SINGLE SUPER PHOSPHATE:

Single Super Phosphate is made by the action of sulphuric acid on raw rock phosphate [also called Appatite. RAW MATERIALS AND THEIR RESOURCES: Modern 'Single Supers' contains about 18-22% phosphate depending on quality. It also contains a proportion of sulphur. The raw materials for manufacturing SSP are as follows: ROCK PHOSPHATE: Rock phosphate is mined in many countries like India, China, Israel, Jordan, Syria, Morocco, Egypt, Malaysia, Indonesia and many African & American countries. The 31% plus grade is suitable for the production SULPHURIC ACID: The technical grade Sulfuric acid that is 98.5% pure is suitable for the process. However spent sulfuric acid from other industries like textiles, Detergent and which is a waste, can also be used along with the technical grade sulfuric acid in the plants designed by us. FUEL: To dry GSSP any fuel like Furnace Oil, H.S. Diesel, LDO etc may be used.

PROPERTIES OF SINGLE SUPER PHOSPHATE :

Nature: Free flowing powder and Granules Grayish to brownish white angle of repose 36O slight Hygroscopic / Caking at long storage acidic in nature, stored in dry place

Quality Specifications: Powder SSP(Green super phosphate) Moisture Contents Max 12% Free Acidity Max 4% Water Soluble P2O5 Min 16 Moisture per cent by weight, maximum 12.0 Free phosphoric acid (as P2O5) per cent by weight, maximum 4.0

Water soluble phosphate (as P2O5) per cent by weight, minimum 16 Ammoniated Single Superphosphate: Ammonia general of the SSP has been free phosphate products. Products containing 2% to 3%, the SSP will ammoniation part of the phosphate dihydrate, Ca (H2PO4) 2 H2O into DCP CaHPO4 2H2O, P2O5 reduce the aqueous solution. So to the extent strictly control ammoniation. Advantages of SSP Fertilizer: Provides 15% of total phosphate requirement of the country. Lowest price per kg, preferred by small and marginal farmers. Multi-nutrient fertilizer containing P2O5 as primary nutrient and Sulphur and Calcium as secondary nutrients. It is the cheapest source of Sulphur for the soil. Only phosphatic fertilizer which can utilize Indian rock phosphate deposits. Least foreign exchange per unit of P2O5. Utilizes acid effluent from other chemical industry and thus reduces nation's cost of effluent disposal. Applications: Research finding suggest some of the following features: Groundnut : Groundnut crop has responded well to Borophos with better root growth profuse nodulation better flower set and peg formation less number of pops pods fully filled with kernel the application increased the protein content 24.726.5% in groundnut kernels. Oil content of kernel significantly increased to 44.1% indicating that boron might be catalysing the metabolism of carbohydrates in oil higher yields about 15- 19 % over ordinary superphosphate Potato: Potato crop has showed very good growth of tubers and yield by use of BNSSP over ordinary SSP i.e. an increase of 11-20% has been reported. Sugarcane: Use of BNSS in sugarcane gave taller canes with longer internodes bigger girth of canes increased yield in the range of 12-19 %.
