org Subject: RE: BBB Complaint Case#90127495(Ref#106-90041588-90127495-12-4100) Date: Wed, 4 Jan 2012 13:36:33 -0500 First of all, the fact that you have been in practice for 27 years does not auto matically make my claim invalid. Second of all, the fact that you claim that you 've never received any complain like this during your entire 27 year old practic e is unrealistic given what I have observed in your office that day. Third of al l, you prove yourself to be extremely unprofessional even in this e-mail by refe rring to me as "this woman" so it should come as no surprise that an unprofessio nal person like you would hire unprofessional staff members that defend animal c ruelty not to lose existing clients. I am not "this woman." Do you see me addres sing to you as "this man?" Now onto your lies, Dr. Gilley: If you were not in the office that day, and you were not as you admit, you're in no position to tell what is factual and what is not. Who are those witnesses th at you're speaking of? The staff member who is most likely going to lie not to l ose his job or the guy (who punched his dog right in the face) that will most li kely have his dog taken away by animal control officers? Are these the witnesses you're referring to? I'd come to your office because one of your existing clients had mentioned that compared to other vets who charge at least $40 for a basic examination, you char ge only $25. Upon my visit to your office, the saying "you get what you pay for" has been fully confirmed as even basic examination was horrible and took like 2 0 seconds at most. Now, as for your staff member, Josua, he SAW the dog being abused. How can you f lat out deny this now? You know it happened, and I'll explain why in the next pa ragraph: Josua was the one that was helping that specific client. I can still remember th e face of the guy who punched the dog. The hispanic lady who was with me gasped when the dog got PUNCHED in the face (in the right cheek to be specific) and sai d, "aaaaiiii." The dog looked absolutely terrified and immediately got quiet, me aning this is a method the dog owner uses on a regular basis to quiet his dog. I was the only one who stood up and said, "why did you hit the dog?!" as I am an animal lover, a vegan and rescue dogs. Most people have this "as long as it is n ot my dog that is harmed, it's not that bad" attitude. I don't hold such selfish views and will intervene if I see cruelty taking place. Before the dog owner could answer me (I am pretty sure he did not speak English) , your staff member immediately jumped in and defended what had happened. I was left dumbfounded to say the least. Josua got in my face (there was a desk betwee n us; he was behind the front desk) and said, "it's his dog; he can do whatever he wants to it!" I was shocked. I said, "he cannot do whatever he wants just bec ause it is his dog." He got in my face again and repeated himself by saying, "It 's HIS dog; he can do whatever he wants to it!", and I got in his face and repea ted myself and added, "If that was the case, we would not have animal cruelty of ficers and investigations!" Then he kicked us out by saying, "you can go ahead a nd leave now!" I told him, "do you own this place? Are you the doctor, you douch ebag?" He replied and said, "you're a douchebag." I said, "douchebag, you need t o be taken down a notch or two.", and that was the end of it. There was NO curse word involved. A douchebag is a slang that refers to a jerk who acts arrogantly , and that's exactly how Josua was behaving that day. I did not know this guy's name so I asked the doctor (the short lady with blond hair) that was treating my dog what his name was, and she said, "I don't know." I asked another staff memb er (short guy with glasses), and he is the one that gave his name and said, "yea h, he should have not said that." I said, "THANK YOU!"

When I called your office the next day to discuss what had happened the day befo re (the dog getting punched and your staff member defending it), your wife, who is extremely arrogant (I guess such attitude comes from being married to a docto r) answered the phone and told me that I could not speak to you as you were in s urgery. I said I would call back later but before I got off the phone with her, I told her that I was charged for a service that I did not get. I also wanted to get this taken care of by you but I thought, "since I am on the phone, I might as well take care of this problem." She asked how that could happen and such. I did not let it go and said, "well, the dog did not get dewormed." Then said she was going to give me the benefit of the doubt as if I was lying. I was pretty of fended. She said she was going to write a note on my account and give me a credi t of $12 the next time I am there. I am not some dumb, naive person. I am starti ng med school next semester but to me, it seems like this is your way of manipul ating people to come back to your office again. Now, you're LYING and saying the dog got dewormed. How can a dog get dewormed be fore a stool sample can be taken? You first need to take a stool sample, determi ne what kind of worms the dog has and based on the type of worms the dog has, yo u inject the dog to deworm. If the dog has tapeworms, you inject the dog with st uff that treats tapeworms. If the dog has roundworms, you inject the dog with st uff that kills specifically roundworms so what was the dog injected with? What k ind of worms did the dog have? Let's assume the dog was indeed injected. Why was he not injected right before my eyes? There was not even a syringe in the exami nation room. But here is another thing that happened: I was charged $21 for 20 pills but when I counted the pills, there were only 14 in the bottle. Once I told the staff me mber (I don't know her name but she is an elderly woman with shoulder length hai r) that the doctor prescribed 20, not 14, she went in the backroom and added 6 m ore pills but the price on the receipt did not increase. Now, you're surprised t hat I am using the term "scam"? And here is why it is very obvious you're lying, Dr. Gilley: When I called back again to speak to you, again, your wife answered me and told me you could not come to the phone so instead, I explained what had happened to her. She said she already knew about the incident, heard from other staff member s and said she was sorry and that she would discuss the matter with you. I said, "ok then. See you 10 days later." (the dog was scheduled for a check up as soon as he was one with his antibiotics that he was prescribed to take twice a day f or the next 10 days). Why would she say "sorry" if this incident never took plac e? Your flat out denying something like this never happened is absurd. Come on; you're a doctor...come up with lies that at least sound somewhat realistic. Then a couple of hours later, I received a call from your wife. She said I should ta ke my business elsewhere and that I was the one who called Josua a douchebag fir st. I said, "how do you go from saying, "sorry" to this? You're making the whole incident as insignificant as this? A dog got punched in the face, and your staf f member defended it, and when he kicked us out and acted like he owned the plac e, I called him a douchebag, and in this entire picture, you're focusing on who called who a douchebag first?" She said, "Dr. Gilley does not condone rudeness i n his office so you need to take your business elsewhere." According to what hap pened, clearly, Dr. Gilley condones animal cruelty though. Then she hung up on m e. When I called back, she told me that if I called back again, she would call t he cops on me. I told her to go ahead as cops were aware of what had happened an yway. They praised me for what I did that is standing up for a defenseless dog b y speaking against the cruelty it endured right before my eyes in a VET'S OFFICE where a vet technician defended it but they said I should have called them whil e I was in the office so they could address the animal cruelty I had witnessed b y taking the guy's dog away.

After your wife threatened and hung up on me, she called me again. I did not pic k up the phone because it seemed like she was trying to set me up since she'd sa id on the previous call that if I called back again, she'd call the cops on me. I did not want to give her the satisfaction. A couple of days later (after I fil ed with BBB), you people called me again. I did not answer because there was not hing to discuss at that point as I had given you people a chance before. Please drop the drama, Dr. Gilley, talking about how you employ people with chil dren. Because your argument that is NOT objective or FACTUAL in any shape or for m has failed, you're, now, trying to appeal to people's emotions. A dog fighter also feeds his children by making money in a dog fight ring; a thief also feeds his children by stealing from others. What matters is how one makes money...hono rably and honestly. If you will not run your business professionally, yes, your business should shut down. You might personally be against animal cruelty (I am hoping you're; I'd like to think you're especially given your profession) then t his incident should be a wake up call to you - that is you need to hire people w ho share your vision and passion for animals. Defending the actions of people wh o stand for what you claim you stand against hurts you and your reputation. Josu a needs to be fired period. When your wife told me to take my business elsewhere , I was shocked. I said, "so you're punishing me for doing the right thing by te lling me to take my business elsewhere...what will happen to that guy who defend ed animal cruelty?" Your wife said (I'm quoting her words exactly), "It's none o f your business what happens in this office." She did not say, "Josua said no in cident such as the one you're describing took place". She did not say, "Dr. Gill ey says no incident of that nature took place." You were well aware of what had happened. You did not want me to come to your office again because you all reali zed that I am a bit too feisty and could cause "trouble" to you, meaning inciden ts like this do happen in your office and you wanted to make sure I was never th ere again to see another one as you knew I'd speak up again and cost clients to you. In addition, if the dog got dewormed, why is it that he still had worms in his s tool that I had to spend almost $100 to get him treated? Here is the catch. This vet actually took a stool sample, identified the worms and gave 2 shots (2 week s apart) accordingly: http://s1083.photobucket.com/albums/j397/browniemax26/?action=view&current=VETRE CEIPT.jpg p.s. the police knows about this incident. They also know that your office has m y address on file and Josua will be one of the first people they will look into if anything happens to me or my dogs. p.p.s. James A. Kanzler, DVM, president of Florida Veterinary Medical Associatio n, is also aware of this incident and wanted to be personally updated on the cas e.
