Necrolock Solo Spec

This is a solo spec for mage. It can be scaled down to be used with lower levels while questing, though there are significantly more tools for survival once you get to 50 with this spec. I still prefer the Elementalist/Chloromancer because the elementalist rock pet is a bit tougher than the necromancer pets, but there are a lot more utility for survival in this build over elementalist.

This is a sample of my ability bar so it can give you an idea of one way to position your abilities. This is totally up to you to decide what way to position them of course as you have to be the most comfortable with where you lay out your abilities, but for me this is the easiest.

Necrolock Solo Spec

Summary: Soloing is never easy with a pet class, theres a lot to consider when you start pulling mobs, and sometimes your pet can get in the way, and sometimes it can be your savior. If your pet has too many mobs on it and youre not confident you can kill them, forget the pet, mount up and run towards an area where theres no mobs, and save yourself. Dying in the middle of questing can be frustrating, but it also means youll level slower and more expensive if you die a lot to have to Soul Repair. Also make sure you bring enough supplies with you, before you quest, buy or make all of your potions and buy all your drinks. Also another neat trick, when trying to get past a choke point filled with mobs, send in your pet, run right past, mount up once youre past and run away, the pet will not continue attacking once you mount up.
