Computer Whiz Makes it His Biz to Conquer Trojans, Worms, Viruses and Other Computer Woes
Wouldnt it be nice to have a computer genius in the family? Someone who could at a moments notice help fix the frozen screens, slow internet and other frustrating mishaps that plague most computer owners at some time? Well, the Graue family of the Hollywood Riviera has just that in patriarch Geoff. And thanks to his business, Strand Technology, Hollywood making house calls to local residents is an important part of his work. Geoff has spent his entire career in the computer industry. When he graduated college as a computer science major and math minor in 1972, home computers hadnt been invented but many businesses had main frame computers those huge boxy things in the back room. Geoff worked at several large corporations setting up and maintaining their computer networking systems. Though the first PC, or personal computer, was introduced by IBM in 1981, the price was prohibitively expensive for most consumers until the late 1990s, when they reached the under $1,000 price point. The lower price, plus the arrival of the World Wide Web in the early 1990s, made personal computers a more appealing and viable option for many consumers. Today, approximately 76 percent of American households own at least one computer, and in the Hollywood Riviera, Geoff estimates that number is even higher. Geoff and his wife, Cheryl, a music teacher, have lived in the Hollywood Riviera since 1988 and have 2 grown children. A native of Ohio, he was drawn to the Riviera by its proximity to the ocean and the relaxed lifestyle. And

Geoff makes house calls in the Riviera and throughout the South Bay repairing computers with hiccups so they run smoothly again. No internet connection? Not a problem. Is your computer running slow?
