In 1993 Hyundai introduced the A4AF1, used in the Scoupe. It was a semitypical KM transaxle, except it didnt have an idler gear, so it resided on the left side of the engine compartment. Mitsubishi phased out the KM series transaxle, but not Hyundai. In 2000, Hyundai further engineered the unit, adding two solenoids: Enter the A4AF3 and A4BF2.
