Introduction to Metamaterials
The course will provide a global understanding of the functionalities of metamaterials starting from first principles. Recent developments will also be highlighted. The technical program will span fields in periodic media, effective medium modeling, nano-plasmonics, graphene metamaterials and cloaking. The course will introduce the current state of the art from a perspective of fundamental principles and possible applications, including challenges and theoretical limitations. This course is aimed at postgraduate research students and industrial engineers who want to acquire physical insight into the functionalities of metamaterials.

Deadline Grants
Registration by Friday, April 20 online at http://school.metamorphose-vi.org Four grants will be offered to students from non-profit organizations. Please send your application by email to : Christophe.craeye@uclouvain.be by March 30 (the email subject must be EUPROMETA grant). Should include students CV, research topic, and confirmation letter from the advisor explaining why a specific funding is requested. The 4 applications receiving most attention will be ranked: the amounts of the grants will be 320 , 260 , 200 and 140 , respectively. Answers will be provided by April 7. About 10 lodging options will be available at 60 /night max, assuming registration before April 6. 25 rooms have been reserved at 87 /night at Hotel Mercure, with (large) breakfast included: for that option, a discount of 20 /night (5 nights) will be offered assuming registration before April 13.
