Air pollution due to factories

The author, James Prichard, states the following issues in "Study: Air pollution health risk high in many Mich. Neighborhoods." Presently, a lot of huge old factories, such as gray iron foundries, have been closed down. However, there are still many factories and these factories have a bad influence on our health. The people who live near huge factories hane a high risk of disease of the respiratory organs because of the emission from the factories. According to Gwen Willams, the patients who develop respiratory disease are really high around these factories, not only the people who live near the factories but also the people who live far from the factories. The gas of air pollutants is easily spread, so we need to be concerned about this fact.

Worldwide, a quarter of a million people die on the roads every year and ten million are injured, a scale equivalent to war. Motor vehicles are the single biggest source of atmospheric pollution. There are two of the points highlighted in a report by Greenpeace UK entitled "The Environmental Impact of the Car." It is available from Greenpeace UK, Canonbury Villas, London N1 2PN, UK, priced L5. A new report by the World Health Organization (WHO) showed long-term air pollution from cars in Austria, France and Switzerland triggered an extra 21,000 premature deaths per year from respiratory or heart diseases, more than the total number of annual traffic deaths in the three countries.
Aug. 23, 2004 -- Three cigarettes can cause more air pollution than a diesel car's exhaust, according to an Italian study. The study compared levels of air pollution particles produced by cigarettes with those coming from a late-model "eco-diesel" engine. The

research team was led by Giovanni Invernizzi of the Tobacco Control Unit of Italy's National Cancer Institute. the level of suspended particles increases alarmingly during festivals. bursting crackers is hazardous to the environment. crackers emit high amounts of smoke. magnesium, sulpphur dioxide, hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide are the main constituents of this smoke. it causes air pollution and contributes to global warming. it also harms mankind; infants and the old people are most affected by this smoke. it causes respiratory diseases. inhalation of magnesiun causes metal fume fever while copper compounds cause irritation in the respiratory tract of our body. so crackers should be avoided during festivals or any other occasions in order to stop planet earth walking through the path of destruction.
The pollution created by trains and is faced by every citizen as well as the other all living & non living organisms in the country is a cause of concern and it is neglected by the responsible authorities without bothering for the health of the citizens and of the Country. Though the solution to this problem is very easy, and there is no need to go through major technical aspects only required thing is will to come over this problem by basically accepting that this problem exist.
