The State Government in the School Education Department has come out with a policy notified vide No. 2065-SE(Law)/PL/5-S-348/10 dt. 01/10/2010 in compliance with the Order dt. 29/06/2010 passed by the Honble Justice Biswanath Somadder in W.P. 2580(W)/2010 [Tumpa Roy Vs. State of West Bengal & Ors.] announcing the introduction of Bridge Course for the candidates who have completed 10+2 with 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC, ST and OBC candidates) & passed one years PTT course upto session 2005 06 from the PTTIs recognized by the NCTE as well as PTTIs recognized under the State Act and other issues to solve the problem of candidates who have completed one years PTT course. 2) Further Vide Clause [V] of Para 7 of the said Order of the State Government in the School Education Department announced the candidates who have completed one years PTT or two years PPTT course upto 2005-06 but do not possess the 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC, ST and OBC candidates) in 10+2 can apply for registration through NIOS for upgrading their qualification to the minimum level required for admission to the Bridge Course. 3) Vide clause [VI] of Para 7 of the said Order the School Education Department also announced that once those candidates acquire minimum qualification as stipulated by the NCTE, they would be eligible for admission to the said Bridge Course. 4) Accordingly it is notified for information of all concerned that the candidates who have successfully completed the one years PTT course during the period 2000-01 to 2005 2006 session and two years PPTT course may get registered under NIOS for upgrading their qualification on the following terms and conditions: a) That only those candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination (+2) but did not secure 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC, ST and OBC candidates) and b) Those candidates who have passed the Madhyamik Pariksha (Secondary Examination) only and c) The candidates who have successfully completed one years PTT course or two years PPTT course in any of the academic sessions from 2000 2001 to 2005 2006 session from any of the PTTIs recognized by the Directorate of School Education and West Bengal Board of Primary Education under the State Act and not in employment under the Government. d) The course is designed for ex PTTI candidates to make them eligible to undergo Bridge Course only and which is to be completed within 2012-13. e) The eligible candidates shall apply to the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) in the prescribed format (enclosed with this Notification) for getting themselves registered in the Higher Secondary (+2) course. f) The candidate should apply through the Principal of any NCTE recognized PTTI (as per list enclosed). g) The candidate must indicate three choices of study centres approved by the NIOS in order of his/her preference for attending Personal Contact Programme (PCP). h) The admission of the eligible candidates to the NIOS will be fully free including supply of Course Materials and examination fee (for first attempt only). The examination fees nd for 2 and subsequent attempts (maximum 5 attempts) shall be paid by the candidate himself / herself. i) The candidate shall be offered to study in any of the four medium of instruction viz. Bengali, English, Hindi or Urdu and the subjects available for study is at annexure C j) The candidate may avail the benefit of Transfer of Credit (TOC) as per NIOS norms subject to the condition that minimum 33% marks must be obtained in the particular subject. k) If certain minimum number of candidates is not enrolled in a particular study Centre in that event the NIOS may transfer the applicant to any of the study Centre at their

discretion and the candidate will have to attend the said study Centre for personal contact programme and no relaxation shall be made. All ex-PTTI trainees eligible as per conditions mentioned above can apply in the prescribed Application form obtainable free of cost from any of the NCTE recognized PTTIs of the State on any date from 10/2/2011 to 28/2/2011 during office hours. The application form will be available in two separate colours: a) In white for those candidates who want to upgrade their percentage of marks in the H.S. Examination to 50% or more; and b) In pink for those candidates who want to get themselves admitted to the H.S. Course for obtaining necessary qualification for admission to the Bridge Course for PTTI students The application form can also be downloaded from the following websites: i) www.nios.ac.in ii) www.wbsed.gov.in iii) www.wbbpe.org The last date for submission of filled in Application form to any of the recognized PTTI with all testimonials is till 03:00 P.M. of 28/2/2011. All relevant particulars including Instruction for filling up the Application Form, Course structure, list of study Centres and NCTE approved PTTIs shall be available with the Application Form. No fees are required to be paid to the PTTIs for collection of blank Form and deposit of filled up forms. Abridged newspaper advertisement is being issued for information to all concerned.
