we have gathered here today to celebrate the holiday of all holidays - the birth of - the television Christmas special. Thats right. Actually we all know Christmas celebrates an even better story that was started over two-thousand years ago and continues to affect lives today. Some lives more than others though, does anyone know a Christmas grump? Oh where did you meet my wife. Maiden name was Scrooge. Its British. I just flew in from a pre-Christmas party in LA and I have surprising news. Its going to be a white Christmas in California Hollywood is all abuzz with this. Thats right King Kong has dandruff and the city is just covered. Ohh! - That jokes flaky. Ha ha.

Of course my favorite thing about Christmas is the gifts. Big surprise right. Everyone loves getting gifts last year was a mis-fire though. I opened the box from my wife and it was a toupee. I said, Sweetheart, I have a full head of hair! But she told me it was preventative medicine. This year I got her size extra, extra, extra large underpants. But really folks, it is better to give than receive. Just the other day I was on the bus and gave my seat to a sweat little old lady - how was I to know she couldnt drive. Eesh - I got off at the next stop - buses stop when they hit trees you know. Poor thing nearly released her holiday spirit. (Makes hands flutter upwards like a ghost leaving). (MORE)

PHIL Look, now youve made Mike upset. MIKE (doesnt move muscle) RICH Im so sorry Mike. Look, I brought the cannoli - want a cannoli? MIKE (Shrugs and takes the cannoli) From behind the curtains a voice calls out. THE STAR Hello! Hello! Is that the wise guys. Open the curtains. The script specifically says cue curtains. Curtains open to reveal Richard the Star angel suspended in the air. PHIL Look, theres the star. THE STAR Thats right, the stars back, baby. Hey, wheres my intro-music. The script specifically says cue intro-music. Earth Angel starts to play cued to the line ...earth Angel... THE STAR (CONTD) Woe, woe, woe - thats Gabriels boy band music. Cue MY into-song.

Aerosmiths Angel blares through the speakers as The Star goes wild with air guitar. THE STAR (CONTD) You can tell I fly because Im so good at air guitar. Hehehe. Thats why Im THE Star. PHIL You, buddy, youre a star - youre not the star of the show. THE STAR What are you talking about? The script specifically says cue the Star. RICH Thats an article - not a a title. You play the star in the play. But this is the Andrew McChristmas show. Hes THE Star. Aint that right, Mike? MIKE (doesnt move a muscle) RICH See, Mike says so. THE STAR Two-thousand years. Curtains close as the wise guys walk off stage. ANDREWS CHRISTMAS Stage hands bring out wing back chair with Andrew already in it. As they place it down a third stage hand places an eggnog and a bubble pipe in his hand. Bing Crosby style 50s Christmas music plays in the background.

ANDREW You know, this is the time of year when the simple, but beautiful things of life are celebrated. Like charity, the sound of children laughing, sidewalks, city sidewalks, dressed in Holiday cheer. And we reflect on the values we all hold dear. Faith, hope, love - and forgiveness. Plap. A massive snow ball nails Andrew in the face. THE STAR Ill show you whos the star. Andrew jumps to his feet fighting mad. ANDREW (to The Star) Why I oughta... Harrison walks into his house takes off the campy hunting plaid and hat with ear flaps to reveal a very sharp tuxedo. HARRISON Its time for a little me time. He sits down to the piano and begins to play an elegant version of Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire. HARRISON (CONTD) Chestnuts roasting on an open fire. Jack Frost nipping at your nose. Yule tide carols being sung by a fire.... He begins to tinker with something... more rock. Great the melody to Great Balls of Fires finds its way out. Suddenly, and without notice Harrison kicks into full gear. HARRISON (CONTD) You shake my nerves and you rattle my brain. Too much love drives a man insane. You broke my will, but what a thrill. Goodness gracious great balls of fire! He breaks into a jamming piano solo - kicks the seat out from under him and really cuts loose. Andrew McChristmas comes out on the stage. He seems agitated and a bit confused by all of the racket. Harrison has his feet up on the piano. Andrew bangs on the door. Harrison stops cold. ANDREW Whats all that racket in there? Harrison, busted, seamless moves back into a soft take on Chestnuts Roasting...

HARRISON Chestnuts roasting on an open fire... oh nothing. Haha. Merry Christmas Andrew. ANDREW Okay - Merry Christmas... Andrew steps away from the door. ANDREW (CONTD) Lets see whats happening on the quiet side of the street. Andrew goes to knock on the Gigax door but before his hand can reach it, Rebecca pops out. REBECCA Hey, Andrew McChristmas. McChristmas. ANDREW Thanks little girl. Steve walks to the door. STEVE Hey Andrew! Were just about to read the Christmas story as a family. Why dont you join us. ANDREW Well, that is very nice of you, but I dont want to intrude. STEVE Are you kidding! Its your Christmas special. ANDREW (to the crowd) Hes got a point. CHRISTMAS STORY Andrew walks in to find the family gathered around Steves wing back chair. Sue, complete with heels, pearls and a beehive stands and the two well-manicured children sit on the floor.
