Avas Run 4 a Reason 5K/1 mile Family Run

The second annual Avas Run 4 a Reason , benefiting the Avalyn Shaye Foundation, Inc. , is scheduled for March 31, 2012 @ 9:00 a.m. (for the 5k) and 8:30 (for the 1 mile family run) at Charlie Daniels Park in Mt. Juliet. All proceeds from this event will be used to build a splashpad at Charlie Daniels Park in Mt. Juliet. In March 2010, our beloved little girl, Ava, died from a routine childhood surgery (a tonsillectomy). It was her life and legacy that inspired us to come up with a place for families to go and enjoy each other and spend precious time together.a splash pad (aquatic playground) for the Mt. Juliet community. It is our desire to share a place with the Mt. Juliet community that would allow families and friends to come together, spend time and make memories with one another. It is our hope to offer children the chance to experience the things Ava loved most. To date, we have raised $50,000 for the splashpad. We need your help in making this dream a reality for this community. Our Mission: The Avalyn Shaye Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization established to preserve the memory of Ava Bright by enriching the lives of children through compassionate actions that build and uplift communities for the benefit of all children, giving them opportunities to embrace the things Ava portrayed: joy, love, & laughter. The vision for the foundation includes: Supporting the local community through the building and maintaining of Avas Splash Pad, an aquatic playground located at Charlie Daniels Park. To make quality preschool education attainable though the Avalyn Shaye Preschool Scholarship. To address community needs and strengthen our community by collaborating with and supporting existing child related charities that have similar missions. To improve the lives of children and families who have endured pediatric trauma that lead to a PICU hospital stay by providing care packages. We are asking you to help us with this years endeavor in becoming a corporate sponsor or by donating a gift inkind, e.g. age-group prizes, food items, event decorations, advertising, printing materials, etc. The sponsorships vary in dollar amounts, with corresponding acknowledgements. Your company name/logo may appear on the race t-shirts, our internet advertising, or other printed materials. Please see the attached form for specifics.
