Megan Mills (585) 690-4701 MeganMills15@Gmail.com January 24th 2012 To the Parents/Guardians of ___________________________: My name is Megan Mills and I am currently a graduate student at St. John Fisher College in the Birth-6 Literacy Program. Over the course of the next three months, I will be working directly with your child as part of my course requirements for my Practicum 1 course. I look forward to spending time with your child and watching them grow as a reader and writer over the duration of the spring semester. Throughout the course of our tutoring sessions, I will be administering assessments to your child. I will use this information to develop and plan a series of lessons, which will hopefully build upon your childs strengths and weaknesses in literacy. During my practicum course, I will also be working closely with my professor, who will observe me during one or two of our tutoring sessions. At the end of this session, you will then receive a copy of the final literacy case study on your child. I am positive that this experience will be successful and rewarding for everyone involved! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to contact me by email or by phone at anytime. I am asking that you please provide me with your childs classroom teachers e-mail. By having a way to contact your childs teacher it will help me to better understand your child and their classroom environment. Please make sure to drop off and pick up your child at the main entrance to the Ralph Wilson Building. It is important that your park your car and come into the building during both the drop off and pick up times. There will be a lot of traffic due to the volume of parents and students who are involved with our tutoring, so we want to ensure everyones safety. If for any reasons your child is going to be absent or someone else will be picking up your child please contact me as soon as possible. It is important that we are informed of the person who will be picking up your child in your place, as they will need to have means of proper identification in order for us to release your child from our care. Our program runs from January 31st April 17th, with our tutoring sessions starting at 4:45 p.m. and ending at 6:30 p.m. Your child is welcome to bring a snack to enjoy during break time, but please make sure to inform me of any food allergies they may have. I am looking forward to an exciting, and productive next three months with your child. Thank you for your participation and cooperation! Best Regards,
