Designed a wide range of footwear, including: walking, outdoor, running, military and Gore-Tex and DESMA. Led a team of 3 designers in the creation of performance footwear: innovating concepts, hand-drawn, digital and 3-D internal/external representations and technical packages. Managed award-winning "NBx Performance Running" design team (Jun. 2006- Nov. 2008) Recognized by Health and Runner's World magazines for innovative designs: "2008 Best Running Shoe" for New Balance WR 768: Health Magazine, Dec. 2008. "Runner's World Editor's Choice Award" for New Balance 903 Running Shoe: Runner's World Magazine, Jun. 2008. Conducted and applied extensive design research through eld interviews of athletes, retailers, manufacturers, internet and exhibitions of design to ensure the product would be both aesthetically pleasing and functional. Integrated creative direction with strategic marketing by working with product management teams to develop a joint vision for overall look, functionality, personality, colors, material and retail aspects of footwear. Managed communications with manufacturers to direct, revise and expedite product development in U.S. and Asia. Led the development of footwear for the U.S. military after extensive eld research and interviews with members of the military; presented a strategic plan for product development to ensure that footwear could be produced in the U.S. Ensured smooth integration of NB technologies and branding after New Balance acquired the OTB brand in Jan. 2010. Made complete technical packages for product production in Asia: detailed mechanical drawings, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop les for compression and injection-molded parts, material and color specication and construction details. Acted as an independent consultant to small business manufacturers, mentoring staff in designing functional and attractive footwear. Conducted necessary brainstorming and consumer research on trends, color and material specication of each product within their respective markets.
